During an in-person bank visit, I recently asked the Fort Myers, Florida, branch staff to help with a question related to a check deposit that was placed into an unknown account. In short, none of the staff knew what the account was, wherein my check had been deposited. They stated bank records didn't go back that far, which was Sept 2022 (about 4 months) even though I was presenting them info from my online account. Then, they queried me as to why it was so late after September that I was asking about the account, while 3 branch staff stared me down. That question had no relevance whatsoever to helping me understand where my check had been deposited. One staff member plainly stated she did not know what the account stood for but would ask for assistance from another department and get back with me. After two days, I never heard from her, so sent a follow-up email message. Final answer, she discovered the account was actually a teller deposit account used when checks are cashed rather than deposited. The inability of any staff to properly assist me was clearly indicative of poor training, and even poorer customer service. Additional beef with First Horizons..., after repeated in-person attempts, they cannot get my updated debit/ATM card activated. They typically ignore customers who visit their empty lobby while they keep their heads down and plunk on their keyboards. They never place deposit envelopes in the night depository supply appurtenance. Opening a new business account took approximately 2 hours, including repeated interactions with multiple staff so the primary staff person could get assistance. That experience occurred during a low customer presence period, so I can't imagine how long it would take with a heavy customer presence. And on, and on...for a multitude of terrible bank customer service experiences indicative of staff ineptitude and/or indifference. Technically, I recently deposited a $270 check via an ATM machine that credited my account for over $24,000.00! A few months later, and internal correction had to occur to address another ATM deposit their ATM machine had made. The bank is now in about the 4th name change (ownership) due to repeated mergers/acquisitions, and the incompetence and indifference of the staff has become intolerable. We will begin moving our funds out of the bank this week.
First Horizon Bank has lost another customer. This bank has gone downhill very quickly. I deposited a refund check from a local reputable auto dealership here in town. Memphis TN. This check was deposited on Tuesday January 17. This check is still pending in my account even though I was told by 4 customer service representatives and sent an email that said my funds would be available today which is the 19th of January. This is a refund on a car that the dealership could not get parts to honor the warranty. I have lost out on 2 car deals because I cannot access my own money. I will be closing my account and going elsewhere.
This bank is the worst financial organisation that I have experienced in making an international transfer. I started to get a transfer 10 days ago and I still do not have my money. Communications are dreadful with no sense of urgency. The customer solutions were a total cover up on errors made with the Regional President more protective of a branch manager who did not fulfil the full transfer arrangements. Customer care requests to the Regional President were not supported with an over protection to the Bank. I would advise steering clear of this bank.
The last few years I have had the WORST service with First Horizon Bank. The latest - yesterday, I'm attempting to CASHAPP someone after I've already sent them two earlier. It was a contractor doing legit work for me. The 3rd transaction didn't go through because 'they were trying to call me and I didn't have a legit phone number on file'. Why? I never changed my phone number literally nor for the bank records. After getting THAT resolved, I attempted to send $13 to the same contractor to reimburse him for supplies via Zelle. Red message...cannot send. I called First Horizon and the 1st person was going to look at my account. Probably 15 minutes later, I get another guy on the phone (with no warning nor explanation) only to tell me they would have to have someone in another department to help me. I spoke to 'technical' and then was told there is nothing they can do....if it's a red message I have to wait until tomorrow. Really? It's bad enough the bank limits $500 for Zelle transfers. I have two other accounts at Bank of America and I'm monitoring. with all the local First Horizon bank closings as well as limited ATM machines, they're about to lose all of my accounts and credit cards to B of A. First Horizons is NOT what First Tennessee used to be!
I been with this bank all these years and can't get a loan my checks go direct deposit and I still can't get a loan other banks give there people loans and a lot of them don't even have jobs

They deserve " no stars." Worst loan I have ever taken out. Horrible service. I would never recommend this bank to anyone. Seems every m9nth since I have taken this loan out it has required adjustments.
I got hacked twice at this Bank. Three debit cards and a 30-day period of time. I was locked out of my account so many times I can't even remember. Forget trying to get all the customer service that's about an hour of your life you'll never get back. Tried to take my money and leave. They still have 3,700 of my money. I wrote a check for $3,000 to another bank to open a checking account they put a stop to that when there was funds in the bank. Look up first horizon lawsuits.. TD Bank is trying to buy them. Both banks are deceptive. Stealing if you're a bank is a civil suit. Elizabeth Warren is trying to stop the sale of this bank for a reason. American corporate corruption. The federal government is allowing this to take place.. this has been ongoing for more than a decade. When you're allowed to swindle and steal more than the penalty will be there's no deterrent to crime.. it's disgraceful what American capitalism has turned into. The sale of this Bank should absolutely be stopped.. mortgage fraud that the American people have been put on the hook for to pay. Confiscating account holders checkings accounts because the federal government allows them too.. corruption and crime is the string that raises the American flag.. this is only part of the reason America has so many enemies.. Mitch McConnell and the Republicans should pay dearly at the pole don't let them have one seat of power stop them.. total corruption wrapped up like a burrito in the American flag that is not who we are it is who they are.. every American should be ashamed of the government and ashamed of the institutions of the United States.. I feel sorry for the American armed forces on a misguided attempt of patriotism..
By far the most unprofessional customer representatives that you could ask for. Trained very poorly. Can not answer a fourth of the questions that you have for them. Will hold checks for weeks at a time. I would not recommend this bank to anyone ESPECIALLY if you are a traveler.
This bank is dangerous. I just found out that they have given two of my rental tenants our full account number. Just handed it over to them. The first one I found out about just happened a couple months ago. The second one I only found out about because I asked everyone. They have had our account number for over a year. And these number were given out at two different locations. The Ocoee Crossing and the 25th St/Chambliss location in Cleveland, TN. DO NOT BANK HERE.
