I would not recommend this bank to my worst enemy! Truist has been an absolute nightmare to deal with. I have been dealing with this bank on behalf of a mutual customer for over a month. We have been given the run-around, they lost a very large payoff check, they sent the customer to collections and are still trying to collect more money on the payoff even after a new check was issued. We have been lied to and brushed off. They promise call backs but do not ever call. The level of unprofessionalism is beyond astounding. When I mentioned the effects on the customer's credit the agent basically told me that it was the customer's fault. I was mind blown. Save yourself a ton of trouble and hours of sitting on hold ( I personally can say I spent well over 3 hours on hold, total). Avoid this bank like the plague!

0 STARS. THIS IS THE MOST UNETHICAL, CRIMINAL, DISHONEST, LYING POS, FINANCIAL INSTITUTION EVER!!!!! Get every bit of your money and/or loans and mortgages out of this place as soon as you can.
These guys are criminals. I tried to pay off my mortgage. I was down to $3000. Called and got the payoff amount, $3200, but it "has" to be mailed to me in writing, or it can't be done. I didn't want to have this be my one and only late payment, so I figured I'd make one more online payment then as soon as it posted, then call and get the payoff in writing with the rest of the month ro spare. I paid $2900 on Friday, because they wouldn't allow me to pay more. That would leave a balance of $300. Tuesday is showed the payment posted and the balance owing was $500?!! I called to get the payoff in writing, and it is $700. An additional $400 in 4 days. And by the conversation you can tell they are setting me up. I have to tell them the exact day of the payoff or it's no good. In other words it's my responsibility to trust they send it in a timely manner and that the post office doesn't screw up. Clearly this transaction could done in a day over the phone, or online, instead of me having to agree to pay two more weeks of interest on top of the extra $400 they charged. Crooks!
This company is nothing but a crook everytime I get my car payment there is another additional charge on the bill. When they informed me of the merger that had happened 4 months before my notification two days before my payment was due. In the letter they informed me the merger had happened back in February 2022.. My payment needed to be sent to a different address with a different account number. This caused all kind of problems and resulted in Truist Charging me an additional $60.00 even though I was told by my bank they had resolved this issue and I would not be charged. I did not want to give them a resason to reposses my car so I paid it. My payment was not late. Even though I have a contract stating what my car payment is. Truist has now added a charge of $9.00 per month to for fees and services to my bill. This is outragious!!! You can not just decide after the fact that you want more money. I will be filing a complaint with the banking commission over their unethical behavor. It doesn't help that this bank has made it impossible to speak to a representive either. If you fight with their automated system and it finally agrees to send you to a representative instead of talking to a real person it hangs up on you. I rated this bank one star because I had to in order to rate it, but this bank is a zero in addition to being a criminal enterprise. Beware if you can I never wanted to deal with them and wish I had never heard their name!!!! If you bank with this entity you will regret it!!!
Truist sucks - if I could give it NO stars I would. I have been defrauded out of over a hundred thousand dollars. The FBI cybercrimes division and DOJ are even involved yet Truist "Fraud Claims and Investigation Department" has done NOTHING. I filed a claim. Was never contacted by them. I called them at least 2-3 times over a 2 month period. On June second I get a call asking why I checked a box on an affidavit THEY sent me that was already preselected. Answered question. That was it. I wasn't comfortable being told they didn't need the affidavits notarized so I went ahead that day and did it. Called back 2 hours later and was told a decision was made. CLAIM denied based on their investigation. NO INVESTIGATION was performed. NONE. A letter was sent to me dated June 2 that I received 3 weeks later saying they attempted to call me several times and that due to that fact and the lack of information the case would be closed. I CALLED TRUIST 2-3 times only to be put on hold for 30-45 minutes or transferred to the wrong department or better yet, hung up on at least 6-7 times. The "Claims resolution" department emailed and said they would look into this immediately and reevaluate my case because I had "new information." Basically they didn't do their job the first time. Or the second time because they sent the same letter, dated June 2. Truist did not investigate ANYTHING. I have since been in the process of switching banks. I just tried to log on to my Truist account which I am nearly at the end of and cannot log on because their website is YET AGAIN having technical issues. Truist has THE WORST customer service, technical capabilities, fraud investigation department and basically they do NOTHING but TAKE money from the consumers. I have seen NOTHING but complaints since the merge between BBT and Suntrust. I never in 20 years with Suntrust had ANY problems. Zero. Truist is now one of the 6th largest banks. A MONSTER. Why are they getting away with all of this? Letting innocent people be scammed and defrauded out of thousands of dollars? It's disgusting, immoral and sickening.

Everytime I try to use zelle, it says it isn't working right now. When I try to use planning, it says it isn't working right now. When does anything work with this bank? Right before the switch, I noticed just around $600 dollars was charged using my debit card. I know I didn't make those charges because I was sick and didn't do any shopping. The fraud dept. didn't find my claim to be correct.... pants on fire. When I have time to switch, I'm outta here. Truly they deserve a zero rating.

