Stuck me with medical bills they should of covered after I moved. The rep that set me up failed to do her job.I went to get glasses well they paid for the glasses not the exam so i was stuck with a $400.00 bill.All so i ended in the ER when I visited my kids they only paid around $79.00 of the bill.My primary doctor they are very good taking care of me and good paying my meds.I hope United HealthCare figures the issue.

Their website shows a medication is approved, but when I attempted to fill it, it was denied. How are they allowed to operate that way? They are only interested in finding ways to deny claims. I looked at a recent job posting at their website and the word denial appears 14 times. It's the fourth most used word in the job description. That should tell you everything you need to know about this company. A company I might as that has had record profits the last three years. I guess all those denials can be pretty lucrative.

DO NOT sign up with this company, I’m going on 3 months paying for my prescription because of them saying they haven’t got pre-authorization! I was in my doctor office when they faxed it! They are liars and I can’t wait to sign up with a different company. It applies to narcotic medications. It’s shameful!

Wow, has this company fallen! My most recent experiences were awful: the phone tree is glitchy (disconnected twice), poorly trained and sometimes rude reps, language barriers, lots of background noise on the call, and return backs promised but never received.

I have only been with this company for 16 days it is the worst insurance & experience with an insurance company ever. Their customer service is non-existent and they barely cover anything. RUN if you get a call from them.

UHC is a JOKE, been with them unfortunately for 5 years!! First off you can NEVER get anyone on the phone, even after you sit on hold for over an hour, if you are lucky enough to get someone to answer they either can not find your information or they have to transfer you AGAIN!! I DO NOT GET MY INSURANCE FOR FREE, I DO PAY FOR IT!! When you doctor prescribes medication or orders scans they WILL deny it if the cost is too much and want u to try alternatives, after many failures of the alternatives my DOCTOR ordered CT scan for my Migraines, THEY DENIED THAT, and want me to try MORE medicines that are NOT working!! I can understand if my dr is prescribing medications that Dea is not wanting to give out, but this is not the case, this is a migraine PREVENTUVE MEDICATION, might I add that I was getting FREE thru a program with that certain medication, so happened that they check with insurances wvwry so often to see if they will cover...well UHC said they would cover, so I get kicked out of program and then UHC denies the approval 1st because THEY had ne listed as a male, their mistake, got that fixed , let me say I had already been with them for over 4 years at the time and didn't have any trouble with dr visits or other meds, well then they denied a 2nd time saying I needed to try a list of 10 diff meds for at least 2 months, been on 6 of those for 3 weeks and have not went more than 3 days without a migraine..and have to go to work, one of the meds they had listed had me so loopy I couldn't get out of bed, needless to say my dr doesn't want to prescribe anything else, so he orders a CT Scan...DENIED!!! WHY??? Because they have their own Dr. That goes over what our Dr's order and decide whether to reject or accept. It is a racket and my opinion WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANYONE TO GET INSURANCE WITH THEM!

United Healthcare is a joke of a company. My company only allows for two plans both of which offer national coverage because we are a remote company. Somehow they put me on a plan that only offers coverage in the Tri-State area and now are trying to say it's my fault when this wasn't even an option I could have signed up for. I reviewed the policy prior to signing up and looked at the covered providers and everything was fine. Their support team does absolutely nothing and won't escalate the issue when they clearly made an error on the backend.

Telephone House Call Bait and Switch - I was asked to be called for a telephone house call which took place in mid-December 2022. I would receive a $50 gift card for the house call. I have followed up at least 5 times and to this date - May 2 2023 - have not received the gift card. I suspect it is BAIT and SWITCH or someone is stealing the gift cards. Every time I call the representative tells me it will be sent out to me. Duh? Very disappointed with United Healthcare AARP.

Cobra coverage is the worst and not up front how the plan works. Reject claims as coverage expired even though you have active coverage.
