I bank at First Virginia Community Bank and highly recommend that you check into moving your business or personal accounts. The people are very friendly and helpful. They hire experienced people, who understand banking and customer service. Moreover, they offer free checking accounts and do not nickel and dime you to death like many banks do. Give them a call at one of their locations in Virginia or Maryland and you will be writing a review like this one.

First Virginia Community Bank Free Personal Checking is, and has been, the only checking account that has ever consistently done what I've wanted a checking account to do, which is to keep my money and allow me to access my money without errors or fees. It's basic and there aren't a lot in the way of frills, but that's fine by me. I don't need all that stuff, and I'm certainly not willing to pay extra for the benefit of having them. With First Virginia, I have a checking account that is free and basic. Nothing more, nothing less. And, I've never had any kind of serious issue, so I'm satisfied.
I have had a checking account at First Virginia Community Bank for a few years now, and the best I can say about it is that it's adequate. My biggest complaint is that my debit card is a Mastercard. I do a good deal of online shopping, and many online stores don't accept Mastercard. Everyone that I have dealt with have been very knowledgeable and friendly however. The sign-up process was very quick and easy as well. I am the most happy about not having to pay any monthly fees or maintain a specific balance. The overdraft fees are also not that bad.
I have a First Virginia Community Bank Free Personal Checking account, which I've used for almost five years. It's actually quite awesome, because it gives me everything I need for banking and there aren't a lot of fees to worry about. I've never had to pay a monthly fee for my checking account, and First Virginia Community Bank is one of those good guy banks that doesn't charge you for using another bank's ATM. Basically, it does what I want, and considering some of the very negative experiences I've heard from friends and family at their banks, that's more than enough to keep me satisfied.
First Virginia Community Bank is a wonderful bank, and I highly recommend them to all of my friends, family members, and acquaintances. The application is very simple and quick to fill out. They have many types of checking accounts, savings accounts, loan types, credit cards, and more. I have a savings account with them that I use as my primary account. I try to use cash for every day purchases, so my checking account activity is limited. However, I have no fees to pay, no minimum balances, and direct deposit is offered. I love how short their lines are, and parking is ample.
I don't know why I ever paid for the privilege of operating a checking account with my old bank when First Virginia Community Bank Free Personal Checking costs me nothing and gives me so much more. I don't ask for anything in the way of frills or special features. I don't ever use checks and I rarely withdraw. I just want something simple and functional, something I can use without ever really thinking about. That's what First Virginia Community Bank gives you. It's great for people who sometimes have to maintain low balances, because the bank doesn't punish you for being poor when that happens.
