Hello ,My name is Dwight Cash. I have been banking with 5th 3rd Bank for about 6 months now. . Recently I have had the worst banking experience you can have. I went into the branch on Som Center rd in Willoughby Hills Ohio, and was trying to deposit some comdata checks into my business account. The teller and manager had no clue as to what to do or the process of depositing these checks. Eventhough, I told them the process(they Didn’t believe me) Tricia, under The manager Wendy's order re authorized my checks after I told them the authorization was already done. I also had told them to Call Joe, or Joy, or Aaron down at the 185th branch in Cleveland, Ohio. But they refused. So I had asked for my checks back and told them they would mess my account up and they disregared that. Now this has been going on for 5 days as of December 19, 2022. And now the fraud department is trying to close my account because of the tellers inability to do their job. Now I have nearly 30k on hold for no reason. I deposit these checks all the time. And not one has ever come back bad. I found out at the gas station trying to gas my trucks up for my drivers. So embarrassing. Im being penalized thousands daily because i dont have the cash on hand to fill all my trucks up. This is going to ruin my kids Christmas. My 13 yr old son and his mom were supposed to come visit for a few weeks over the holidays, but now I can't even send his mom the money because 5th 3rd bank has the money on hold. And I did absolutely nothing wrong or different than usual but go to a branch where my kind does not frequent often. I felt the tension and was so uncomfortable the last time I went in there when the manager Robert was hovering over me. He was really acting like he was waiting in line for a teller. Treating me like a hoodlum. Maybe it's how I dress. (Urban gear, hoodie and jeans) or maybe the color of my skin. The fact that I'm not sure is an indictment on the professionalism of this Branch. And the kicker is when I first approached the tell/manager Wendy today. I was very pleasant and respectful. The 1st thing she said to me was she was advised by the fraud department to call the police on me if I came to the branch, eventhough I told her the fraud department was who told me to come up there and get them to call and agree that the teller was responsible. But they don't want to take accountability, but I have Wendy on camera admitting it and it's on the banks camera. The see everything. Worst Banking Branch ever.

Fifth Third made mistake on CD's taken out by my parents but made me pay the price for their mistakes. When I asked to talk to a manager or someone in legal they would not give me any names or phone numbers. Fifth Third. The only bank you will NEVER need. Alan Buckey
Website is god-awful, I was able to do an autopay through my bank luckily. For some untold reason you can't set up autopay on the website if you don't have a 5/3 bank account. Giving 3 stars because they had the best rate during this horrible time, and then I received a notice via mail that they had reduced the rate just a bit which saves me 15 bucks a month.
Worst Banking Experience Ever !!! I received a replaceable credit card for a lost credit card and this “major” bank can’t find the credit card in their system! I also can’t access the new account online or by phone to even make a payment , and now I’m getting calls and emails about the account being past due , charged a late fee (of course ) as the original account was closed and auto pay disabled , seriously ?? There are plenty of great credit cards with great rewards out there , run as far from this “ bank” as you can. I am so happy I do not do any regular banking here !!, I am so baffled by this complete and epic failure I had to report it .
0 stars for this company. I got a car loan through them which is fine, the interest is not unreasonable for the times. The issue is their website/payment portal is completely useless. If you have a credit union outside of 5/3 bank you can't do automatic deposit. You need at least 2 days to have a payment to go through from an outside bank. So if on Wednesday you want Friday payment because you'll get a late fee on Sunday you are out of luck. The customer service is completely unhelpful. I asked them to send me my confirmation information on a payment to either my loan inbox or email they "did not have the ability " to do so, which is boggling in the 2022. Like you have a company email, you can screencap if for whatever backward reason you can't save basic information/ documents. I got an nsf from them and my bank because **I ** supposedly processed two payments back to back, despite only submitted 1 payment. This place has been such a garbage bank that I decided to just shell out the 30k and pay off my god forsaken loan. Except today was the withdrawal date I set up and behold money still in my account. So I go to my ledger, and "history requirement " is listed there. What in the world that means I don't know. No one has called and they're are no messages in my inbox or email about this, or if they want to confirm that I am showing that payment- which would be reasonable. Instead silence. I guess hoping I wouldn't notice so they can continue to charge me interest and hopefully get a late fee out of me. Absolutely do not recommend. Worst institution I have ever used.
