Phil has been our insurance agent for over 8 years now. We have kept him as our agent, even after we moved over 3 hours away. The reason we use Phil is because he is responsive and does a great job, not just answering questions, but keeping us informed. If we are waiting on a contact, he calls or emails each day, even to say something as mundane as “we haven’t heard anything back yetâ€. Too often this goes unsaid and leaves the customer wondering. Phil makes our insurance searches easy and quick. He often does research for us and is quick to let us know of changes. An amazing agent to have!
I can honestly say, I am split on N.W. Iowa Credit Union. On one hand they served the purpose we needed to keep some money for a special occasion, on the other hand, I never really liked the experiences I had the few times I went. One of the biggest problems was that two of the attendants would flirt and wore clothing that was what I believed to be inappropriate. The attendants obviously turned me off of them, the bank specialists (account managers) were only average. They were o.k. but nowhere near good enough to make up for the regular attendants. We have an account with them because my husband and I have two different experiences with them and he likes to keep money in place rather than move it around. While I haven’t had the best experience, mainly because of young attendants, I can’t say it a bad union. We have friends who have better experiences and different attendants seem better. While the few times I contact them on the phone, I get good service, the problem is I can’t get over the past experiences.
My family has had AFLAC for almost 10 years now. We originally got Life Insurance because my husband was in corrections and we didn’t feel right just getting a policy for one of us. The rates were basement cheap and the coverage was great. We have updated and upgraded our coverage on ourselves a number of times over the years as we have grown in our careers and our family. We have added policies for our two children, mostly just enough to cover expenses if an accident occurs. We have obviously never had to deal with such an unfortunate incident and are thankful, but we remain aware of the nature of the world and maintain the policies. Every time we have called in for advice we have gotten real advice, not just people who have tried to talk us into more coverage. It’s nice to call and have questions answered without feeling like you are being sold something. Friendly service, short wait times and good value for the services.
We love this bank, specifically we love the Armstrong Branch. It was only a few blocks from where we lived, and given Armstrong isn't too big of a town, most people were within easy walking distance. We loved Phil, the primary insurance adviser as he was helpful and personable. If nothing else, use that service, it's great. They have a housing advisor, although we never needed to use him. The tellers are generally pretty nice and friendly, we never experienced any overtly negative transactions or issues. One thing, most people will like, is that even though it is a small town bank they always have 2 counters open inside. It's nice to go in and not have that line, and be stuck behind someone who just isn't in a hurry to get anyone else moving. A great experience for anyone who needs a solid local bank.
As a junior and senior in high school, I worked at Taco John's and had a bank account through my mom. However, my mom had some financial issues and had her accounts closed. As most of my accounts were through her, I lost them as well. Because I had car payments and insurance to write checks for, I quickly had to scramble to get a new checking account open. As such I found Sioux Valley Coop and was able to open an account quickly and get my checks sent off. The bankers and tellers were massively helpful and were able to get my account up and running. I had checks within 2 weeks and had no problems with them from the day I opened the account until I moved away for college. If we ever move back, I plan on going back. Great experience and was there when I needed it.
When we moved to our new hometown, we set up an account with Nishna Valley Credit Union because my husband has a medical condition and I was 6 months pregnant. We knew we were going to have to make regular payments to the hospital so we set up an account. Nishna Valley made this easy and simplified the process. We don’t deal with them often as we have automatic deposits on the account and rarely go inside the building itself. However, the few times that we have, we seem to get good treatment. They have pretty standard offerings for a bank, but it’s a credit union so it’s nice to work with.
My husband and I have had State Farm for nearly 3 years now on our house. When we had to move for my work, we found a house that fit our family and got a quote from our old insurance. The rate was outrageous. We went through our normal inquiries after that and wound up with State Farm offering the best balance of coverage and cost. Thankfully, we have not had to have any issues resolved as our house has been spared many incidents which have struck neighbors (a lightning strike, straight-line wind damage and some flooding damage). The contract process was pretty standard and the paperwork was relatively easy and straightforward. Overall, I have to say that just based on our costs and our occasional questions for our agent, I am impressed and plan to continue with State Farm for the foreseeable future.
I have been a Progressive customer for just over a decade now. I’ve had 3 cars in that time and each one has been covered by Progressive. Each time I get a new vehicle I go through the process of looking for the best coverage for the price. Each time Progressive wins as they have solid rates and good coverage. The service is and always has been great. They give me straight answers and don’t do a lot of talking to answer simple questions. I’ve only had to make one call on a claim and that was when someone hit my car when it was parked. They paid upfront and worked with the police to find the person who hit me (which they did). It has been great and I would recommend them to anyone.
My husband and I switched to Wells Fargo when we moved to our new home. The set-up process was pretty normal without a lot of headaches, but it did take a good hour. Since we have had the account we have had a few electronic problems, but the people have done a good job getting them resolved. Posted amounts get run through quickly. There are two things I don’t like. One is the change in customer service from person to person. Some are friendly, others are pure professional. While not the biggest problem. You get used to friendly then you get someone who is just about moving along. Second, they are running promotions every month and they call you, or send you information or try to talk to you when you are running through to do something. Overall, these aren’t too big a deal, and this is a good branch of Wells Fargo.
