Embark Credit Union

After recently moving to Great Falls, I needed a new credit union, and heard good things from friends about the Teachers Federal Credit Union (now Embark Credit Union), and boy were they right! After struggling to maintain a high enough balance, and direct deposit, and monthly transfers and blah blah blah to maintain my "free" accounts, I had had it. Moving to GFTFCU was an easy seamless process, and I love that it (as all CU's) are owned by the customers, not a giant corporation. I love the friendly hometown service, and have nothing but great things to say about them. I recommend them to all of my friends!

After suffering various fees by the big bank, I moved my accounts to my husband's credit union. (They plan to change the name soon, but it was Teacher'€™s.) It feels good to get to a smaller home-town friendly place. They did have a little trouble getting my address right when I first started up with them. (That part didn'€™t inspire confidence.) Since then, though, everything has been great. The minimum balance is incredibly lenient. I have not encountered any fees. The online tool for banking is easy and straightforward. I love the community feel of the annual document-shredding party they hold in the parking lot, with free food, and smiles all around. It'€™s nice to be a member, instead of a mere customer.
