I will never bank anywhere else!!! I have been down on my luck since covid started and I didn't have much money but I still made it work. Then one day I saw my account was overdrawn and I immediately tried to contact the bank to see if I could get my fee waved... (part where I start tearing up) this very nice man said he would wave my fee and it might not show up for a few days but then he said he put $311 in my account... at this point I'm thinking i miss heard him but then I went and looked in my account there it was! Money for food, rent and my daughter's back to school clothes!!! I never in my life have had something like this happen and clearly unitus hires not just good workers but good people who lend a hand when hard times happen. You will not regret banking with unitus.
AMANDA HOFFMAN @ 9200 SE 82nd Ave Happy Valley Or, 98086
Amanda handled a customer transaction revolving around using UCCU acct to transfer funds into another institutions checking acct.
Received 'overdraft' acct from transferring to institution.
Amanda explained what had happened, why, how it could be resolved.
The IMPORTANT PART IS: I had offered a solution first; Amanda 'REALIZED' this would not be the best choice to the customer and explained the option I chose.
WHAT SHE DIDN'T DO ( good) Did not repeat back to me what I had said and then act quizzically, as if don't understand.
She 'INTUITITVELY' understood, based on COMMON SENSE.
Previously had abysmal service with UCCU and their off shore customer service costing me with investments. The approach at the bank was not amenable when I arrived concerned and confused. Hopefully, corporate will appreciate Amanda and ( I suggest) having compensated...for training new employees.
Sorry, corporate. Watching video, doesn't cut it.
It’s great for a first time credit card. It’s through my bank/credit union.
Unitus Credit Union is incompetent, two recurring debits, not enough money, I forgot to cancel, the First one didn't go through, the second one did charged my account $30, no one can tell me why the first one didn't go through but the second one did!
To update this review, I was very frustrated with them when I wrote this review. My branch was closed due to poor air quality outside?, I wasn’t able to do a 20k deposit online, I drove to another branch that had a open drive through where I was treated rudely by the manager who then put an 11 day hold on my deposit (that I feel was done out of spite) and on my receipt said was due to a new account (that account is 10+ years old) The saving grace is that I just received a phone call from a representative of the bank that had heard I was unhappy and she seems to be diligently trying to help the situation.
We have had an auto loan with Unitus since October 2019. Due to our own lack of timeliness, we didn't update our insurance company swiftly about the purchase of our new vehicle.
Unitus was informed our vehicle wasn't added to an insurance policy until 45 days after purchase. Since the vehicle needs insurance in order for the loan to be backed, Unitus added insurance to our account/loan; which they have the right to do. HOWEVER, those 45 days or so of coveraged was charged at $1,125! INSANE! To put that in perspective, our 6 month deductible is $900.
We have a very well known and reputable insurance company and our policy covers new vehicles purchased for the first 30 days automatically per our policy. So based on the policy, we would have been covered for the first 30 days automatically, and would only have a lapse in coverage for approximately 15 days or so.
After speaking with a Unitus rep and our insurance company rep on the phone in conference call, the Unitus rep tried their very best to word questions of clarification which would make us, their customer, at fault; which would allow them to charge us the absurd amount of $1,125 for 45 days worth of insurance coverage. Once I had the opportunity to speak on the call we were all able to confirm that there was active coverage for the vehicle for the first 30 days and that there was only a lapse of 15 days of coverage which we should be charged for. With TONS of hesitation, the Unitus rep finally agreed that hearing this direct from our insurance company was sufficient to get our account updated and money refund to us.
This did not happen. A week later I had to be on the phone again, for over an hour. Talking through the same exact scenario with a SUPERVISOR of Unitus and our insurance rep. I am supposed to get an update tomorrow on whether or not they can officially refund us money, but with this taking over 3 weeks, I have little confidence.
Their customer service is horrible. They try to get as much money out of you as possible. It's even more disappointing during such a tough economic time currently, that Unitus has no sympathy and lack of urgency for their own customer. I cannot wait to get my loan refinanced with a different company once this tough economic time is over.

I currently have an auto loan through Unitus at a high interest rate. My credit rating is over 800. Why is my interest rate this high?
How do I get a Unitus Platinum Rewards Visa credit limit increase?
You can get a Unitus Platinum Rewards Visa® Card credit limit increase online by signing in to your account or by calling (503) 423-8770. Unfortunately, the issuer doesn't offer automatic increases for its cardholders.
Keep in mind that credit limit increases are a hard pull on your credit and might affect your credit score temporarily. For better chances of being granted an increase, it's best to wait a few months after account opening to request one. Meanwhile, it also helps to pay your bills on time and to work on your credit score and income.
