No credit card needed
I did not have any problem with this card, or with the customer service, and I'm kind of surprised to see this many poor reviews. I think this card does what it says it is going to do. Fees are waived if you do direct deposit and so it's basically free to use, what more can you ask? Customer service has been on point with me, when I had to call, which was very rare. Usually I pop online to check the balance and it's pretty easy breezy cool. This is a much better option than some checking accounts out there, for sure. A good card with a great company. I recommend.
I got this card basically to take advantages of the miles rewards, and that this card does very well. You will be adequately rewarded with miles if you use this credit card. That being said, it irritates me to no end that I have to pay a $59 annual fee. I spend thousands on this card and it really feels petty. I don't see why Capital One feels the need to nickel and dime their customers. The APR is nothing to get excited about, it seems to be pretty standard, and I am sure they would happily jack the rates if you have a single late payment. Miles are good but that is about it.
This credit card company, like all credit card companies waits for you to be late on a payment and then punishes you severely by jacking up the rate. I was late on ONE of my payments and I had a very good reason for it.
Shoppping at VS is always a pleasure, and this card is a fun and easy way to get all kinds of rewards and extras and incentives, but please be warned that this card is only for those who are very strict about their spending. To get value out of this card, you must - MUST! - pay off the card in full each month and never carry a balance. This is because this card carries an enormous interest charge, just utterly ridiculous. It's frankly a very bad deal to carry any sort of a balance because you will pay through the nose and it won't be worth any of the extra incentives you get. Now. If you can spend wisely and pay off your card every single month, for your time and trouble, you get points for purchases which do add up over time. You also get a birthday gift. I got a pair of panties, so, uhhh...yeah. Not that great. I guess now you also get an annual thank you gift, I don't know what that is, and also you get first access to sales and specials and triple points throughout the year occasionally and you have the opportunity to make some smart purchases if you are careful. If you already shop there and are disciplined with your credit cards, then you might as well sign up and get your freebies and fun stuff. Again, be careful with that interest rate. It's a huge trap and one could easily overspend and get in trouble and owe way more than you meant to. So be careful.
Normally I don't like any credit card, for any reason. Typically, I feel, they are designed to rip you off. And generally this is correct. However, the Target Red Card credit card breaks the mold, and if you are the sort of person who pays your card in full at the end of the month, then you need to have this card. It will save you all kinds of money. The first benefit is the 5% off every purchase. I love this, it's great, sign me up. Right? Absolutely! 5% adds up! But personally I love this card because I can get unlimited free shipping on any order. I no longer have to search around for deals, trying to get to the $25 that will entitle me to free shipping. So if I want to order one tee-shirt (for example) for $7, it's 5% off and free shipping. I love that! Also, returns are super easy, I just waltz into Target and hand it off. Done. I don't care about their data breach, it never affected me, and anyway they did make good on that. I wish other stores would take their lead and off the substantial rewards that Target does. Walmart, are you reading this?? 5 stars everyone. Now the disclaimer ***I don't even know what the interest rate is, and I don't care because I pay my card off in full each month**** If you do NOT pay it each month, please do your due diligence on the interest rate, because those things will kill your finances. Thanks for reading!
