Allied First Bank

I am a retired Marine who served 21 years in the Corps. I have do business with Allied First Bank before and was happy with the refinancing in 2019. In 2020, I was doing a VA Interest Reduction with another lender when Matt at Allied First Bank contacted me. The three (3) most important things I wanted out of this deal is: reduced mortgage payments, skip two (2) mortgage payments, and not pay any cash at the time of closing. These three things Matt promised me he will do for me if I come over to Allied First Bank. Matt stated that we have prior history together and that I was happy with that transaction. Based on his word, I switched to Matt's company. He locked me into a good interest rate and low points and I was happy with that. During my waiting period I researched and found allot of negative reviews on Allied First Bank and took my concerns to Matt who told me not to worry about our great deal and what he reassured me that will not happen in our transaction. Two days before the closing date, Matt sent me a Closing Disclosure (required 3 days before closing) that showed I had to pay over $2700 in closing Fees. Matt stated that do not worry because it will readjust itself on the Final Closing Disclosure and I would not have to pay the closing fees. Matt was right and he did keep his promise, Matt moved the over $2700 and increased my loan amount to almost $3,000 without my authority. I took Matt's word and this is how it ended. I was lied to where Allied First Bank would have made over $7,000! Please take into account in this negative review and other negative reviews on this company, it may save you some pain. Gunny

We recently refinanced our mortgage through Allied First Bank. Our mortgage loan officer, Craig Dowling, was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained all the details of the mortgage refinance process clearly and concisely. We were able to do everything online. The whole process went smoothly and without any complications and we got a great rate! We would certainly recommend Allied First Bank as the bank to go to if you want to refinance your old mortgage or get a new mortgage and, if you are able to have Craig as your mortgage loan officer, we are sure you will be as happy and satisfied as we were with the whole mortgage refinance experience. My son's bank account was hacked and went round and round with management who did NOTHING to help us! We reported it and then they strung it along and said we didn't do anything so basically my 18 year old son who worked all summer for college is out of $1500! We choose this bank as it was in our town and thought they were involved with students in the district on programs, etc. Well, all I know is my student was douped out of a large sum of money and they kept pointing fingers at us! Go to another better known bank where you can escalate issues!

My name is Gregg Owens and I am a army veteran who recently had my home loan refinance through allied fist bank, terrible experience with these people, bad customer service They falsified authorizations of the escrow that was due back to me They told my previous mortgage company Guild mortgages I gave them permission to take my escrow... The branch manager Craig Mattson shouldn’t have that job he has bad customer skills always giving you the round around . Don’t do business with these people. I’m a American veteran who sacrificed for this country and this is how they treat me. Do not do business with these people... terrible company.!!!!!!

I started my account with Allied First Bank when they opened as a credit union, and have been happy with the service ever since. The transition from credit union to bank happened quite a few years back, and I don't remember all the details of why it took place, but the service and range of products has been great and the online access works fine. If you need to speak with a representative, they are super-friendly, and efficient; especially compared to some of the reps you speak with at the large banks. I have never been disappointed with my dealings at Allied First Bank!

Allied First Bank has always been a great bank for me. They have everything I would expect from a bank. They have a good variety of products with good rates. They have also been very accommodating of my requests. I would rate their customer service as one of the best I have ever received at a bank. I honestly wouldn't have thought that a friendly smile makes that much of a difference; but, it really does. They were especially helpful guiding me through the process of getting a home loan. Also, their decor inside the bank is something that I notice and appreciate each time I use them.

Allied First Bank is a great Bank, and their Visa Card service is right up there in the great category as well. I never had a problem using my card, and if there were any questions or issues about the statement or anything, the customer service was fantastic. Some card issuers make it clear, in their service, that gouging the customer is in their daily mandate. Allied First Bank handles things much differently, whenever I spoke with a representative, and I felt like a valued member of a club rather than a chicken to be plucked. If you’re eligible for a card with them, Allied First’s Visa is a wonderful card to have, and there are NO annual fees.
