PNC is by far the worst banking experience ive ever had in my entire life. First, i lost my wallet and credit card so i had to have a new one sent by mail. It got sent back because they forgot to list my apartment number in the address line. I updated my address & ordered a new card. They never sent it. This almost got me EVICTED. Thank God my landlord is lenient. Then,
i finally go to the atm to activate my new card, and the atm eats my card because i entered my pin wrong 5 times. It was the right pin. Then, i go to a brancb & speak to a supervisor, and get a new card & change my pin. All is well. I bought a pop this morning at a gas station. Entered my pin. Transaction approved. I go to a pnc atm again this afternoon, says wrong pin again. I called, they said they fixed it. Go to the store, had to cancel my $80 transaction , embarassed, and listen to my 6 year old scream for 20 minutes because i couldnt buy the toy i promised her. And am once again, going to have to pay a late fee along with my rent, because of this bullshit. This is the now THIRD time this has happened. The customer service rep was pathetically sarcastic and put me on hold for 15 mins. If im not re-compensated for the gas money i had to pay people to drive me from atm to atm, then the store for no reason, and then back home, along with my rent fees we are going to have some serious problems . This is the worst experience ive ever had with a banking institution in my entire life. Will be taking all my money out & switching banks ASAP. Do NOT bank with PNC. go to huntington or US Bank they treat their customers with respect.… read more

Pnc Bank is a joke. Customer service is horrible. I am changing banks and will tell everyone I know not to deal with them. I had a dispute that somehow closed without my consent and they tried to say I closed it. then tried to reopen it and the lady was giving me a hardtime about it.

Hey my names shara lively. I've been banking with PNC for a couple years now, up until now my experience has been good. I was charged an overdraft fee but didn't receive a notification until the next morning at 3am, the same day my paycheck was deposited into my account. I was told by the bank account manager that I would not get a refund for the overdraft fee because it is my responsibility to
make sure I don't go into overdraft. Which is right but I didn't receive a notification until it was to late, and I check my account twice that day and my account never went until negative status, so I couldn't correct this issue to not receive the overdraft fee. I am very dissatisfied with the customer service I received as a loyal customer of PNC.… read more

I couldn't create an online login because 1. They changed my account and couldn't give me a new account over the phone. 2. They have to mail you a pin which takes 10 days.
I needed to just print up a statement and it might take 10-12 days to get one.
Very inefficient for the year 2019.

Wish I could give it zero stars. Apparently, whenever you use a new transfer service the first time, they block the transfer. Once when I was in California and in desperate need of money in another bank account, I tried to use their interbank transfer. They just blocked my transaction. I called them 3-4 times to remove the block. They kept telling me that I have to go to a branch to verify myself. I
tried hard to drill into those dunderheads that there are no PNC branches on the west coast. I pleaded with them to remove the blockade as I needed money urgently. But, they were totally unsympathetic and rude.
This was not the only time I had such an experience. Sometime later, when I wanted to transfer money to my friend using their zelle app, they blocked me again.
If you want your money to be available to you based on your needs, and not on their whims, DON'T open an account with them.… read more

If you are thinking about utilizing any banking services with PNC just don’t do it. Please save yourself the time and hassle. I have encountered multiple problems over the past year. First, my debit card randomly stopped working despite having more than enough funds in my account. No one was ever able to give me an explanation as to why. I had to get a card. Then, there was a data breech in my area
with no notice given to the affected individual’s (myself included). Had to get a new card again. Recently, also had to put a temporary hold on my debit card. When I was ready to re-activate my card despite giving very personal info PNC’s solution was to stop into a branch just to reactivate my card. Overall, very inconvenient and PNC seems to lack solutions to resolvable issues.… read more

NEVER, EVER deal with PNC bank, the bank that had the lien to a vehicle I purchased. I've never dealt with a company with so many incompetent people. I literally paid 3x for this car. We mailed payoff day I bought the car, they lost it and then sent it back to Chase for reasons unknown. Had to wait and wait for them to "attempt" to find it. Finally we got the above answer so
we called to do AHS transfer, got them to read all info back yet never took funds. AGAIN, had to wait and wait for it to show they didn't actually do the transfer. Finally did it again and went thru, promised to overnight the title as soon as it went through, yet took them over a week to actually mail the title. That's just the beginning of everything they messed up. Took me 46 freaking days to get the title so I could register AND actually drive the car I paid for! I also was forced to pay a late fee due to them taking so long to get everything taken care of. NEVER, EVER, DO BUSINESS WITH PNC BANK!!!!… read more

