Terrible company to deal with, months of runaround on claim, original agent left company, no handoff, hard to talk to a person stay away!!!

I have just spent almost three months dealing with a claim. We had to evict a tenant, the tenant did well over $25,000.00 in damages, we called and they sent and adjuster, we had our contractor meet their adjuster, he got them the quote for repairs within 5 days, hippo claimed in short that he did not detail it enough. They offered us $5000.00, after deductible we would get about $3000.00. We involved the state. I am seeing here that there are other reviews similar to where the adjuster interrogates you, we had the same experience. She also was just completely disgruntled. The average response time was around 15 days to get anything back in email from our adjuster, she would then always claim she did not have something, finally they sent me a letter saying we were "non cooperative" with their investigation and that I had not provided the things they requested, best part of this is we had already provided all things they had prior requested. Today I received word from the State(I involved them after almost 30 days of no response from our adjuster) who I am equally disgusted with that we lost our battle so I will have to magically front 20K in cash. The state did the same thing and interrogated us and said we did not provide a quote that was broken down enough, I have been around contractors for over 20 years and no one hardly ever(Especially right now with inflation) will break down a door cost versus labor. My state is Kansas by the way so beware.. Do not use Hippo, their "senior" adjusters are jokes and customer service is the worst I have seen, I have over 25 polices with providers and have never experienced this. There is obviously more details to the story but I do not have the time to write it all out.

I called them to get homeowners insurance.The first representative that was assisting me was yawning through our conversation, he sent me a link and told me to upload photos of my house room by room. When trying to use the link to upload my photos they failed to upload. I called a second time and got another representative in which his name was Al, he resent the link in which I tried using again,the photos still failed to upload. He said I don’t know what to say,I don’t know why this is happening, so I said if you don’t know, how would I. I said maybe I should go with another company that knows what they’re doing and he said yes maybe you should. i’m glad this company is doing so well that they don’t need new business and they can afford to lose new customers. I’m convinced everything happens for a reason and this is clearly a good enough reason to stay away.

Worst experience I've ever had with any company. They took their escrow payment out of my personal bank account TWO DAYS before it was scheduled to be paid out of my escrow account.
After 3 separate hour long phone calls over the course of 3 days the best "solution" they could come up with is to cancel my policy and issue a refund that could take 2 weeks to process. That's 2 weeks that I can't buy food for my family or even put gas in my vehicle to get to work. I explained all that to them and they just don't care. I see where they got the name hippo. I can not suggest strongly enough to take your business anywhere but here. Literal criminals

Horrible insurance. Had a sewage line bust in our basement. Called Hippo and they couldn’t send someone out for 2 weeks. Seriously??? After that BS I called and got new carrier. You definitely get what you pay for. Insurance overall is a scam in itself. But Hippo is no good at all.

After being a customer of Hippo Insurance for over 2 years, my storage unit was sadly broken into and vandalised- and naturally, I filed a claim.
The ridiculous interrogation with hippo's insurance adjuster was nothing short of a person who had just murdered someone and this adjuster behaved as if I was the perpertrator !!!!!
For example: He asked: 'what made you go the storage unit that day" ??
2 months later, after all this nonsense- i asked for Hippo's CEO's email- no reply. After 2 weeks , I did my own research and found the CEO's email, who at least responded- but handed me off to a senior team to elevate this claim.

After almost 2 months, the original adjuster: Josh Jones, acting as if he's a sheriff emailed me: " We need to speak to all your contractors who were working on the home, that you had a need to remove your items and place them in storage" and as if that wasn't enough- they needed to speak to my HOA management company. Why do any of these questions matter??

WHY would you take all my premiums for 2 years, and as a homeowner who has been violated, police report filed et al...- Hippo was making ME to be the perpetrator? This company is a total scam & needs a class action lawsuit/

As an educated adult- my advice to anyone getting their insurance- DON'T DO IT!!! I walked away as I am disgusted dealing with them- and their ploy is to just stretch out the story, instead of taking the claimant's story and photos of the damage!

I have had it with Hippo, it's been a nightmare with this company and I'll leave it at that! We will be contacting the BBB as well as our lawyers.

They sent us an email saying our policy was cancelled even though we asked them to wait because my mortgage provider decided to send their payment by mail. Their customer service reps insisted that there was nothing they could do to reinstate the policy.

After I filed a complaint to the BBB, they suddenly changed their tune and allowed us to renew the policy. But they were still extremely disrespectful in their response to my complaint, insisting that the policy was never interrupted, despite the screenshots I provided of my email exchanges with their reps and the email stating our policy was cancelled.

Choose another provider. Their customer service is uncooperative and is flat out disrespectful. They have no integrity.

They cancelled my policy for non-payment even though the bank lender sent the payment from escrow before the due date and Hippo confirmed payment was sent. They issued a refund to me (not my escrow) so I have to sort all that out. Happened 2 years in a row. Do not recommend

My adjuster has been horrible. I'm thinking of suing Hippo. I'm dealing with Tamaria Lovick. She has been horrible. It's been 3 months and they always ask for something else. It's like they're really trying to deny. Have had me and the mitigation company send documents and pictures like 4 times. Completely lost track of my claim. This is major bs.
