My experiences with Choice Warranty have been very favorable. To start with, they tell you, in writing, what is covered or not so my claims have only been for covered items and they have never tried to bamboozle us. I also read the contract, before enrolling, and they were clear that covered items that can't be fixed are replaced. It would be unreasonable to expect an original "builders grade dishwasher that is 13 years old to be replaced by a super duper fully electronic 8-cycle premium model so they provided us with a fair value check that could be used toward any grade and feature model we wanted - which the original service technician installed at no additional service charge.
I have found that when any of my covered household systems, or appliances, broke down, I just submit a claim and get an instant claim number. Usually within a few hours, I get a follow-up with the name of the repair company, the appointment time, and all the contact information. No delays, no excuses about technicians being unavailable, no bait - n -switch (if you need a plumber they don't send an electrician), and they always follow up. At least from the Choice Warranty side.
The technicians are usually small, or 1-man independent contractors and as such this is where problems come in where the technicians have to change an appointment time, have to order parts, or get side tracked by a previous service call running over or an emergency arises delaying them from my problem. I recognize this is how they hold down costs but that is the reason for my rating.
Again, I have had multiple "claims" with Choice Warranty ranging from ceiling fans and garbage disposals, to appliances and air conditioning and in every case I have found them responsive, that they either repair or if need be replace the appliance or system, and they follow up on the technicians they send out. When my current contract runs out, I intend to renew with Choice Home Warranty