WORST Account Opening Experience Ever!
I opened an online account there on 12/5. They took 2 days to "approve" my account then sent me a letter with the only last 4 digits of the account number. You need the full account number to log on the first time, so this was worthless. I called and had to be transferred three times and go through the full ID process each time. Everyone I spoke to was unfriendly
and robot-like. When I finally lost it when asked to ID myself the third time, the guy lectured me about how I was speaking to him but finally provided me with my account number. After going through a lengthy registration process with more disclosures, I get to my account and find out that there is no trace of the transfer I requested when I opened the account six days ago. And the account I transferred from isn't on the "transfer from" account list. I called and they told me it takes 5 - 10 days to complete and online transfer. SERIOUSLY? Most banks take no more than 3-4 days and my primary savings bank, PurePoint Financial does it in 1 day! UPDATE: It's 12/13 and still no sign of my opening funds transfer...a transfer the rep verified thy have...who wants to bet it happens?
PNC's rate is currently .2% above PurePoint's but it's NOT worth the aggravation I have had to go through. I'll leave the $100 I funded the account with (if it ever shows up that is!) in there for the 180 days to prevent the $25 "early closure fee." I was going to move a lot more money when I opened the account, but PurePoint Financial wasn't on the list of banks I could transfer from...I should have realized that it was a sign NOT to do it...well I know now!… read more

I have had pnc bank now for a year and in the beginning they were very friendly and helping. My opinion was drastically changed as I reviewed so
We of the worst and smartest mouth customer seri e representative ever. This customer representative refused to help me belittled me and didn’t want to help me at with my checking account. So as of today I opened up a bank account else where I will not return
to pnc bank. I used to say nothing but positive thing about pnc bank but after today I don’t feel like a customer I feel like a number and should of been treated more differently.… read more

If I could give PNC 0 stars I would, this is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. Left BOA (no issues) to move to PNC to take advantage of the $200 incentive and the virtual wallet, all the features advertised. I have had this account less than 4 months and I am closing it as soon as my new direct deposit is set with my new credit union. PNC post transactions purposely out
of order to maximize overdraft fees. They blame it on the merchant processing time. It doesn't matter when a merchant finalizes a transaction, my register should show my transaction posted the date that I made the purchase, not 4 or 5 days later. I have filed a complaint with the Federal Reserve.… read more

Applied online for a personal loan 10/28/18. Received acknowledgement from PNC via email and USPS dated 10/29/18. Received a request for additional documentation - such as copies of tax returns, and verification of residence.
Dropped off all copies on 11/8/18 at Painesville, Ohio branch, asking for a receipt for the paperwork, as I feared it could get misplaced. I used a bright green manilla folder, with loan number, name, and over 30 pages of
documentation. Received statement of credit score via USPS dated 11/1/18 - 92 - an excellent score. With no follow-up communication, called PNC on 11/30/28 - 1st call was cut off. 2nd call stated they never got information. Called branch office where info was dropped off - 11:23 am - loan officer was with another customer, and would call back. Called again at 1:02 - loan office was still with customer. They called back at 2:19 - stating they cannot find the bright green manilla folder, with loan number, name, and over 30 pages of documentation that I specifically was concerned would get misplaced. They will follow up with teller who took paperwork. Called back at 2:23 - cannot find any paperwork - it was possibly shredded. They asked if we wanted to resubmit. Said no thank you, we will try a different bank. My thought process is someone got points for taking the application, and then didn't follow through. Hope I am wrong. Still, very disappointed with the unprofessionalism I encountered.… read more

PNC took over my home loan from the original lender. I was on an auto draft received no notice until a call came you are late on your payment. The lady was extremely rude. Treating & over bearing telling me what I was going to do.
I was in an airport & she would not quit threatening me demanding I give her my banking information over the phone. How stupid would that be. So when I
got back home I filled out all the information for auto draft & sent a check to bring the account up to date. They still cannot get the draft straight. What a JOKE.… read more

The lady I spoke with had an attitude, she didn’t care that I was confused. I felt like I was the one in the WRONG simply for asking questions about transactions on my card. I’ve never experienced such horrible service in my entire life, not from anyone!!! I wouldn’t recommended this company to anyone! Or do people with SmartAccess cards get crappy service because it’s a “prepaid” card...

