First Commonwealth Bank

I applied for a credit card from CommBank. I travel a lot and the card they were promoting provides Qantas frequent flyer points which would have been handy.

After applying, I was barraged by a series of unreasonable requests and though the statement and tax office summaries were more than enough, they kept asking for more, as if they don’t want to do business. I eventually got fed up and withdraw my application.

The other thing, they have a very fractured communication. For example, you send them 3 documents, they look at only one. Or they ask for a response but they don’t read it. And when you eventually call them, they can’t see all previous communications.

They offered me a Loan of $2000 and told me in order too build my Credit they Will make 2 deposits into My Account....One For $250....Once I Receive that I Go Too Any Store and Purchase a Green Dot Card and Put the $250 On too that Card and return it Too Them....Now We All Have Smart Enough Brains too Know That That Suggestion of the Transaction being Made back too Them on a Pre Paid Debit Card is a HUGE RED FLAG SCAM

This bank likes to lie and provide you with false information, in addition they try to use scare tactics against you. I would not recommend them to anyone for any auto loan.

I have been using FCB for several years so, when they offered to lend us money for our new home in WV I stopped working with the bank that prequalified us and went with FCB. They missed the closing date by over a week and, had we not raised holy heck with them it would have been over two weeks.
This issue caused us to put our furniture into and out of storage at an additional cost of over $5,000!! They would not help with the cost and were unsympathetic to our problems. They knew the day they took our application that they would probably not meet the closing date but, rather than be honest with us the led us down the path and we were STUCK with them. There's not much one can do when three days before the scheduled close you are told, "we won't close for two more weeks at best. I should have explained better how the bridge loan works, I guess."
I don't recommend the Mortgage department at First Commonwealth Bank!!!!

Horrible. They mess up my sons loan payment EVERY. SINGLE. MONTH. Completely and utterly unprofessional and terribly unorganized. We have to refinace just to get rid of them.

Worst bank ever! Told different things by different people at the bank. They flat-out lied about having gotten in touch with us about our loan. That’s the thanks we get for being a loyal customer for years. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else for your banking needs!

When I first got started with my auto loan, everything was fine. I received correspondence by mail with my correct address and got auto payments set up. I have not received any form of correspondence since. NONE. I just see that my back account is debited every month. So today I tried to call and get my balance and I order to verify my account I had to recite my address. They told me it was incorrect. I said that it was the same one on my mail they sent me 2 years prior when I opened the account. She said there was nothing she could do, no other way to verify my identity. I offered to give my ss number, nope. I have lived at the same address for 16 years, the only way my address got changed is someone in the bank had to have changed it without my knowledge. They are refusing me access to my account and won't let me even change my address because I can't give them the one they have on file.

Changed policy and changed online resources at the same time. What used to be a great bank to work with has now become a pain on a daily basis. They changed the on-line banking experience which has now destroyed the simple ability to balance your account. AND, they changed their hold policy which means more customers may be unaware they are over drafting. Looking for a new bank after 10+ years... darn it.
