Golden 1 credit union has been the worse bank to deal with. As Trustee of an estate they have done whatever they could do make a difficult time during the pandemic more stressful and add additional heartache. Seems no one knows what they are doing, managers in “member cate” dept never return phone calls. No follow up. Lack of communication, bank training and customer service! Would NOT recommend
Since the changing of guard, golden 1 is sadly to say horrific.3 generations until this company single handedly snatched my dreams of becoming a successful small business owner. The reason? Well because I applied for a ppp loan. I felt I had no other choice, due to being turned down throughout the years for any kind of credit or loan.
Financed a vehicle with Golden One. It's been a smooth, problem free transaction since day one. Now preparing to pay off the loan. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future. I am more than satisfied with the entire process.
My fiance and I purchased a vehicle and Golden 1 was the credit union that had our loan. The truck was in my fiance's name but was a gift he purchased for me. 6 months after we bought the truck, my fiance passed away. I notified Golden 1 of his death and gave them my attorney's name and number so they could file a claim against the estate. Months pass as the estate goes through probate court. On Veteran's Day, a tow truck pulls up and hauls my truck away. No notice from the Golden 1 to myself, my attorney or the court appointed administrator. They put it out on Veteran's Day when they are closed so there was no one to call. I contacted them to find out who "up the chain of command" I could speak to about how this was handled. They put me through to 3 people. The first 2 seemed like they genuinely wanted to help me. The 3rd person was rude and put me on hold and then I was hung up on. Great way to treat a service disabled veteran who is grieving the loss of her fiance and best friend. Tomorrow I will be taking the money out of my account and closing it. Terrible customer service and the motto of "stronger together" is crap.
Great credit union to work with! They are very professional and very easy to work with. The application process was fast and I was approved quickly.

I had $1200 taken from my account on 6/21. A joint check was deposited about a day before. I called on 6/22, they explained and told me a copy check was issued and sent to me within 5 business days. Confirmed my shipping address. 5 business days pass by...nothing. called on 6/30, they told me there is a delay in the USPS mail and it could be 7-10 business days confirmed my address again. 10 business days pass by NOTHING. called again on 7/6, got the call escalated to Irene, I asked for the check to be sent to a branch near me. I expressed my frustration to Irene she did not care, finally gave me an extension, and told me to call on Thursday,7/8, so we can 3-way call the bank because it should be there on Friday 7/9. Called no answer, left VM, no callback. Called their CS line, the guy told me the notes said I need to wait until Monday 7/12 and that it should be there no later than that. Monday no call from the branch as I'm desperately waiting. Called today Tuesday 7/13, to find out the branch has the check since Saturday and called me that day?! no, they did not. Why would I not answer or call back as I'm waiting for this $1200 check?? The lady I spoke to did not care as she was "just the messenger". So extremely upset over this situation. This company could care less
