Mobile banking does not update account balances correctly -- leading to errors in the bank's favor when overdrafts occur.... Pending payments are also shown but are confusingly updated making your current balance always a matter of uncertainty.
Why is zero stars not an option?.... Go ANYWHERE else if you can!! Trying to make payments to this company is a JOKE. Doesn't recognize my email or password AGAIN. Been through this two times already. Make sure you make your payment Mon-Fri only and pay attention to holidays as well!! What a joke. Will refinance with someone else as soon as I am able!
This bank is horrible & has unprofessional staff members with very obnoxious attitude! They will hold your money & will not let you have access to your own money which I have direct deposited via my home refinancing & they froze my account,
Therefore, I have no access to any of my own money to pay for my food, medication for high blood pressure, eye medications & other necessary items. I am 66yrs old & my late 36yr son died 5mos ago. Therefore, I am under tremendous pressure & grieving my son’s death at the present time. I need my money to go overseas to conduct my son’s religious rituals
In addition, my 1st cousin died out of the country & I was not able to attend his funeral, due to this bank freezing my account for no reason at all & not even my fault. Their staff member told me that they just don’t keep large amounts of money in their vault. Therefore, I have to request in advance for them to order money from their home office. However, since they froze my account, they can’t even order any money for me to withdraw at this time! I am still waiting for the manager to review my account & return my call.
I have lived in America for over 50yrs & this is the horrendous thing that has happened to me. This is my own money & being discriminated like a criminal & treated unfairly.
So, I have written a letter to the CEO of the bank & filed a complaint to Better Business Bureau on Dec 27, 2022. I am definitely going to close my account with Associated Bank & take my business elsewhere where there is better service.
I would definitely not recommend anyone to Bank at Associated Bank st all, they will confiscate your money & use it to earn interest on your own money & not allow access to your own funds, which is so ridiculous.
If this matter doesn’t get resolved by this week. I am definitely contacting my attorney & file a lawsuit against this bank.

I've Banked with Associated every since 1983 when it was First Savings. I had a Checking, Savings & CD Accounts. (My Complaint) I purchased goods online with my debit card and I never received my merchandise. Therefore, I contacted the checking department with my concern only to be Racially Profiled for the second time! Then I complained to the team lead about the rep's behavior and ultimately I was treated worse. Then of course nothing was done in regards to the rep's behavior or with my original concern. I was humiliated to say the least because this Racial Profiling is a pattern with Associated Bank's Checking Account Department. Please refrain from doing business with Associated Bank!
I took out a line of credit secured by my home earlier this year. I went with Associated due to the personnel that they had at two of their remote locations that were convenient to where I lived. The process was rather drawn out however and I felt the document requirements were somewhat redundant. On at least 5 different occasions I provided Associated with proof of insurance during the application process as they appeared to be unclear as to what they wanted.
Last week I received a time sensitive document from Associated requesting insurance information that had been sent to them on 2 previous occasions. The letter was dated Nov 3 but it was postmarked Nov 14 from Miami, Fl (I live in WI). I received the letter on Nov 21. The time sensitive document required a reply in 15 days from the date of the letter, so when I received it the information they demanded was already past due. I sent an email to the staff member who handled my loan application and asked her to forward the document to me that was requested in the letter to make sure Associated had actually received it from my insurance agent back in May prior to closing the loan. I received the document from her the next day with the statement that it met Associated Banks requirements.
Yesterday I received another letter from the bank stating that they had taken out another insurance policy on my behalf to satisfy their demands and would be charging it against my account.
Knowingly delaying the delivery of mail is a felony. Charging a customers account without their consent violates Federal Banking rules. Treating a customer as Associated has treated me is bad judgement.
Although the fee was minor, some $30, my home is one of my most valuable assets. If this bank will treat me like this over such a minor matter, what will they do if something major were to occur??? I have become extremely nervous about Associated Bank.
I am in the process of removing my business from this because of this and also because Associated recently closed the 2 satellite banks I mentioned earlier and is no longer convenient to me. Also I have major concerns about the health of this institution along with my questions regarding the quality of their staff.
Although I love Associate Bank and have been with them for many years, the new version of of their app is horrible. What used to be so easy to see when I logged in are now statements and trying to discover what payments have been made are no longer available easily. It took me 5 minutes just to figure out how to do check deposit. Why is it when something is working along come someone that decides that "we can do this better". Better for whom? Not your customers. I am seriously thinking about changing banks. Ridiculous.
Beware of Associated bank Very Rude executive staff. I received a letter informing me that Associated bank is changing it's routing number in September 2022. What does this mean? Every customer will have to change every account tied to Associated bank (Venmo, Electric, cell bills, Gas bills, IRS refunds, Paypal, Ebay, Zelle, etc) . When contacted, management has no idea the major inconvenience this will/would cause. Customers will have to contact every payment partner and manually change the routing number, I they don't, their auto pay will not take place, deposits will not be received .
When I expressed this concern to management in Green Bay, they didn't care one bit and were extremely rude and just told me that their customers would just to "DEAL WITH IT"...if you didn't like it...find another Bank. I've been with Associated bank for over 20+ years and up until today have never been treated this RUDELY. My account is now closed! Rude people, especially upper corporate management….They are very inconsiderate.
BEWARE: If you do any electronic banking with Associated Bank, you are in for a RUDE awakening in Sept 2022. AVOID ASSOCIATED BANK at all costs!!
Agree totally. Their bed side manner needs work. Appears to be a management problem as the staff people are very pleasant and customer oriented.

This bank is very difficult to do business with. Their app and website do not work. It will not allow you to login. You can’t even simply reset your password. It requires you to call in to have your account completed deleted, forcing you to create a “new account” each month or you must set up automatic payments. It’s a bit unsettling to deal with a financial institution that you can’t even login into a website easily to see your payment history, account balance, or make payments. DO NOT ACCEPT A LOAN FROM THIS BANK FROM THE CAR DEALERSHIP. Ask for another institution.