Worst bank EVER!!! Stay away. I was with National City when PNC bought it out (they made me change to PNC) it's has been nothing but trouble ever since. They charge me with overdraft free even tho the money was in there. DONT DO IT THEY WILL STEAL YOU'RE MONEY!!!

PNC is terrible, they overcharge you with fees and it is fraud. They even charge you when there is no reason to , and I have had technical issues with my Account multiple times .. NEVER choose PNC Bank they will rob you

Horrible bank, horrible service and hold your money hostage, stay away! They wanted to keep my money after opening my bank account and held my money for one month with no reason and took forever to get my funds returned. BAD bank!!

Worse bank in history. I cashed 2 checks for someone I had no clue they would bounce but they did and paid them 2 days later. My 927.24 direct deposit comes in they freeze my account. Im told come to the branch to get your money instead I go to the branch and in a bank full if people the telker informs me of how I should think mire before being so foolush and that
I am just more less a sad excuse for a person to allow this to happen in a very loud manner. Then informed me THEY will decide when to close the account and mail me my money. Thieves and liars. That is the definition of PNC to me.… read more

Their website is awful. I'm in my 30's and grew up with computers, but I had to write a personal instruction manual to navigate their website every time I log on. Not recommended for online banking.

I' ve been with PNC since 2016 and I'm virtually without words as to how horribly inconsiderate this bank is. If one's checking account is overdrawn there is an approximate $35 fee deducted from the account plus other penalties. One can't get a loan from this bank unless one's credit is impecable. I regret even having a bank account.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! DO NOT RECOMMEND PNC CREDIT CARDS!
I have been a PNC customer for over ten years (checking with $4.5K monthly in direct deposits & 40-50 monthly debit card transactions). A year and a half ago, I acquired a PNC Points VISA credit card linked to my checking account with auto monthly payments.
For an unknown reason, the auto payments failed the past two months and I was not notified. Both incidents, PNC charged
a $35 past due fee. Immediately after noticing the past due fees, I contacted PNC Customer Service which removed the initial past due fee. I again set-up the auto payments feature with Customer Service. However, PNC refused to waive the second $35 past due fee. It took TWO WEEKS of “research” by PNC’s Escalation Team to notify me of their negative decision.
I have since opened two new checking accounts (TD and M&B Banks which offered cash bonus promotions of $400) and will close all PNC accounts resulting from PNC’s short sighted refusal to waive a $35 fee.… read more… read more

Worst service! I used the PNC App and tried to pay my credit card. The App had a feature of “Pay my Bills”. I transferred the money and it took five days to send it. Then the PNC customer representative promised me that he would help me remove the late fee. Today when I checked my account. The late fee was not refunded. I called them. The representative named Austin ( in the acceleration support
team) told me he could not help and later hung up my phone call. Since PNC could not help, why did they say they would previously? I was shocked by Austin’s attitude because never had I met such a rude customer support!… read more

PNC is despicable. I moved my Business banking to another institution as I was getting hit with monthly fees for something they set up (they were also giving me cash advance fees of varying amounts when I never used cash advances). I attempted to remediate the situation, and the fees continued. When I talked to customer service, I was told it was my fault. I am a real estate investor and run a property management
business. PNC lost Hundreds of Thousands of dollars in business (annually) over some insignificant fess. These guys are morons and trying to nickel and dime you, whilst losing massive amounts of business in the process. I have been at Dollar Bank for the past few months and it is night and day. They aren't trying to dig their grimey hands into your bank account for some change every month and are far more professional. I am now moving my personal banking out of principal. Do yourself a favor and bank with professionals, not greasy pickpockets.… read more

