I lost my husband in January of 2019. Our daughter
was getting married in February, and our AMX
charges were a bit higher due to wedding expenses.
I contacted American Express because my husband
paid his bill automatically from one of HIS bank
accounts. I called the company to ask that a paper
statement be sent to me, so I could pay what he
owed. Let me be clear, I had a card on this very account and was listed on the
account. He was the primary account holder, but i
was an intregal part of the information.
After being transferred from one person to another, and LONG waiting periods, I was connected to a person from (You guessed it!). INDIA>. I could not understand a word she said. Finally, after some rude questions, I just said SEND ME A BILL and hung up. I was in tears.
American Express advertises about their great customer service. RIGHT! No company that wants to serve you uses a call center in INDIA! The story is not over! Did I get a paper statement? On no, they have turned me over to a bill collector.
Let me clarify. My credit rating is excellent. I have contacted the other companies (Discover, Visa, etc). They have simply changed the address and sent me the bill to rectify. On most of those, I wasn't even listed on the account info.
My final word to the wise. Don't believe those claims of CUSTOMER SERVICE made by this horrible company. If you want to check it out, I am sure that someone in India can really give you a sales talk! Or, perhaps the debt collector?… read more
