They closed my checking account the next day after I posted my experience here on 01/27/2023, I would recommend everyone to check their customer services and policies before thinking to bank with them, I think they are scam, they are holding my money and their customer service agents do not know when the final check will be mailed out to me, I am considering filing a lawsuit against them,
Axos is a bait and switch bank. You start with a higher rate, but then you are forced to open new accounts in a rising rate environment to get the new higher rate. Terrible policy that penalizes existing customers and is part of the reason they get such poor reviews on sites like this. Oddly, they seem to have a policy of responding to negative comments on this board (but not doing anything with the underlying policies that causes all the negative comments).

DO NOT USE AXOS BANK. Their customer service is horrible and you might as well not even call cause they always just tell you they can't help and that its their policy. Every service they provide has a 3-5 day wait whether you're moving money around or trying to deposit a check. They have no compatibility with services like venmo or cashapp either (another 3-5 day wait if you want to add money to your accounts). If something goes wrong? You can call, but you'll have to wait 3-5 days for them to even verify that something has gone wrong.

I opened a new account on the 11th. Set up direct deposit. My pay check on the 27th was deposited. However I STILL had not received my debit card. So my only option to access my money was a transfer. I linked my external bank, but a transfer would take like 3-5 business days. So I payed $35 for a wire transfer… that still took one business day, and since it was Friday I won’t receive my money until at least Monday! The app constantly logs me out. For an online only bank, the app is terrible. Customer service is average at best. When I called about the debit card not arriving after 2 weeks, all they could do was send another which is another 7-10 business days. Like uh heck no. You rush deliver that. Closing my account as soon as I can get my money out of there.

THEY CHARGED MY OLD CLOSED ACCOUNT AS WELL AS THE NEW ONE I GAVE THEM FOR THE SAME MONTHLY PAYMENT. PENALTY FEES ARE HIGH!!! CRIMINALS!! WATCH OUT!!!

They’re Incompetent. Once I involved my lawyers about inheriting their mortgage from my deceased Parent’s estate, they then began to give me information to make the monthly payments that they failed to provide me earlier. It was funny because they sent a notice of default on my inherited property due to one late payment!!! While this whole time they never responded to my incessant requests to get direct online access so I can make payments automatically all the while they charged me a few hundred dollars in late fees!! And this was one problem out of many. I could write pages!
Overall, I can’t say for sure whether they were acting in bad faith to find any reason to force a sale or they’re simply incompetent. They’re horrible. Don’t do it. You’ve been warned!

Don’t use this bank unless you never want to spend your money. Only 1 in 10 transactions go through and the rest are marked as fraudulent and I’m stuck sitting the the store and not being able to pay for my food. I go to the same stores each week and buy about the same amount from each and it still doesn’t work. I have to call the customer service to make it go through, but if it’s on the weekend, they‘re not even there!! I’ve had checking account at 5 different banks and this is the worst. DO NOT BANK HERE!!!

Terrible, HORRIBLE service, account keeps developing errors (logging in through app, account balance and transactions not available!) that are not fixed. Sometimes, like what happened to me, deposits are held up or refused FOR NO REASON, and then customer service doesn't even know why it was refused when you call! And then they tell you to send a message through the app with a picture and they will investigate and respond... DAYS LATER STILL NO RESPONSE! I have NEVER dealt with a bank with this crappy, ineffectual, constantly malfunctioning service before... that you cannot even get resolved. I'm canceling my account and going with a different bank. Avoid this bank like the plague.

Worst experience, very insecure and scamy bank. Luckily all they did was waste my time, but they have my info and the info of my family. This bank sends insecure login data to external banks. My login was sent to my bank not encrypted. My normal bank refused the connection. I used my bank to connect to Axos. While contacting Axos about the problem. Axos never responded to me. Their lack of concern worried me I tried to close my accounts. I assume they are closed because my login doesn't work. No other info was given. Save yourself the headache and don't associate with them