I will try to make it brief. I went to the teller in PNC bank to withdraw some money to transfer it to my chase account. I took the money and went to nearby Chase office to make a deposit where they found my one 100 dollar bill to be old and counterfeit, so they confiscated the bill. In return when i raised an issue with PNC on this they blindly said once bill gets
out of bank its not their responsibility. Being a student from the university where i trusted the bank was biggest mistake of my life. I had the worst experience ever with any bank in my life.
Please don't trust them with your hard earned money !… read more

I currently have a home loan, home equity line of credit, business account, credit card, and 5 checking accounts with PNC. During the home equity process my loan officer didn't keep me up to date, didn't return calls or emails and was not the least bit helpful. This process really left me not at all happy with PNC.
Not even 2 mo later my debit card was declined and a check for a utilities bill was
returned even though I had sufficient funds in the account. To date I've spoken with 10 different people, called in 7 times and have been told by EVERYONE that there were sufficient funds in the account but a hold was incorrectly placed on it. No answers for why this happened, evidently per PNC they don't know why but these mistakes can and do happen. I was actually told by one person that I need to keep a check register and not go by balance online.
Of course this still isn't resolved. Besides the embarrassment of the check bouncing and the debit card being declined I of course have been charged a NSF fee by the utility company.
Customer service is a complete joke.
I'm in the process of trying to get my husband to close out every one of our accounts with PNC and take our money elsewhere.… read more

Have a heloc using there virtual wallet made 3 payments which were send back no one that I spoke with had any clue why. 2 weeks later they tell me they are sorry. I asked to close my accounts since I do not want to have to worry about them making more mistakes that could result in multiple issues. 72 hours of my time 2 weeks of worry and I get I am sorry. When
I ask to pay of my loan thus closing my account they want to charge me 3 thousand dollars the executive response team is worthless. Beware PNC. They continuously add fees for being late and add interest charges. They can't seem to process things properly through online banking and will hit you with fees. I don't have a problem with any other bank. I paid off my account but still get hammered with late fees. I've had it with them, have closed my account and will never do business with them again.

Extremely poor online functionality. Couldn't find any real information on how I could help my parents access their individual retirement accounts. Then when we called, they were extremely unhelpful to my mentally and physically disabled parents. Just a terrible bank overall to deal with from a customer service perspective.

Just found a charge on my business bank statement called cash flow insight which I've never signed up for. Customer service claims it's a legitimate fee and absolutely refused to refund.
The best part of all? Because of cash flow insight, I can't see past the 5 recent entries into my account - which even the rep admits he can't resolve. Terrible product, terrible customer service. Never again!

Multiple disappointments with PNC over the past 45 days. This bank really seems completely archaic in its operations. They can't (or won't) shut off paper statements; they can't transfer funds in an emergency between family members who have PNC accounts (they said, "You use western union.").
These experiences show a bank that doesn't seem to be customer-centric or as modern as others.

I have had a situation were i have done a online order. Well needless to say wrong product, amount ordered was wrong and the shipper has no return address or wont respond back. I explained that to pnc with also sending the emails that i sent. As you think that the situation would be resolved in a prompt manner. Ha, now its been 2 weeks and pnc's response we will get to it when we
can. That was not the response i was looking for. And on top of that i got told that you had to provide all information on dispute in timely manner. Well obviously they are taking theyre time. My wife and I went to Pnc bank to open up a checking account . We went together but decided for tax reasons and other to have the account in my wife's name only. My wife was traveling to Tokyo and Korea and we wanted to make sure we can take money out of any bank there by either cash advance or atm We were told no problem as long as they have the visa
logo and Global atm. Well it was not . Because my wife tried a few banks to get money out they then put a block on the account. My wife was having surgery and needed the money to pay for it. She had to borrow money from a friend to do that . Meanwhile I was in the US and dealing with the bank as to why they blocked her and to increase the limit on atm withdrawals Long story short they first dealt with me with no problems. Then later they asked for my wife and we put her on the phone via kakao talk. Then they would email me . the area manager called me twice to try and resolve They unblocked the account but did not raise the limit . They then asked they had to speak to my wife directly. So i went to the bank and via kakao video spoke to my wife. She said among other things that they can speak to me. The manager Marit Navarro said after wife spoke her that she will put the request in again and get back to me. I didn't hear for a day so i sent an email No response I sent another email the next day No response I went in the bank and now she tells me . We can not respond to you only your wife. (Btw they still have not responded to the request to raise the limit) . But she was talking to me for the past 7 days and talked to me after my wife said ok as well. But they are just rude and disrespectful especially Marit Navarro . I wonder how she got this job as manager Just totally unprofessional and disrespectful… read more

