Heartless and slimy.... I was in a car accident where I was hurt and my wife died. The loan this bank gave me was or the car that was totaled in the accident. I reached out in the fog of grief to let them know my insurance would be sending Me he check for the payoff amount etc.... They didn't care. they reported me to the credit agency the moment my measles $300 payment was late. At the time I didn't care but 4 years later it still effects my credit.
I became part of this bank when it bought out my previous one, North Valley Bank. During the takeover process, we were promised easy change over, 1-800 numbers to call and was repeatedly told that checks written to our former account would be deposited and there was no need for an immediate change to places such as Social Security, Pensions, Child Support yadda, yadda. After going in and CONFIRMING this with a bank teller, I was informed less then a week later that my checks were not going to be deposited but my auto deductions would STILL go through. So, turning to the online banking, turns out i had an error and could not engage the auto banking but to call the 1-800 number. After calling the 1-800 number and waiting 20 min. I finally gave up and tried a week later and finally got help. Now i can only see my account and not the other account I'm connected too so I can no longer transfer money. Ridiculous all around. Hate this bank!

I joined Tri Counties bank over a year ago, when Washington Mutual got bought out by Chase banks and decided to start charging me money for an account that I'd had for over 10 years! I was walked through several options by Janet, the new account lady at my local branch. She was VERY helpful and explained EVERYTHING. She answered all my questions and didn't try to push any products on me. The best part is, I don't get charged anything per month and if I used automatic deposit, I get free interest accrued. I love it, and I hope to stay with Tri Counties for several years to come.
Tri Counties is well recommended in my community so I decided to give them some business when I was disappointed with some of my old bank's policies. I opened a checking and savings account with them, complete with automatic monthly deposits into my savings. I can see why Tri Counties has earned its reputation, as I have found it has a no frills, simple approach to banking. I have not encountered any hidden fees or monthly charges as of yet, mostly because there are not a lot of extra features here to begin with. Their online account management is serviceable, including their automatic bill pay which I found to be reliable. Customer service was also right in line with what I am used to, being both friendly and helpful. Tri Counties is a solid bank that does not stand out particularly in any one area, which should be most of its appeal in the first place. If you're looking for a simple bank that gets the job done, look no further.