Banked with SunTrust for over 15 years with no issues. As soon as they merged into Truist, problems arose. They started with disabling outside transfers, preventing me from paying my bills. When I called, they said my account was frozen due to "fraudulent activity" despite virtually never using the checking account. With my entire life savings in the bank, they won't allow me to transfer out to another bank, claiming suspicious activity, and yet provide no way of verifying myself or the activity. They're just claiming fraud so they can keep my money; the same as all the corrupt banks in China right now. I've been on hold for over 6 hours the past two days am looking into taking legal action.
Stay away from this institution….. if you work hard and dont want a bank ripping you off with some larges, ridiculous random fees…. Do your banking somewhere else…after they took more of $300 dollars for my account… i call them and visit them…. After 2 months… theres no explanation for those fees and every time you ask for an explanation, they treat you in the most disrespectful, condescending and unprofessional way…. And if not experienced this yet…. Wait for it…is coming your way…..
If I could give this bank 0 stars I would! Let me start off by saying if you don’t want money taken from you I’d put your money somewhere else. I was scammed $300 and $500 and called the branch in Whitehall Pa the branch manager at the location wasn’t very helping but was so quick to say “good luck trying to get it back” when she told me to WAIT until posting. I notified them by phone the same day it occurred and didn’t like the answer I was given so I contacted the 1800 number and was told I am not sure why you were told that when you could have tried to cancel the transactions yourself before it posted. This is by far the worst experience ever as I was scammed and out my money!! NEVER again using this bank for anything. Please share so everyone is aware. TERRIBLE!!
You can redeem SunTrust rewards for statement credits, deposits into a SunTrust bank account, travel purchases, gift cards, or merchandise by logging in to your SunTrust account and navigating to the rewards redemption section of their website. You can also redeem rewards through the SunTrust mobile app or by calling the Rewards Redemption Center at (800) 255-7125. But if you redeem for travel over the phone, there's a $25 service fee.
SunTrust has three rewards-earning consumer credit cards, all of which accrue so-called “Cash Rewards credits” at different rates. You can start redeeming for cash back when you have the equivalent of $5 in Cash Rewards credits saved up. And if you redeem credits from any SunTrust credit card for a deposit into your SunTrust checking, savings or money market account, you'll get a “Loyalty Cash Bonus.” The bonus could be 10%, 25% or 50% of your redemption, depending on the balances in all your SunTrust deposit accounts. Higher balances mean a higher bonus.
There are differences between SunTrust's rewards cards when it comes to redemption, though. For example, the SunTrust Travel Rewards Credit Card will get you a better redemption rate on travel than the other two SunTrust credit cards. And cash redemptions into a SunTrust deposit account are always worth more than getting a normal statement credit.
As for the merchandise you can get with your credits, SunTrust has quite a few options: high-end sunglasses, Amazon gift cards and branded merchandise, event tickets, jewelry, handbags, FitBits, and more. If you don't have enough SunTrust Cash Rewards credits for an item, you can always use a combination of rewards and your credit card.
If you have any trouble redeeming your rewards, call SunTrust rewards customer service at (800) 255-7125.
No, there aren't any BB&T business rewards cards available anymore. But there are alternatives for business owners looking for lucrative rewards.
For example, the Ink Cash card offers 1 - 5% cash back on purchases and an initial bonus of $750 for spending $7,500 in the first 3 months. Another good business rewards credit card is the Capital One Spark Miles for Business card. It offers an initial bonus of 50,000 miles for spending $4,500 in the first 3 months. Plus, you can earn 2 miles per $1 on all purchases.
The BB&T credit cards offer rewards in the form of cash back and miles, depending on the card. The earning rate varies as well. For instance, the BB&T Spectrum Cash Rewards Credit Card offers 3% cash back on gas, 2% cash back on utilities and groceries on up to $1,000 of combined monthly spend, and 1% cash back on all other purchases.
The BB&T Spectrum Travel Rewards Credit Card, on the other hand, offers 2 miles per $1 spent on air, hotel and car rentals, 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases.
The BB&T rewards redemption options include merchandise, gift cards, cash back, airline tickets, hotel bookings, auto rental bookings, cruises, and more.
You can check on your SunTrust credit card application status by calling (800) 477-9702. Follow the prompts to be connected to a customer service representative who can help you with your inquiry. SunTrust will also send you a letter letting you know if you were approved or denied.
If your application is denied, there's still some hope left. Call (800) 477-9702 to ask for a reconsideration by explaining your particular situation. If that doesn't change the issuer's decision about your denial, consider becoming an authorized user on someone else's account.
You cannot apply for a SunTrust credit card anymore as the company no longer exists. SunTrust has merged with BB&T in February 2022 under the name of Truist. You can apply for a Truist credit cardonline, over the phone at (844) 487-8478, or at a branch.
Ultimately, it is worth mentioning that most Truist credit cards require excellent credit, which is a credit score of 750+. However, the Truist Enjoy Cash Secured Credit Card is available for applicants who do not meet these criteria.
