I was fed up with the mega banks out there that don't really care about you or your business and just want to nickel and dime you as much as possible. So i was recommended to Apple Federal Credit Union by a coworker and I have been using credit unions ever since. they are leagues ahead of big banks. No crazy monthly fees, they treat you with respect when you come in, and they actually try to help you. Highly recommended.
Apple FCU will ignore you and give you bogus answers. When you request to talk to a supervisor they tell you they can’t and they will call you back. They don’t call back. Don’t ever use your back card to pay for a hotel stay. If you don’t receive the services that you paid for, they will do nothing! We are going on 5 months of no answers or help!
Convenient card from Credit Union, with very good fraud monitoring. I like the customer service, but this card fails in that it suffers from a lacks of rewards or benefits.
Fraud Protection is a joke. Basically there is none. Two transaction of $300+ each for purchases that are well outside my normal spending habits that overdrew my account were processed. No contact, no questions, just kick in overdraft and pay them. One transaction still pending, but they can't cancel it. It has to go through normal fraudulent transaction procedures.
When I spoke to Customer Service she was "surprised" the fraud department didn't get ahold of me.
I live on a fixed income - thanks for making it hard to live this month.
The customer service at The Apple FCU is next level! The Broadlands (Ashburn VA) staff recently helped by daughter sort our some challenges she was having with her checking account. They were patient and effective in addressing her situation. They stayed with her until she could confirm her account worked, even though it was closing time. In a time when customer service at most banks is lacking, they really care about all of their customers.
Worst bank I have ver banked with. Where do I start? I DO NOT RECOMMEND this bank for absolutely anything. I have a savings account with them and I was scammed and had to use $800 from my savings. I disputed it and even with all the evidence showing how it happened, why it happened, etc. (not going to bore you with the details). They closed my dispute and told me that under THEIR guidelines because I was forced to do it and I had done it that it was not considered fraud. UNDER THEIR GUIDELINES fraud is only considered if someone uses your card without your knowledge honestly I have never heard of a bank not protecting there customers even when they are forced to do something. SO I went ahead and asked them, "so you are telling me if I have a gun pointed at my head telling me to do something this dispute would be closed and it screw me right?" that is pretty much what they were telling me. This bank does not care about there customers they only care about keeping your money, and bringing money in. I pulled my money out that very day and decided to go with another bank whose policies aren't stupid and ARE about there customers. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I REPEAT, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. They are a waste of time to invest in. I had been with them for years and was quite disappointed in learning how they do not care, they only care about money. If you are looking for a bank that cares I recommend NRL, Bank of America, Capital One, etc. in conclusion do yourself a favor and take your service elsewhere.

I don't even know where to start. SLOOOOOW with everything. Being told during a LOCKDOWN that I would have to "come into a branch" - are you kidding me?? - in order to "resolve" something. Being called by a VP w/profuse apologies. Do Not Recommend
Worst loan process I have ever experienced. We are trying to get a loan on a building we own and that is 100% paid off. My wife and I have been Apple members for years and we both have credit scores over 800. We started this loan process in FEBRUARY! We were told by our loan officer the loan has been approved by their board and should go to closing around June 15th. It's now July 9th. NOTHING YET! How is this possible. We still have no closing date. No letter of approval or intent. If you need money don't use Apple bank. I will keep everyone posted if and when this ever goes to closing.

I refinanced my mortgage at 1.9% rate of interest and feel my membership in the credit union has been a gift with qualified, helpful officers, dependable and detailed monthly statements to enjoy watching the dwindling mortgage, and have the greatest respect for the credit union which I have been a member for 54 years through my teaching career and retirement.
According to the credit union's website, the minimum credit score for a personal loan is 580. Please note that the credit score is just one factor that is taken into consideration when applying for a loan. The credit union will also look at your repayment history, capacity to repay and credit history.
