Chase is a huge bank and you can find an ATM for them almost anywhere. Thats pretty much the only thing that made having them convenient. They charge you for whatever they can and have a monthly fee on their checking account. Their interest rates for loans are not great. When I went to close my account and tell them I was moving to a credit union they tried to talk me out of it and told me they only had low loan rates because they were desperate for customers and I should leave my money in their bank because it would be safer. Overall Chase is a decent bank but their services are quickly overshadowed by their ridiculous fees and the incentives to go with an online bank or a credit union are very enticing. If they want to compete they are going to have to do better.
Capital one's 360 saving account is a great tool. I was looking for a separate account I could easily open online within a few minutes. I wanted to be able to keep some money in another account that I could use for my business and didnt want the hassle of going into a bank and sitting down to sign papers. Capital One made the process very easy and they had no minimum balances to open and no fees. The website is easy to use and I can see my Capital One credit card balances as well as my saving/checking accounts all in one easy place. I also like the text message alerts you can set up to monitor your account usage and see what amounts are being withdrawn/deposited. The account has many handy tools you get for free. They also have a phone app where you can deposit checks. I don't know what else I could ask for, Ive been very happy with them.
I wanted a new car around December of last year and saw a commercial for EECU stating they had a 1.8% auto loan. I applied online and hit the wrong buttons and was denied. I was pretty upset because I have a great credit score. I got a call a few days later from EECU and the gentleman explained I had applied for the wrong loan and helped me through the process. I was impressed with the customer service and the great 1.8% interest rate I got and I love my new car!
I have both held AAA insurance and had to deal with them as the "other guy" in a car accident. I must say that the experience was pleasant on both accounts. The customer service is top notch and the agents that I dealt with were always kind and very patient. I was helped through the process of figuring out how to get my vehicle repaired when one of their insured hit me. They were very professional in their investigation as to who was at fault and treated me respectfully the entire process. When it was determined that their insured was at fault they promptly paid out the full amount of my estimate done by a local repair shop. I would recommend this insurance company due to their professionalism and willingness to compensate fairly.
