My husband and I had SF auto insurance for over 35
In June, the check we sent for our oayment was returned I admit it - We screwed up
The agent said they would not redeposit the check, that we had to pay with a money order. Fine. We got the money order and personally delivered it. Our check was not returned, no reason given. Earlier this month, SF sent us a check, stating our premium had been paid twice.
We cashed the check.
On July 20th, our agent called and told us our insurance had been cancelled for non-payment. Apparently, the check was sent to us in error, and we "should have known", so our insurance was cancelled.
In other words - they screwed up, and are punishing us for following their instructions.
I switched us to another insurance company and our premiums dropped 30%.
My husband was especially upset because he had been with them 45 years. I was a customer for 35 years, so I was also upset.
My husband and I are caredul drivers who have only made 3 claims in the entire time we were with the company (and none of the accidents on which the claims were based were our fault), so we could be considered "profitable" - SF was making money off of us.… read more
