UBS One source (for ESPP) has always frustrating to deal with. 1) Customer service guy (via phone, 1 person crew) is rude, hates his job, and a complete moron. 2) They charge ridiculous high fees and will charge them on just about everything you do. 3) Their website is poorly designed, always down for maintenance, confusing to navigate, doesn't have any useful features, nor provide obvious information like past transactions, history. ect. 4) When selling your stock, they always get filled way below current market bid/ask prices. Likewise, limit orders never get filled until prices are much higher. I suspect they are not being traded at major exchanges i.e. NYSE/NQ but rather get sent over to dark pools or high frequency traders that pay UBS. 5) Fund transfers take forever. On most occasions it's taken me over a month to receive my funds. Why it takes so long to process my funds? UBS probably keeps very little liquid capital and engages in very risky behavior, like most EU banks. Maybe they are already insolvent and will declare bankrupcy. Thus I do not keep any significant amount with UBS and am continuously withdrawing as I have no intention having to deal with a bank run down the road.
Personally I would have no business with UBS if it wasn't for my employer.
