No credit card needed
I got this card for one of my businesses. We tend to buy quite a bit of office supplies and printing materials. Having this card helped us streamline our purchases. We also enjoyed no interest payments initially, which was great considering we were doing consignment work. This card is backed by citibank and their customer service is very good. Application process was smooth but we did have to provide additional information after the online application. Overall I would recommend this card to business owners.
I have been an American Express customer since year 2000. Last year while taking an extended trip overseas, I decided to get a prepaid card to use during my travels. Being a dedicated AmEx customer, I inquired about prepaid services and ended up getting the American Express Serve card. I only use this card while traveling which gives me a better protection compared to regular credit cards. Payments are posted rather quickly and I would recommend this card to anyone looking for a prepaid solution.
I have had this card since 2003. When it came out it was the design of the card that grabbed my attention and ever since that, it has been in my wallet. I have 10 other credit cards but American Express service is the best in my opinion. I had this card stolen twice in the past and on both occasions, AmEx properly took care of the issue, reversing the charges. I would highly recommend this card to anyone, though you need to have a good credit score for AmEx approval.
First Progress Platinum Elite Secured Credit Card is great for people with less than satisfactory credit. I had credit issues due to unpaid health bills and First Progress was one of the first cards I could get with my credit score at that time. The APR is very high on this card, but what do you expect with bad credit. Also recently this card offered me a higher credit limit without increasing my security deposit. I did appreciate that, but I will probably get rid of this card soon because of the high APR.
Wells Fargo Platinum Credit Card is a great card which also allows you to design your own card. I used to keep all my checking and savings account in Wells Fargo, but I moved my accounts to another bank leaving this card as my only connection to the bank. Over the years I never had any major issues with this card other than less than satisfactory customer service, but how often do you need that any way. I have very low APR for this card, which is the main reason why I still hold on to it.
Discover is not so widely accepted anymore, but this card was a good choice for purchases outside us. It provides low or 0 foreign purchase fees which is a great convenience for me since I travel outside the country quite often and that I do not like to carry cash while abroad. Discover card is widely accepted in countries I travel to, also this card has very good yearly APR, much better than most of my other credit cards. If you travel abroad a lot and are looking for a card with low FTE, this is the card to choose.
First Progress Platinum Select Secured Credit Card was a good card for me and the application process was quite straight forward. When I applied for this card in the beginning, my credit was in shambles due to some unpaid medical bills. First Progress approved my application and gave me $500 limit secured with a bank deposit. Since then my credit score has improved and the bank offered me additional spending limit. This card does have decent APR which is much better than similar products from other companies. They also have an easy to use website.
I buy lots of clothes at Express and I use this card quite often. One of the major benefits of using this card is the deep discounts offered. For instance every month I am able to spend $225 and get a $75 reward for the purchases I make. This card has on of the highest APR but I never carry my balances and pay monthly to avoid interest. Express Store Card also offers rewards point for future purchases, which come quite handy. I highly suggest this card to everyone, but make sure to pay your balances on time to avoid steep interest.
All of our home shopping for groceries, cleaning supplies and everything is else done at Target, so it naturally made sense to get the Target Store Card. This card provides very good discounts on select item purchases. Another benefit is the extended return period. One big complain I have with this card is the very high interest rate, but of course you can always go around that hurdle by paying monthly and not carrying balance to get slammed with interest. Shopping at Target is a pleasure and using the Store card would be more fun if they offered decent APR, but I guess you can't always have too much of something good.
Amazon.com Credit Card must be the most used card in my wallet. I buy so many things from Amazon these days that this card gets so much use. One benefit of this card is the Amazon Prime Membership. Also the points offered for purchases on Amazon. Initially I was offered a $50 Amazon shopping spree which made me decide to get this card. I really like Amazon and I also enjoy using this card. Now we just have to wait for drone air delivery. Amazon is so ahead of everyone else.
I used to be a hardcore Circuit City fan, but since the demise of their store I seem to be buying more at Best Buy. So getting the Best Buy Credit Card card made quite rational sense initially. This card has offered me introductory %0 APR but afterwards they increased the APR to %13 percent due to high number of credit card debt on my credit history. It is still a decent number but this card does not get that much use anymore, instead I use my Blue American Express which offers far better rewards and APR.
Home Depot Store Card is another card in my wallet that does not get too frequent uses nowadays, but back when I applied for it we were renovation our home and used this on a weekly basis. I did have decent credit on those days but did not get offered a high spending limit initially. Overtime I was able to raise my limit but my APR stayed quite high. Nowadays this cards gets barely any use, but I still recommend it to people who shop at Home Depot frequently.
Credit One visa is a good card only if you have low credit score, I got it while building my credit and has been helpful since they report to all three credit agencies. I did have a problem with this card and there was fradulent charges on my account, unfortunately the banker worked with me and removed these charges from my balance immediately after reporting. Later on I had to provide documentation stating that the charges were fraudulent, but overall the experience was pleasant and I am a happy customer.
Blue Cash Preferred from American Express is a great rewards card especially if you frequently make purchases on Amazon. This card provides a year of free Amazon Prime membership which gives you free 2 day shipping on most items and Amazon movies. My APR is quite high for this card due to my credit score, but I pay of the balance monthly therefore avoiding interest fees.
