Spent 7 hours yesterday fighting them and tmobile over a replacement phone that got cracked and damaged. They gave a wrong tracking number that won't load, made paying the deductible almost an impossible feat, kept nagging over a pin which tmobile forced updates erased from their system and tmobile had the wrong phone listed on the account

On December 25 2022 at 8 am, a faulty sprinkler system at the apartment sent a torrent of water through the apartment burst pipe, displacing my family and me from the apartment. Pipe Burst has caused personal property damage stress and discomfort to my family displaced by the leaks. I follow the claim, claims examiner refuses to comply and pays the full amount which is $5000 according to my insurance policy covering lost furniture.

I wish I read the reviews before I purchased the insurance. A week after water damage to our apartment, they won’t return the call. They won’t reply to emails. No more assurant and no more Geico insurance. They should be made illegal.

Worthless customer service, don't give them a penny they will waste your time and make you do all the work. Promised free Samsung Care only to have to pay 99 pounds up front, forced to backup and wipe my phone before giving it to them, no text or call when they received the device, no loaner device provided - it's 2023! A 750 quid flagship phone is not a bag of chips, learn how to provide customer service and actually pickup your phone when I call, not put me on hold for 45 minutes then hang up on me! Pigs.

Had a sofa that developed a tear and when I put in a warranty claim it was initially approved, then denied a day later before a service technician could even evaluate the damage. After reaching out to Assurant all I receive is generic messages "Based on the information provided, it appears the damage you reported is not a covered issue." with zero helpful information.

I reported a claim for a stolen e-bike in October of last year. Two weeks later I received a lowball settlement offer from the Assurant adjuster in the form of a URL link, which didn't even work. This offer was less than half of the replacement value of the bike, which is what they claim to provide in their advertising. I rejected the offer via email, and haven't received any communication from the adjuster or anyone else at Assurant since. I sent several follow-up emails which were also ignored.
It would appear their business model is to make an unacceptably low settlement offer and then simply ignore the policyholder until (fingers crossed) they give up and go away. I don't know how this company manages to stay in business, considering its two core competencies seem to be a) cashing premium checks and b) ignoring its customers. I can only assume they decided to treat me this way because this is the insurance that came with my dorm for school, so they figure I’m an easy target given the resources of most college students. In my case, however, this strategy will fail because after I post these reviews, I will take them to small claims court.
Needless to say, after my experience with Assurant, I can't recommend them to anyone who is interested in purchasing rental insurance.

SO DISRESPECTFUL> MADE A CLAIM OVER 30 DAYS AGO and NOT 1 PERSON HAS ACKNOWLEDGED ME>>>>>>MAKES ME SICK BUYER BE DOUBLE TRIPLE AWARE ON THIS COMPANY GUARANTEED SEEING A MAJOR CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT /CLAIMS SETTLEMENT COMING FROM THIS COMPANY....... I wish I could say STAY AWAY, but unfortunately, nobody reads these reviews until they get wronged themselves…wish I would’ve known to look up their reputation BEFORE getting phone insurance, but lesson learned. I’ve never canceled anything quicker in my lifetime, and I WILL be posting this review to every platform possible to help expose these fraudsters.
After going back and forth with 3 different Assurant employees via email, a fourth employee via phone call, and multiple trips to the T-Mobile store over the course of nearly two months, Assurant had the nerve to charge us for a replacement phone and then LIE to the Better Business Bureau saying the screen was cracked. It should have been a $0 service fee since the phone was only two months old and under warranty, and the issue was that it had suddenly stopped holding a charge or turning on. It was a MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN, which is supposedly 100% covered by the protection plan we had per THEIR CONTRACT. Bottom line, the screen did not have a single scratch on it, let alone a crack, and I have video documentation proving this! All these reviews of Assurant being shady give me the peace of mind that I haven’t been the only one fraudulently charged, but to blatantly LIE to the BBB is on a whole different level…YIKES. They’ll be on the News sooner than later, that’s all I’m saying…

I filed a claim with Assurant Renter's Ins. Feb. due to a fire. I have turned in all the info. During the last update, they were waiting to get in touch with my landlord to finish my claim which was months ago. I have paid over $4,000 a month for a hotel since we lost our home. They do not return calls! The adjusters nor the supervisors have taken the initiative to help my family. I have sent pics and videos of over 4,000 items and was then told the system does not accept videos. How would I know that if I can't get in contact with anyone? There is no communication to understand the DO's and DON'T's of the process. Months later they sent letters of what's needed to complete the claim. The representatives are rude and lazy. They make you feel like you are a criminal when you call. It feels like discrimination because they make it seem like there’s no way you could afford the amount of items on your list. If I couldn't afford them, do you think I would have taken the time to write them out? The amount of time, stress, and energy that was needed to complete the requirements was a headache. I paid out of pocket for the removal of items from the premises and have yet to be reimbursed. Assurant has tarnished Geico’s reputation. They prolong the process in hopes that you’ll forget about your claim. We pay our payments, but they don't want to pay out claims. I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this policy. At this point, I will be reaching out to the news stations, all social media platforms, GEICO and an attorney because until it's you in this situation no one cares! I trusted Assurant and Geico to protect my family and I if a situation like this was to ever arise. This claim should have been completed. Here we are during the holidays and my family remains displaced since 2/28/22. We are not able to save due to the expenses we pay from being displaced. THIS IS A MOTHER'S CRY! PLEASE HAVE OUR CLAIM FINISHED SO I CAN GET OUR FAMILY BACK UNDER ONE ROOF.

I’m so sorry they are putting you through this! I hope you made it through the holidays okay and that your new year is much less frustrating! I have no idea how Assurant is in business. They are complete and total frauds. After I reported them to the BBB, they LIED to them and said I sent them a phone with a cracked screen. The screen was in perfect condition, the issue was that the phone just stopped turning on out of the blue. But since they get $0 for mechanical issues like that, they figured nothing was in it for them so they lied about the screen. Totally insane. I never would’ve thought insurance fraud would be committed by the insurance company themself! I’m not sure why they even keep track of claim numbers and cases, all just to make up stories…totally mind blowing! I mentioned in my review contacting the News as well. They would have a field day with this company!
