This bank is a joke. Over the past few months I have made online purchases and First Security in its infinite wisdom decided it was a fraud. It happens unbeknownst to me and then when I try to make a local purchase at a store or gas station, the card is declined. To make matters worse, they are only available during normal business hours so there's nothing I can do until the bank opens.
This has happened to me 6 or 7 times. The most recent happened A WEEK AGO and my card is still getting declined even though I have several thousand dollars in the bank.
I'm migrating to a new account at BECU and they do it the right way: if there is a purchase over a limit YOU set, they don't decline it, they email you and tell you that if it's fraud to log in to the account and report it.
They denied me a loan based on my credit, even though I had more collateral than the loan, and paystubs that proved I could pay the loan back. I talked with zack at the bank in downtown fort smith. I argued it because I had enough collateral to make it so they would be better off if I did default, and zack was very unprofessional. The argument got heated, so I hung up on him. He called me back and said they are canceling my checking account. I repeat, they canceled my checking account because we had a disagreement. When I went to the location to pick up my money, there were three police officers waiting for me. They didn’t arrest me or anything crazy, the bank just called the cops to intimidate me. If you don’t believe me, this happened September 17, 2022, at about four o’clock. You can call the bank and ask, or the non emergency line, and they might be able to tell you about the incident. Or you could argue with zack and find out for yourself.

Horrible Bank. Horrible practices. They WOULD NOT ALLOW me to wear a MASK indoors. (Springdale, Sunset location - 8-12-21) With the COVID Delta variant spreading like wildfire. This bank literally REQUIRES that you RISK YOUR SAFETY AND WELLBEING if you want to bank there. DISGUSTING!
In addition to the willfully ignorant HEALTH RISKS they force their patron to take, they will not cash PAYCHECKS (from local businesses, national banks and current account holders) without hold. They have a limited number of "services" available to "lesser accounts" and Incredibly RUDE staff.
We were actually told to LEAVE and go bank at Wal-Mart if we didn't like the way they do business! (AKA Requiring that you risk your life in order to bank there. NO tellers were wearing masks either! Apparently they are NOT ALLOWED?!?!?)
Will be contacting the Board of Health as well as the FDA and BBB and reporting this bank to anyone and everyone who will listen! WORST. BANK. EVER.
Unwilling to work with you an will report inaccurate information to your credit report. I would not recommend this card to anyone that’s needing to rebuild there credit.
First Security Bank made our purchase of an existing house so easy. Roxana Buck at the Emma St. Springdale, AR branch was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and worked beyond expectations through the whole process. In our experience, she was timely and professional, and helped us get into a loan that would fit our needs and budget.
There is a very limited market for mortgages for manufactured homes and this bank was recommended to us by Detrays in Puyallup. We have had nothing but problems from the beginning when our home was being built and this lender (Dave P.) described our contractor as his friend and we subsequently had unauthorized payments being made to him for work we questioned. Since then we have had multiple issues with materials coming to the wrong address (which we have corrected at least six times!). This caused the cancellation of our home owner's insurance at one point. Most recently, we did not, for some reason, receive information about the increase in our escrow payment until it was too late to make it up which forced a significant increase in our monthly payment. Last month there was a mixup in the electronic payment which led to an overpayment by us of $944. We are senior citizens on a fixed income and this amount of money makes a big difference in our monthly budget. I requested a repayment on Aug. 2nd at which time it was suggested that I "just leave the money there and apply it to next month's payment." I explained that we need that money to make our monthly budget and was told that a check would be issued to us (the money had been electronically withdrawn from our Wells Fargo account but I was told it could not be electronically put back into that account?). As of today, 8/24, we still have not received the refund check. I called to confirm, once again, that they have the correct address, was told the check would have gone out "around" the 7th (not able to tell me exactly when) and we resolved the issue by supposedly voiding that check and leaving the funds there to apply to our next mortgage payment, which was what they wanted initially. Customer friendly? I don't think so...definitely not a friend of Senior Citizens!!
I'm currently a member of First Security Bank Free Checking. We have used First Security for ten years, and I absolutely love our bank. The checks are reasonably priced and the employees there are so friendly and helpful. I can order my checks from my phone or personal computer, easily and even choose from many different options. We recently moved and there isn't a First Security Bank in the city we now live in, but it hasn't stopped us from using this bank. Everything can be conveniently done online, so there really is no reason to switch. I'm overall very happy with our bank, and I would recommend this bank to any of my friends or family members.
We have had a bank account with First Security for around nine years. They have amazing employees that are so friendly and helpful. We recently moved and where we live, there isn't a First Security bank, the closest one is forty-five minutes away. We still do all of our banking through First Security. They truly are the best!
