- Redeem rewards on the go
- Send and receive money with friends and family using Zelle

To use the app after downloading it from the App Store or Google Play, tap the Capital One icon on your mobile device, then sign in with the same credentials you would use for your Walmart Credit Card online account.
What happened to the Walmart Discover card?
The Walmart Discover Credit Card was discontinued in the summer of 2014. This card was replaced by the Capital One Walmart Rewards® Mastercard®, along with a store version, the Walmart® Store Card. The Discover Deals shopping portal, which used to have special Walmart discounts, also closed down in October 2018.
Here's how you can use your Discover card at Walmart:
Discover credit cards are accepted as a payment method at Walmart. However, the fact that all Discover cards are Walmart Pay-compatible is closest you'll get to a Walmart offer for Discover cardholders. That means cardholders can use the Walmart Pay app to pay for Walmart purchases with their Discover credit card, without having to pull out the plastic. Discover card purchases made at Walmart and with Walmart Pay earn rewards as usual, too. But that's about it these days.
So, if you're a frequent Walmart customer, you may want to consider other options, too. You can check out some of the best credit cards for Walmart and see which one better suits your needs.
Is Capital One Venture a Visa or Mastercard?
The Capital One Venture card is a Visa. That means you can use your Capital One Venture at 44 million merchant locations in more than 200 countries and territories.
Here's what you should know about the Capital One Venture card acceptance:
- Card network-level benefits: The Visa tier that you will get will depend on your creditworthiness. If you qualify for the Visa Signature level of benefits, your Capital One Venture will include perks such as travel insurance, concierge services, and purchase protection, among other benefits.
- No foreign transaction fees: On top of the Capital One Venture's wide global acceptance, frequent travelers will also enjoy the card's $0 foreign transaction fee. That means you'll be able to use this card abroad without having to pay a surcharge on everything you buy. Cards with foreign transaction fees typically charge an extra 1% to 3% on international purchases.
- Other perks: The Capital One Venture card provides plenty of its own rewards and perks to complement the array of benefits offered by Visa. For example, the card offers 5 miles per $1 spent on hotels and rental cars booked through Capital One Travel, and 2 miles per $1 on all other purchases.
Ultimately, there are a few differences between Visa and Mastercard credit cards, such as the network-level benefits they offer, but those differences are relatively small. The two card networks have a lot in common, including extensive worldwide acceptance. As a result, it's more worthwhile to compare individual credit card offers than to focus on getting a card from a particular network.
How do I get Walmart Credit Card instant approval?
There's always a chance to get Walmart Credit Card instant approval when you apply online or in-store. If you're instantly approved for either this card or the Walmart® Store Card, you can use your card to make Walmart purchases right away.
Just keep in mind that Walmart Credit Card instant approval is never guaranteed. Usually, credit card applicants are instantly approved when they exceed a card's requirements rather than merely meeting them. In some cases, the issuer will have to take a longer look at your application to see if you qualify or not.
How to get Walmart Credit Card instant approval:
- Meet the basic requirements. You must apply online or in-store, be 18+ years old, and have a physical U.S. mailing address and a Social Security number.
- Check your credit score. Make sure your credit score is at least 640. Otherwise, your chances of instant approval will be slim.
- Review your credit reports. Dispute any errors so they won't hold you back from instant approval. And if you have a freeze on your credit report, temporarily lift it before you apply. Otherwise, the issuer won't be able to check your credit and approve you instantly. The issuer may pull from TransUnion, Equifax or Experian.
- Apply in-store. There are two places to fill out an application in a Walmart: at the register or at the jewelry counter. If you're approved after the issuer runs your credit, you'll receive a temporary card on the spot, which you can use in-store that day.
- Apply online. You can apply for a Walmart Credit Card online and get instantly approved. In that case, you'll get a temporary card number that you can use to make purchases right away.
Walmart Credit Card applications are typically approved or denied instantly, or later the same day. But if you don't get instant approval, it could take another week or two to hear back.
For example, your application might get flagged as fraudulent. Or, the issuer might need more time to verify your information. If that happens, you should call the application status line to get it sorted out as soon as possible. Once you're approved, it'll take 7-10 business days to receive your card in the mail.
How can I pay my Union Plus Credit Card bill?
You can pay your Union Plus Credit Card bill either online, via the mobile app, or over the phone at (800) 227-4825.
Paying online or with the app is the easiest way to do it. Simply log in using your credentials and find the payments section. You will have to provide your bank account and routing numbers to fund the payment. Online payments will post to your account within 1-2 days.
To make a payment over the phone, have your credit card number nearby because they will ask you for it.
Alternatively, you can pay your bill by mail; to mail in a payment, send a check or money order to the mailing address listed on your monthly credit card statement. Note that the issuer does not accept cash through the mail, and mailing a payment could take a week or longer to process.