They make things overly complicated. The online account for the Virtual Wallet is not user friendly at all. They have added too many features/tabs that a simple task like finding the routing number takes forever. Ordering checks is expensive.

I have been a PNC's Virtual Wallet for 2 years and I consider it a great product! Their online platform is a great tool to build a financial plan with their Money Bar and Calendar. They provide great visuals about your financial situation plus the options of three accounts (1 checking and 2 savings) within the same product.

Took an auto loan through PNC bank. Since, I had to relocate to a different country, paid off the loan and got a confirmation that original title document will be sent within 10 business days. Called customer care couple of times and also visited the PNC branch in person to make sure all the information in their records is up to date. It's been over a month, yet to receive the title document. When contacted
the customer care, they confirmed the document was already sent over a week back. Can you believe the original document was sent through regular mail without any tracking details. No one has clue where the document is right now. Highly irresponsible.
After numerous calls to PNC customer care, a lady tells me the document was sent to my old address, house that I vacated almost two years back. Was shocked from where the hell they got the old address details. Escalated to the higher officials, but in vain. No resolution. Apparently, they don't even have proper means of contacting the loan department and waiting for someone from that team to get back. Why the hell I spent all my hard earned earnings to pay off a loan?? Very poor customer support and the agents are so rude as though they are doing some favor to me. These guys were behind me to get a loan, credit card etc and now check their attitude. I have to relocate to a different country in a week and need the document to import the car but PNC bank folks are not bothered and not providing any alternate solution too. Beware guys!!! The customer service is horrible, The online system is always changing and is down. I have uncovered multiple errors that have resulted in extensive wasted time on the phone with a promise of call back after you get transferred 3 times I called the executive office and they told me that no courtesy credit for customer due to their mistakes my time on the phone could have been avoided with a call back which is

If a company has a horrible rating, it is for a reason. Do not wait until you are writing a review to realize that a company is "Bad News - Not for You."
If enough people are writing the same, consistent things, then they probably are true. My mother finally told me that she experienced problems with PNC after I explained my situation with them. You often don't find out what you are dealing with until
its too late. Thanks for not telling me, Mom!
What am I saying? Read the reviews and deal with a company that is willing to deal with you. PNC is not a sympathetic or empathetic company. Their user interface and systems are inferior to other credit card companies. They fail to relay important information directly to you (snail mail or even email would be nice) - no formal notification process (that I have experienced).
Their information is inconsistent throughout departments. If you have a problem, they are not able to deal with it like a 21st century company. They send you to an actual bank branch. What? Regardless, you then play phone tag with their customer service reps/managers that will not address anything in email...again antiquated. They tell you weird things like other departments don't have correct information, or they all can't see the same thing, or you can't see accurate information from the mobile version of their site. What...again? Obviously smh and wondering about this company's overall dependability, honestly and integrity.
I have dealt with mostly all the major credit card companies throughout my life (mostly with continued success - 99.9%). Basically, you do not want a PNC credit card. Stick with the major household name credit card companies that send correspondence in the mail. Do not end up in my situation. Unfortunately, experience is the best teacher. You do not want to rumble with this "B"ank. I definitely expected more from PNC.
Heed these words. If not at first, you will eventually be disappointed… read more

This bank is a joke... You put your check in on sat and they will not clear it till tues cause they are to lazy to do their jobs. Worst customer service. And their $15 fee that only seems to be applied is when it will over draft me, for what they don't do anything... After 8 yrs I will be finding a new bank..

I asked them to remove one overdraft fee, and it got denied, but when I go to set up text messages so I don't have a negative balance, their system doesn't allow me to. Over the phone it doesn't either, but they'll make sure to keep charging me for fees.
