Excellent customer service. They allowed me to defer payments for 6 months without penalty or show late payments on my credit report when i lost my job and gave me time to secure employment. In other words they froze the need to pay for the 6 months. They just extended my original loan length by 6 months. Thankyou Ally Bank!!. Peter M. NY.
Crooks, about sums it up! Refinanced and the payment was sent ACH. Did not credit my account until they sure I would receive a late fee! This was documented by my new credit union, they were puzzled why the payment was not credited. It is obvious, Ally takes advantage of the vulnerable to their benefit. Heartless and profit driven company that ought to be prosecuted. Avoid this company , no matter how much of a desperate situation you are in with new car loan. Charged me 10.5 % with a 650 score and no late payments in over 7 years. Foreign CS center as well, as you would expect. Do yourself a favor and just avoid!
This is THE WORST CAR LOAN PROVIDER EVER. I traded vehicles, and 3 weeks later they're STILL trying to withdraw payments on a car I dont have anymore! Twice they said it was fixed. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!
They may project a happy, welcoming, and trustworthy face but they are thieves. They are currently holding hundreds of thousands of dollars of my mother-in-law's money and forcing her to go to court to get it back. They have no legal cause to withhold her money and she now has had to hire a lawyer TO WITHDRAW HER OWN MONEY! Avoid them before you lose your money!
This was my 5th home but first refinance. I was lured in by decent rates and promise of an online streamlined process. It was a total nightmare - there was not a single step that went smoothly - baited with having to pay for an appraisal up front, no less than 4 appraisal appointments (through unprofessional people they had selected, not to mention the most expensive appraisal I have ever paid for - easily 2.5x any going rate), unending application tasks (you would just finish the complete list every time only to get the same questions again - my favorite was that this would always be sent to you on a Friday afternoon with a threat to terminate the loan application [and pocket the appraisal money] if it wasn't done and then they couldn't be reached, or ask you questions that are answered but they won't accept it), never available for a phone call (always make you leave a message with a junior person who can't help but promises a call back and checking things - but they never call back or address your concern), myriad of departments/people who seemingly are all over the place [east coast, west coast, multitimezone) and have trouble communicating with each other, just awful closing - we had to do it twice and then later they wanted a third! I can tell you having closed that afterwards the awful treatment continued - they took three months to get me my initial payment vouchers and then reported me late after I paid in full immediately! Afterwards their online servicing website kept changing and they have no brick and mortar locations! I read the other reviews and they sound just like versions of what I experienced. Interestingly there is not even a single positive individual review to be found. Do yourself a solid and steer clear of these buffoons, it ain't worth the 1/4-1/2 point bait.
Ally bank does not stand by their fraud guarantee. I was recently the victim of fraud where someone used by debit card and pin to pay for items in France. I have never been to France and never use by debit card for purchases. I have no idea how someone could use my card and pin when I was in physical possession of my card in the United States. Nevertheless, Ally bank took the position that because the criminal used my pin, Ally was not liable for the transaction. Ally bank is a complete scam and I urge anyone to take their money out before you have the same experience. Their fraud department won't even allow me to talk to them. They will not show me any evidence, video or proof of the transaction. I am so disappointed in this bank. Fortunately, my loss was only $96.25. But this experience was enough for me consider changing bank. Ally bank should be ashamed...If someone from Ally Banks’s fraud department would like to chat, I welcome the conversation. Respond to this review and I will more than happily send you my contact information. I am sure you know who I am since I provided the exact dollar amount of the fraudulent transaction along with the country where the fraud took place. If you do not want to be the victim of fraud, bank with anyone other than Ally Bank. I am going to make it my mission to provide negative feedback anyway possible to hopefully prevent this from happening to anyone else.