Just wanted to comment that the late fee doesn't apply until 14 days past the due date.

Worst Company Ever -- Not Only Did they NOT notify me that they had purchased my loan from a previous Lender but then out of nowhere I get a "Spam Likely" call and the first thing they ask for is my Social Security Number. I have no reference to who they are and why I should give sensitive information to them. After looking into their company and finally confirming with the previous lender that they did in fact sell off my Loan to Fifth Third Bank I gave them my credentials but I turns out I was already delinquent because the acquired my loan 2 months ago with no knowledge of any kind to me as the Homeowner. My previous payments were setup on autopay so the monthly payments would always come out on time without EVER being late. Now I am starting with this new company already delinquent? I made the payment right away to avoid further delinquency that should not have been my fault and then asked to be setup with their auto pay department to further avoid any delays in future payments. After a 20 minute hold waiting for the person who could supposedly help me do that a very rude person finally picked up the phone only to tell me that I could not setup autopay without first filling out a special form that can only be faxed or snail mailed back to their company and they would then review the document in so many business days and snail mail me back that I was authorized to setup auto pay. This company has the worst possible customer service I have ever experienced.
Fifth Third bank took over my mortgage a few months ago and it has been a nightmare. I still don’t even have an account set up on their website, it functions terribly until it tells me to call customer service. Customer service is completely useless even if you’re lucky enough to get ahold of a human. We have mailed our checks into them, with letters asking for them to get in contact with us. I have to send literal LETTERS and they still don’t contact back. I know they got them, because they cashed our checks! It’s an atrocity that a business can function like this. Much less all of the other sleezy practices this company takes part in. Do a little reading on them.
Run as far from this bank as you possibly can. And if they buy your mortgage, I’m sorry and good luck.
In no world should you trust these clowns. They're a 2nd home mortgage servicer to us. Auto pay set up and paid for 4+ years just fine. We don't even think about it. Unilaterally changed the escrow without any notification. Marked delinquent for *new* $70 shortfall - again, no notice whatsoever despite the regular autopay being processed for old amounts successfully. 150 pt credit fall because of this. Will not use their brains to say they were wrong and pull back the credit ding. Why work with idiots who can't communicate, take your money and pretend you're at fault? There are other choices out there. Use them.
Literally makes it impossible to pay your mortgage. Have been hung up on multiple times. Trying to create online regisitry, I work at a tech company, this shouldn't be rocket science. I have owned 4 houses, many mortgage companies, and this is by far THE WORST of the worst to try to pay biills.
Incompetent & shady. They never reported my mortgage to credit beareau's. I asked them several times in 25 years of paying. Including 2x in person. When the time came to pay off mortgage by another company, they over inflated the principal & charged a $19 late fee when there was no late payments at any time. Calling customer service, means being on permanent hold. And when I finally got a person after 3 days, I got an attitude by Shaneequa or whatever her name was. She didn't like my questions so she disconnected the call. No surprise. They' think they're going to keep $600 of my money. Not happening. If you can avoid business with them, do so.
Yes, Fifth Third Bank and all other major credit card issuers report account information to the three main credit bureaus. They typically do so within a few days of your statement date.
A good credit score is needed for the Truly Simple Credit Card.
Besides your credit score, the issuer will also look at your income, existing debts and credit history. This way, they can make a better decision about whether or not to approve your application.
If you lost your TRIO Credit Card, call (800) 782-0279 immediately to report it. Your card will be canceled and a replacement will be sent to you.
It's important to report a lost or stolen TRIO card as soon as possible, since it offers $0 liability. This way, you won't be held responsible for any unauthorized charges made to your account.
