Bridgewater is one of the most unorganized lenders I’ve ever encountered. There have been issues with the account twice in the last year, both of which were on their end due to poor record keeping, and the communication was horrendous—we weren’t informed of the issue for 3+ months, and despite changing our address on two separate occasions, it was never updated in a the system. Instead of informing anyone, they flagged the address as no mail to further limit correspondence. Looking into refinancing options as we speak.
If you are scammed they will not give you the late fees back even if you fix it the day it happens, they flag your card if you attempt to purchase gifts from another country, their exact words, allset
I have never been happier with a bank in my life! I had previously been a member of one the of the big name banks, (I won't name which one) and I was introduced to BCU by a friend. I was astounded at the lack of fees, as well as the rates and products offered. Needless to say, I rapidly switched my account from the old bank to BCU. The customer service is great, everyone's very nice and friendly. I haven't had any issues yet and if I do, they seem to be very helpful and accommodating from what I've seen from friends who use them. The only issue I have is the fact that I have to go to a branch to change my PIN number but the one I have is easy enough to remember, I shouldn't have to. I also really like their app they have, I use it everyday. All in all, I think that BCU has a business model that all the big banks should follow and if not, everyone should leave them and join BCU!
I have been a member for around 2 years now with Bridgewater Credit Union. I have to say I'm happy as a clam with them. They are superb in dealing with any issue I may have and are always quick to solve any questions I may have. The only down side is their main website is a bit lacking but the account area is superb and they have a mobile app as well which you can cash checks with. I just personally can't use it on my device. Other than that minor complaint they have free checking, competitive rates and are super friendly and I suggest them to anyone who wants to get out of the reach of the evil banks.
I recently opened an account with Bridgewater Credit Union via their website. My first problem was that they weren't allowed to withdraw the cash to open the account from my current account. Small issue since they have a branch next to my work. My second problem was my first debit card they gave me was unmagnetized and it took 2 phone calls and a visit to the branch to solve. A little over a week later I finally had a working card, although I'm stuck using the PIN they assigned to it since their phone service doesn't allow it to be done like that, unlike most other banks/credit unions.
On a more positive note, their tellers are very friendly and never seemed rushed in helping you while still getting your business attended to quickly. There's a free coin counting machine, so if you collect as much change as I do , you know the CoinStar fees you'll be saving. They also provide free coffee (Keruig) at least in the branch I have visited and sometimes they offer pastries.
Overall, once the account opening issues were dealt with, I'm happy enough with Bridgewater CU.
