This company is the worst, after mixing up my mortgage with the previous owner of my property, failure to properly report to the credit bureaus, getting a constant runaround and speaking to a rude supposedly Sr Account manager, he questioned why it so important for them to report to credit bureaus and what reason I was giving them grief. It’s a total cluster F, to get a straight honest accurate answer from them. I wish my original mortgage company would not have sold my loan to them. FYI I’ve never been late nor had any modifications.

Carrington should not even have the privilege of doing VA loans. Their treatment of veterans is disgusting. My husband is 100% disabled. Therefore we don’t have to pay property tax due to his disability exemption. Our loan was sold to Carrington in 4/2022 we were able to make our payments fine until 6/2022 when they preformed an analysis of our account and without contacting us at all they raised our payment from $1716 to over $2400. We were unaware of this change until we went to pay our mortgage and the website would only accept the $2400 amount and would not accept the normal payment of $1716. We called Carrington the next morning and they would not accept the $1716 amount over the phone either. They said they would have to setup an escrow analysis and they would get back with us. We ask if our payment would be considered late and they assured us it would not since they were looking into it. After a week we had not heard back we called again and it was still being worked on. Again we ask if this payment would be considered late and again they said no. We called back 3 more times and finally they completed the analysis and our payment actually went down by a few dollars. We at that point paid both the June and July payments. Then we noticed that our credit score which was 795 dropped to 700. When we checked Carrington had turned us in as a late payment. We called and ask that this be removed and they refused. We called again and again they refused to remove the late payment. Now my score is 702 thanks to the late payment for Carrington. We have never in 30 years lbeen late on our mortgage. This is no way to treat anyone much less a veteran!!!

My mortgage was transferred to Carrington Mortgage Services 29 days ago. I have still not been able to set up online access to may account. Every time I call, I am told try again in a few days. I have been told my account has been sent to their Senior Account Specialist and their IT department. I have been waiting on a result from them for over a week now. I still do not have access to my account. I have a payment due in 8 days and have no access to my account. I have been told to try using MoneyGram to send a payment if my account isn't resolved by the time my payment is due. They said I could 'try' to make a payment over the phone, but when I explained to them that when I attempt to use the automated system to make a payment, I am told my account number is nonexistent and my phone number is not associated with any accounts. Every time I call, I feel like they are just "passing the buck" to a different representative. That is, when I am finally able to reach a representative as my shortest wait time on a call has been 18 minutes. If you have a choice DO NOT use Carrington Mortgage Services. My mortgage was transferred to them from a different company. I would never choose to use this company and I hope my mortgage is transferred to a different company soon. I would gladly go through the hassle of the transfer just to get a company that is actually competent.

BUYER BEWARE!!! I have a VA loan with this company, not by choice but because my loan was sold to them. They do NOT work with people who are in financial trouble, they go straight to foreclosure. Rather than trying to keep a veteran from losing his home, they would rather put them out on the street in the winter time. I have reached out to discuss options. Both times they claim that they don't have my contact information even though the time between phone calls was only a week. They are making a choice to avoid helping those who are in need. As COVID and the Recessed Economy have impacted so many, they are just unwilling to help. Don't have Carrington Mortgage Services have anything to do with your home. You very well may lose your home because of them. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Awful! They are trying to foreclose after saying I owed 2 months that were paid on time and trumped up late fees that were almost as much as a payment! Failed to apply my payments. Left my payments in "unapplied" for extended periods of time. Every communication produces different amounts due. Simply a scamming, thieving, rude company. Would leave no stars if that was an option.
Has this been resolved yet? My son just received notice and he has never paid late and even pays extra principal every mo.

Extremely poor customer service. Company does not know how to use digital communications. Screwed us over after 4 months of work on paperwork that *they* "needed". All the reps I spoke to did not understand anything more than "Your loan is up to date" and I retold my issues to more people than I can count.

They’re alright company to use but I liked the first company we originally got the loan through it was called mortgage first or something like that
Worst mortgage company I've ever done business with. They tell you one rate and then when it comes time to close they give a higher interest rate than quoted. They lead you on for 2 months and then you have no choice but to accept the higher interest rate or lose the house you want to buy. Unethical doesn't even begin to describe this horrible horrible company.
I was transferred to them in April 2022. Since being transferred, I found every person I spoke with extremely helpful. They have gone above & beyond to help us with a forbearance as my husband didn't have work for a few months & then also took the late payments and added them to the back of the loan, so that we can resume monthly payments without being reported negative to the credit bureau. My insurance was cancelled because they didn't make the payment, however, it was 100% my responsibility to update both my insurance & Carrington when the change happened in April, and I forgot. Carrington sent the payment over the same day when I realized the issue. Thank you Carrington for all your help & keeping us at ease knowing we are not losing our home.

This company is THE WORST. After offering me a forbearance during covid 19 like many other banks did, they reported my mortgage as being 180 days late at the end of the forbearance. I paid the house off in June and what they tried to do was foreclose on it, UNBELIEVABLE. I never had issues with them until I sold the house. All I want is them to report on my credit accurately!!!!!!!!!!
