Horrible place to get a car loan! When you have problems with your account it’s always your fault and not theirs! They will not work with you to get it straightened out either
They took my car while i was in the hospital. They are not only the worst credit union they are also the worst financial institution i have ever dealt with. Wildly rude on the phone. They do not care about job losses death in the family or if you are hospitalized. Just give them the cash. Even it it kills you give them the cash. I would be embarrassed to even say i worked there. Run from this place. SOOOOOO MANY better options out there. Do not be like me and sign a really really really bad car loan because you need a car to live like anyone else. Honestly if you are offered a car loan from this bank when you are at the dealership RUN FROM THAT CAR DEALER! They only use DCCU to be able to force you to put a larger deposit down on the vehicle. Again. RUN AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM DENVER COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION

If you're thinking about getting their secured credit card... STOP! They do NOT report to all three major credit bureaus!!! The irony here is that their card touts as a credit building product to the community.
When asked why they didn't report to all three bureaus, I was told, "there is no mandate that requires them to."
I feel duped. Although, had I confirmed at the time, I'm sure they would have been entirely transparent about only reporting to two bureaus. My credit literacy was not where it could or should have been. I know much better now.
Let's take mortgage lenders, for instance. We know that some of them (if not most) will take an aggregate score of all three bureaus to better land at a comprehensive view of your creditworthiness. On the other end, it is also true that some might look at all three but still have a strong preference for one over the other. The same can be true for other financial industries, whether that's personal loans, auto loans, business loans, and yes, applying for revolving credit loans/credit cards, etc. The reality is, there are far too many scenarios that can easily depend on how any one (or all) of the major bureaus views your creditworthiness. Handpicking which ones count and which don't is short of malpractice of their secured credit card that's put in front of the community as a credit building product/service.
The nightmare gets even worse. I still have a secured credit card with a 2K limit (equaling the card's deposit). Some time later, after meeting their requirements for the deposit being returned, i was denied. And now short of two year later, my score has improved another 150+ points placing me comfortably in the “Excellent” credit range. I know I would qualify to have the deposit released now. Yet I don't even want to ask because it will be another inquiry on my report, which will undoubtedly hurt my score. I'd rather them keep the 2K at this point, which I've just had to come to terms with. I can cancel the card and take my money, but that also hurts my credit because closing accounts ultimately reduces the avg. lifetime of your credit relationships. So, I'm stuck in a pickle, and can't feel more terrible about having decided to use their product.
I have been a member of Denver Community Credit union since I was old enough to start working, almost 10 years. Since then, I have opened a savings and checking account as well as a loan to help pay for my car. I have always received great customer service anytime I have gone into the credit union and the drive thru makes things very convenient. I also enjoy the mobile app, although I wish there were more account features.

I've been a member of Denver Community Credit Union for over ten years, and I plan on staying. Denver Community Credit Union is such a wonderful credit union. I always speak to pleasant employees, from the tellers to the board members. Everyone I've spoken to there or over the phone is very competent and well aware of the procedures that the credit union follows. They're also currently running a program called the 5280 account which takes the change from every purchase made from you're debit card and puts it into an account that is gaining 5.280% interest. It's so easy and convenient! Not to mention that most credit unions will serve members from any other credit union. I would recommend this credit union to anyone living in Denver looking for a more personal, trustworthy banking experience.
Probably the best bank I've had in that I've never received any "unfair treatment" from them the way I did with big name banks in the past. I switched to them on the recommendation from a friend after some problems with insurance and loan issues with my previous bank and it's been plain sailing ever since.
Big fan of their website - it's really easy to use, looks great and covers all of their services. The branches are clean and friendly and all have drive thru access if you are in a hurry. Sandra at the branch on Acoma has dealt with all my small business banking for the last 3 years and has always done a great job. Cannot comment on loans as I have not had to use that service with them.
