HORRIBLE! Been a customer for years. Did mobile deposit on a 401k loan check and making me wait a WEEK to access funds! All because I did mobile deposit which is supposed to be quicker! I did one last year and it only took 1 day! Now they say I need a letter! This check is from HCA Healthcare! Now its going to cost me hundreds in late fees! You can’t treat customers like this!

Put on hold for 20 min when asked to speak to a supervisor. Antonio said they were all too busy and someone would call me back. No one ever did.

I had been with this CU for quite some time, they shut down the center within my employment so getting to them especially during the pandemic made it quite frustrating so I simply stated that i would only go and use my line of credit for emergency purposes only. Well I finally encountered an issue and went to pull from it only to discover it was closed literally 7 days prior, NO CALL NO EMAIL NO LETTER OF INACTIVITY...just shut down... they send me statements every month, i read them because it's money related and I always have an eye on my money, I am far from rich and i account for every penny. I wasted time leaving work early to find a n location that stays open late enough without WEIRD hours....only to be told "oh we closed that...you'll have to apply again" yet they managed to send me a letter about keeping my savings account open because it now only has 9 dollars in it LOL...go to Hades SF... i will never ever ever EVER use this CU again.

Worst credit union ever. They will hold electronic deposits for days so they can overdraft your account. I was a member for 12 years. I am parting. Post covid, this credit union neglected their customers. I wish I could give zero stars as a rating.

Worst bank EVER! They take double payments on your car loans and then they just give you a fake apology with no sense of urgency. They take days to return your money and as you watch all your payments go through the bank the account goes lower and lower. You have to pay all the insufficient funds fees. HORRIBLE BANK!!!!! Go elsewhere to do business. They don't send statements and they don't have shared branches. It sounds to me like they don't have the money to do these things. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!!!!!

Smart has been holding my firefighter retirement money and not putting it in my account. I was hoping they would have done what they said they’d do. They don’t care. So don’t use smart fin. It’s not about us. Only about them and I am passing this along to all fire fighters stay away.

I had deposited a check and they held onto to it for a month!! If you are looking for a bank that is easy to use and the employees are helpful then I suggest that you look at anywhere but here!!! Also, if you go into the branch, it smells like really bad B.O. I guess their smell matches their employees and services.

Amazon charged me $107.oo for a $23.oo book, my bank Smart Financial sent them the money but state that they,Smart Financial are not responsible for the transfer. I ask to close my account,the manager said I had to go to one of their offices to do that. Their claim is they are not responsible for the money that was taken out. I need them Why?

If I could give zero stars, I would. Customer service is HORRIBLE, employees are rude and extremely unprofessional, even at the upper management level. I had a manager tell me that she simply didn't have to explain the fees or terms of a loan agreement with me, because it "wasn't legally required" for her to do so. On another occasion, when I called to inquire on why a late fee had been imposed- I had made 2 months' payments ahead of time, and was being charged a late fee because no payment had been made on the second month, since it was paid ahead of time- the customer service manager refused to remove the fee and told me "you should have known better". I should have known better than to make payments ahead of time? It is UNBELIEVABLE how bad this place is. Save yourself the trouble & deal with a larger, more established financial institution.

I have been a SFCU member for many years and utilized SFCU for several car loans. Over time, SFCU implemented new fees, inactivity penalties, and other efforts to rip off their customers. Several times a SFCU representative acknowledged that they did not provide any prior notice notice of new hidden fees because "they were not required to so." So basic transparency is lacking. Even worse, SFCU customer service is absolutely terrible. They make almost no efforts at dispute resolution. I just recently closed my account with SFCU, and it's refreshing to now deal with a quality financial institution. I should have made the switch long ago.
