I own a small internet-based business providing literary critique and editing services to novelists and bloggers around the United States. I routinely have to print out manuscripts numbering hundreds of pages so that I can provide written feedback in the margins. The 10% discount from the Office Depot Business Store card saved me $50 right off the bat - my first purchase was largely paper, and I still have some stock from that initial purchase on hand. When I need related goods, I only shop at Office Depot, and I highly recommend this card if you have a strong need for these types of supplies in your line of work. I also have to do all of my own accounting and tax filing, and the monthly statements I get from Office depot greatly simplify this process for me. Almost all of my business supplies come from Office Depot, and being able to contain my business purchases on one account with a single, unified set of books, has been a big time saver for me.
My wife loves to shop at the Anne Taylor clothing store online, and this card offers a 15% discount in addition to a rewards program. With no annual fee, this card is definitely worthwhile. I would prefer a straight cash percentage program to reward card usage, as with the Capital One Quicksilver, for example, but the savings with this card are a true value. I think my wife will be applying for this one today.
The rewards program on the Wells Fargo Rewards card leaves much to be desired - they offer an ambiguous points based system, which I find difficult to translate into tangible value. I much prefer a simple cash back rewards program. In my case, with the Capitol One Quicksilver, I get 1.5% cash back on all purchases, including my rent and utilities. This discount adds up quickly each month, and I know exactly what I'm getting. The one advantage this card has is that there is no annual fee.
I love my Capital One Quicksilver! I use it for all of my purchases, including my rent and utilities - I simply pay my balance each month and get a 1.5% discount on everything I buy. That's $15 back for every thousand I spend, which adds up. I've had the card since February, and I have already been awarded a higher credit limit than I started with on this card. I definitely recommend selecting this one, if you are in the market for a new card.
Wells Fargo was the first company I ever banked with, and I am still with them to this day, mostly for the sake of habit and convenience - the interest my account earns is hardly worth counting. They waive my monthly fee because of my the minimum balance that I maintain. Additionally, they automatically transfer funds from my checking into my savings, which is a feature that I appreciate because it saves me time and reduces the number of financial chores I have each month. I particularly enjoy the online banking function - it saves me a great deal of time, and allows me to access my account information any time, anywhere.
