
I've not had a single positive experience at any branch of SECU. My first experience was being told I had to walk across the parking lot with over $10,000 in cash to switch to them, because they're so old and incompetent that they cannot execute a basic funds transfer between banks. The people at Wells Fargo were extremely confused, and so was I. Thankfully I did not get robbed, but I was extremely anxious during this process as the money counting takes a while and is rather public.
To complicate matters, the lady who told me this looked at me as though my eyes were on the back of my head when I was confused at having to carry so much cash. "Well there's no way we can transfer it without cash, *sorry.*" Even if she were right, I'm sorry for not expecting to have to carry all of my cash in 2015. But this is the norm at SECU: extremely dismissive, holier-than-thou and downright antagonistic.They lack the features of most major banks, including on-site check printing, and make you pay monthly for each and every checking and savings account you own, and in return you get absolutely nothing except a pretty good money market rate.
Avoid these people like the plague. They're nothing short of incompetent.… read more
