BECU traned my wife's credit for a gap in our insurance. A gap we didn't have, after several letters and phone calls we finanilly got their insurance on the phone, and both of ours. we proved that we had insurance, then the calls started all over telling us we didn't have insure after we proved it. more lettlers. Then I found out that they trased my wifes credit. Every week, someone calls and says Yes, I understand, It's why I'm calling, I want to help you. I don't have any other choice but to contact an attorney and sure them. They keep saying they just helping us, they aren't if they don't correct what is wrong and clear my wife's credit. I will never , never use them again

My dad worked for Boeing for over 20 years. 6 days after his death and without a death certificate BECU took remaining funds from checking and savings to pay their unsecured credit card. Even though the automatic house payment was scheduled they took the money. My dad's funeral has not even taken place yet. He was senior procurement manager for tooling and has many friends and suppliers within the Boeing community. I am expecting many many Boeing work related people to attend his funeral. BECU said its part of their deposit contract. I am ashamed of BECU's policy and handling of my dads interests. Shameful . I had to give it one star just to post this... as far as I am concerned they don't deserve even the 1 star.
I've been a BECU customer for over 20 years and it's been great until the last year. Customer service is almost non existent. I needed to do a wire transfer a couple of weeks ago and spent 1 1/2 hours on hold. Finally drove to the nearest financial center (10 miles) to do the transfer. Now today, there is a problem with a bill I paid through BillPay. I'm currently 42 minutes on hold to get the problem resolved. I think it's time to look for another financial institution. I can get the same service through my money manager (Fidelity) and I think that may be the solution but I really wanted a local business.
Their loans are set up like a checking/savings account with a negative balance. This makes it very difficult to auto pay because the best option is to use a 3rd party web transfer tool. These can take between 3 to 8 days to complete. The only other option is to use your employers bank deposits to pay but if you are like me and get paid every two weeks, it can be totally random when your payments hit. I have sometimes missed due because of this garbage.
When your platform HEAVILY leans on the competence of someone else's web transfer and an employer, it creates a very shaky relationship with your loaner.
In addition to that, the Boeing Employees Credit Union Credit Card has an introductory APR of 0% for 12 months on balance transfers requested within 90 days of account opening. Balance transfers requested after that are subject to the card's regular APR of 10.24% - 22.24% (V) (based on the specifics of your credit). Once the introductory period is over, your remaining balance will also accrue interest at the regular APR.
