Listen carefully!!!! Dear Person about to try this company, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME. I COULDN'T EVEN ACTIVATE THE CARD. THEY SAID MY ADDRESS ISN'T RECOGNIZED. TRIED GETTING CUSTOMER SERVICE TO ASSIST AND THEY KEPT SAYING REPEAT MY QUESTION. I BELIEVE THEY DELIBERATELY TRY TO FRUSTRATE YOU SO YOU GIVE UP. THE MONEY INITIALLY LOADED IS LOST...Loooost. Stolen!!!

Two of my kids got a prepaid Netspend card for Christmas both with $30 preloaded on them. We had a really hard time activating them and the waiting time to speak to someone over the phone was way to long, so we decided to wait. This happened multiple times. Finally in late May we tried again, we were able to activate one of them, and the other we still had issues and needed to speak to someone over the phone, but luckily it wasn't a long wait this time. We were able to activate (still took a while speaking to someone) and then learned that both cards were only $12.15 because of inactivity. The cards weren't even activate to use until then! Such a scam! Don't waste your money!

Unable to activate card. They asked for tons of documentation, some of which i was able to provide right away, the rest was sent later. Turns out they "closed" my account (that was never even activated) before i could even send the rest of the documents. And when i called to find out why, customer service couldn't give me a reason, and when asked to elevate to a supervisor, hung up on me.

SCAMMERS. WASTE OF MONEY. DONT WASTE UR PRECIOUS TIME. THEY DONT TELL YOU THAT IN THE BEGINNING OF "CREATING" UR ACCNT, THAT YOUR "NAME" "HAS" TO MATCH UP WITH THE DOCUMENTS NEEDED TO PROVE THATS UR NAME. I ENDED UP FORGETTING MY FIRST ACCNT. SO I MADE ME A 2ND ACCNT, BUT THIS TIME WITH MY DAUGHTERS NAME, I HAD PURCHASED IT IN THE MORNING AROUND 7AM, CAME TO FIND OUT THAT THEY CANT "ACTIVATE" MY PREPAID CARD BCZ THE "USERNAME" DOESNT MATCH UP WITH THE DOCUMENTS THAT I EMAILED TO THEM (STATE ID, SSC, & PROOF OF ADDRESS). I WAS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM FROM 7AM-3PM. TALKED TO ALMOST 10 DIFFERENT PPL. TOLD ALL OF THEM THE SAME STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED. THEY ALL TRIED TO OVERRIDE ME WITH THEIR "POLICY", BUT I KEPT ON TALKING MAKING SURE I LET THEM KNOW HOW I FEEL ABOUT THEM TAKING MY MONEY & LOCKING MY ACCNT. 2 PPL SAID TO "HOLD", BUT ENDED UP HAVING ME LISTEN TO THEIR OLD OUTDATED HARMONICA MUSIC PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND & LEFT ME HANGING ON THE PHONE FOR OVER AN HOUR!!! NO ONE CAME ON THE PHONE!! WHAT A WASTE OF MY DAM TIME!! OH & THEY SAID THEY CANT REFUND ME MY MONEY I HAD JUST PUT IN THERE & I WONT BE ABLE TO MAKE A DISPUTE!!! FKN JOKE!!

These guys are scams and love to rob you they do not tell you when you sign up that no other people than the person on the account can make deposits into this account so I tried having my check deposited so I can have gas for work and make my car payment low and behold they rejected the deposit and not only that they say it takes 6 days to get the money returned well they have bought themselves a lawsuit because they are going to be paying big time if I miss work and my car gets repoed do not deal with these guys customer service sucks and they refuse to let you talk to a manager I have contacted the government and my attorney
You can activate your NetSpend card either online or by phone. To activate the card online, go to NetSpend's website and click on Activate Card which should be on the top right hand corner of the homepage. You will be required to enter your card number, and the security code on the back of the card. You will also be prompted for your address, social security number, and date of birth.
To activate the card by phone, you will need to call 1-855-967-2273.
The customer service number for NetSpend is (866) 387-7363. You can also find this number on the back of your card. Customer service is available Monday - Friday from 8AM to 10PM Central Time, and Saturday - Sunday from 8AM to 8PM CT.
You can check your NetSpend balance for free by logging in to your online account center.
You can also check your balance by signing up for Anytime Alerts. After signing up just text the letters BAL to 22622 anytime, and you'll receive a message with your balance.
Another way to check your balance is at a participating ATM.
Lastly, you can call 1-866-387-7363 for your balance. You will be charged a $0.5 fee.
You can reload your NetSpend card at over 130,000 locations. The NetSpend card can be loaded at grocery stores, gas stations, check cashers, and convenience stores all over the country. You can find the nearest reload location here. Some of the reload locations include Walgreens, Office Depot, 7-Eleven, CVS and Walmart.
You can find your NetSpend routing number by calling 1-866-387-7363 and selecting the option to get your direct deposit information.
Alternatively, log in to the Online Account Center. From the main menu, select 'Direct Deposit.' The account information required to sign up for Direct Deposit will appear in the grey box on the right side of the screen.
Lastly, if you enrolled in Anytime Alerts, text DIRECT to 22622. Netspend will text you the routing number and account number.
