I have a line of credit and a personal loan with this bank, they have not reported to the credit bureaus my last 2 payments, do better
Good Afternoon Ed - I'm sorry I didn't comment right away, I wanted to talk with our member solutions folks to find out why there would be a delay in reporting. The manager told me they report every month, but sometimes the individual bureaus can take up to 60 days to post. Sunday I was fraudulently charged a second tab at a restaurant. I immediately notified the credit union and the restaurant. Here it is Wednesday and no response from either party. When i called the lady said it can take upto 7 days. I called them when i saw the amount pending they should’ve stop the charge before it was taken out. Now i have to wait 7 days to get my $49 back!
Update*** they called me & said they have 10 days to resolve the issue. So i went to the restaurant & called the police & the restaurant ended up refunding my $. I had to do all the work myself. That credit union was useless. Im going to a Bank that has more branches & Atm’s and responds faster!

Approval process took forever, but a great low APR and rewards aren't terrible. 14.9 percent and minimum of 1 point for each dollar.

Is my first time with Tropical Financial. I have a car loan with them and I've been charged the car twice in the due date for two consecutive months. My account was left on negative on both instances and every time I call they tell me that it was fixed and it happened again. Now I have to take money out of any pocket to pay for overdraft fees left on my account because they say the money can not be refunded to an external account which was the money taken out from. The customer service has not been able to resolve my situation on both occasions. Hopefully they can better their problem solving for future situations.

Tropical Federal Credit union is a credit union that care about you and your needs no matter what it is. My credit card or debit card are well secured. If it's a problem or fraud I can't even use them and will get an alert from the fraud department. Paying your credit on time and paying more than the amount due you will be very appreciated and will get reward for your timely payments every six months. Great bank but did not have a way to pay my bill using an outside bank at the time I used to use them. They may have corrected that by now.
Thanks Dawn for your comments and as a matter of fact we have fixed that issue. You now can pay your loan from an external source without needing online banking. From the front page of the website www.Tropicalfcu.com, you can click on the top navigation "Manage My Loan" and from there you can either pay your consumer loan, auto loan or lease, or mortgage AND you can also get an update on a loan application from the same page. I'm sorry we didn't have it when you were with us, we put it in place about 3 years ago. I'm very glad to hear the rest of your experience was a good one, and I hope we have the opportunity to earn your business again in the future. You closed all locations in Miami with the exception of one ' Hole in the wall' which is very inconvenient for me to do business with. You do however have 3 branches throughout Broward county! I've been a customer for 30 years but I will start doing business elsewhere.

I'm so sorry, I am just seeing this so I apologize for responding so late, we didn't get notifications from WalletHub for a few months.
Our decision to close branches came about after COVID hit. The majority of our members switched over to the digital platforms and when we surveyed our members to find out if they planned to return to the branches, the vast majority told us "no" - they liked the digital channels. As a credit union, it's important to continually analyze what we spend money on to be sure we are doing what is best for the cooperative. In this case we made the decision to close two branches - one in MIami/Dade and one in Broward. If you would like to discuss it further, I would be happy to talk to you in more detail. They have the most incompetent customer service of al time. They have sent my credit cards to the incorrect address. They keep you waiting on the phone for hours waiting to talk to someone. Today, I called five separate times trying to talk to a loan officer and wasn't able to talk to anyone. If you value your time, don't do business here.
I'm terribly sorry you had this experience. I'm also terribly sorry that we are just getting this review. The last several months we haven't received any review notifications. Do not use them at all to refinance your property. They are incompetent and have no follow up methods and constantly provided nothing but excuses for the lack of information or delays. Five weeks of wasted time and an appraisal that fell on deaf ears and lack of interest. i sent an email to cancel my loan process and not even a returned call or email to find out why. I guess they really do not value their customers or long term relationships. Hello Space Coast Credit Union.

The loan itself is meant to be a member benefit and actually costs the credit union so we added the application fee to cover the costs of origination and servicing. Good Morning - we do not have any physical branches of our own on the west side of the state, but we are part of the shared branch network. so you can plug in the zip code or the address where you are and find the nearest shared branch location: https://co-opcreditunions.org/locator/ . I plugged in 33765 and 20 shared branch locations popped up, so you should be able to find something not too far away.
Great question! As a credit union, we do have a "field of membership" that allows only people who live or work in South Florida counties to open accounts at TFCU. Those counties are: Miami-Dade, Broward, Palm Beach, St. Lucie, Martin, Hendry, Collier, Lee and Sarasota. You also can join if you are an employee of one of our Partner Companies. A list of our partner companies can be found on the account application page. Income
Amount of debt
Payment history
Relationship with TFCU
