Several years ago we opened three (3) accounts with ALLY BANK. Two CD Accounts (both IRA) and one "Managed Portfolio" account, also an IRA All under the "umbrella" of ALLY Bank. When the 2 CD accounts were going to mature back in July, we contacted ALLY Bank Investments and they helped us fill out TWO "Asset Transfer Forms", one for each of the CD accounts that we did NOT want to "re-new", but to take all those funds and move them into the already established "Investment Account"... again, under the ALLY Bank name. The first CD was closed and the total amount in that account was sent to the wrong address and after talking to ALLY Bank CD/IRA folks and the Investment side folks MULTIPLE times, (probably spent a total of 8-9 hours over 2-3 weeks talking to a myriad of people, a supervisor in the IRA Dept. (a lady named Deborah), decided to put a "cancel check" on the check ($16,268.83) that was sent to ??????, (they had no idea where that check was), and re-issue the check. That of course took another several days, and finally after more than 5 weeks we saw that amount posted in the "Investment" account. The second CD that was supposed to be closed and also moved over to the Investment Account was never done because those "Asset Transfer Forms" for that account, although received by the Investment folks, were never forwarded to the Banking side of ALLY Bank, so that account "rolled over" or re-newed, because ALLY Bank supposedly never received the instructions to close that account and transfer the money (over $10,900) to the "Managed Portfolio" account. We were promised on two separate occasions by a guy named Mike - (the second Mike was Michael Matzner), that the paperwork for that 2nd CD account would be "expedited" to the Ally Bank side and the Investment "team" would make sure there was no "early withdrawal fee" charged, because, hey, it certainly wasn't our fault it took more than 6 weeks to transfer funds between Ally Bank and ALLY Investments!!! Of course, it appears that an early w/d fee has been charged to both CD accounts... even after being told by both the CD and IRA dept and the Investment folks that after what we had been put through that absolutely no fees would be charged. I would only say that ALLY Bank and ALLY Investments need to STOP using the same name (ALLY) because they don't communicate with each other, point fingers at each other as to who was, or is responsible for this fiasco we have suffered thru for almost 2 months now. There is no communication... just lots of apologies and "heartfelt" feelings that stated we should have NEVER had to go thru something like this. Really??? Hollow words, absolutely no follow-up - (we were told that no one in the Ally Bank or Investment side were "allowed" to call us... we had to keep calling both entities time and time and time and time and time again. If I could rate you folks with ZERO stars, I would!!!
