Since they were paying less than 1% interest, I recently wire transferred my savings to a real bank-one that actually offers competitive rates. It was a nightmare!
When my funds had left EECU and not arrived at the new bank, I tried to check on the status with the EECU representative. I was once again asked to jump through more "security" hoops. Here was my response:
Actually, I am totally fed up with trying to do business with EECU.
I have wasted hours on the phone (mostly on hold) and on the Internet trying to communicate with EECU staff and deal with your messed up Docusign system.
In order to contact your wire transfer department, I first have to call your main number and wait on hold for 40-50 minutes for someone to finally answer and transfer me. Then, I hold some more waiting for a wire transfer department representative.
Now, you insist that I once again deal with your ridiculous pseudo security system in order to learn the status of my $60,000 wire transfer.
No thanks! I instead choose to completely terminate my business relationship with EECU.

Bank anywhere else but here. If you value your money, do not trust it to a bank that will fail to properly verify a check, allow the funds to be transferred, and then come back and tell you the check was fraudulent, at which time, instead of apologizing, hold you responsible for their negligence. Contrary to their name, they do not care about their community, do not hire competent people, and have direct contact information with a secret service agent because this happens to them all the time. If you bank with them, you risk them bankrupting your business or draining your life savings due to their own negligence. Does that sound like a bank you want to do business with?

We got a 1.79% rate on an auto loan which is great. After getting approved through an online form, they inform us we need to be members of their credit union. So we donate $10 to their credit union and now we're members. We want to auto pay our loan every month from our other bank. Nope, has to be paid from their bank. So we have to transfer money from our bank to theirs but we can only do that into their savings account. So they have to set up an auto-transfer from savings to checking so the car loan can be paid. They need an insurance form stating that EECU is on the title. We sent it and our insurance company sent it. They charged us $175 for insurance. I found that out when I logged in to see that the automatic car payment they said they set up wasn't paid. Even the employees acknowledge that everyone complains about these issues. Really? Who's in charge of this bank? We've purchased several cars over the years and have never had a single issue until using EECU. Pay a little more and go somewhere else.
If I could give 0 or less than 0 stars I would. I've been with this credit union for over 12 years and I have never had problems until the past few years. This is the worst banking experience I have ever encountered. They have put ridiculous holds on my deposits until after all my bills clear and I am in the negative, thus once the hold is up on my deposit most of my money goes to paying the bank back. I got a credit card with them and was managing it well, but fell on hard times when my dog got cancer. I obviously maxed out my card to save his life. I had gone into the branch to speak with someone about an issue about something and they turned it around to humiliate me in the lobby by telling me my credit card is past due and asked loudly if I wanted to make a payment when she could very well see my checking account with nothing in it. I had never been more embarrassed in my life. Fast forward to now, during Covid, I am self-employed but lost thousands of dollars of work due to quarantine. EECU has done nothing but move my pending charges around, not let my deposits through for almost a week and berate me about my credit card being past due. They will call me daily about it. They also denied my unemployment direct deposit this morning for "wrong account number". When I double checked my information, it was correct. I have barely been able to pay my bills or keep food in my fridge. I've been going in circles trying to get help. I have called them to explain my situation and I don't get even a salt grain of empathy. I unfortunately can not close my account as I need it to be able to send money back and forth with my parents. I am completely and utterly displeased with the treatment I receive. I had never been treated with more disdain. I will never recommend this financial institution to anyone. It's a joke.
great loan for credit rebuild. No credit check and reports to all bureaus. Your deposit becomes tour loan amount and can borrow up to 12 years. Highly recommend

In all fairness I need to update my review. I am upgrading from 2 stars to 3 stars. After about three months mobile deposits do have any holds placed on them. Perhaps it was because I was considered to be a new member but I was given conflicting information on the holds so I did not know what to think.
***(Original review)*** Compared to other credit unions they are not easy to work with. They put holds on all checks that are deposited thru the APP. This is frustrating because you cannot deposit a check and make a loan payment on the same day or next due due to a “mandatory 3-4 day hold.”
I've only been with EECU for 6 months now but I have to say this is the best auto loan experience I've ever had ! Easy payment arrangements and was thankful they gave me good loan terms with my average credit, Thank you EECU ! You have a customer for life !
