We were the victim of a bait and switch! They verbally promised us a HELOC with .5% off the Prime Rate. They only honored .25% off the rate. They claim the other .25% is only available when paying back "conventional loans" through a WSFS checking account.
we live in PA and they gave someone that lives in DE a personal loan in my wifes maiden name and the funds were deposited into a bank acct in DE, the bank the funds were deposited in verified with all her info she has never had an acct set up there. she sent all her documents plus a police report to WSFS and they still denied it and said the loan was valid and shes responsible. every time she calls a supervisor is unavailable and they never call her back when she requests a call back, its very frustrating they wont even tell her what other proof they need. We have never even been to delaware and have proof we were definitely not there the day the money was deposited. also they should be able to see whose account the electronic check was deposited in but once again they wont assist. Would never ever recommend this bank, seems like they make all their money by giving loans to scammers and selling it to collection agencies.

On 1/2/2022 I received a fraud alert indicating that my Visa debit card may have been used. Once I confirmed that the transactions were not authorized by me, and were not me I was told the account would have the funds provisionally replaced. I have had an account at this bank ( first Beneficial) for over 36=years. As of today 1/7/2022 my funds have not been replaced and everyday I receive a new message as to when that might occur ranging from 2 days to 90 days. This is totally unacceptable and does not represent banking industry standards. When this is all finally resolving I will be severing my relationship with WSFS for they are not in anyway living up to their name.
On September 27, 2021, I called WSFS 1-800 customer service number and spoke to Jordan about transferring my maturing CD funds to my checking account. Jordan said the transfer would take about four days. After ten days I phoned to check the status and was told it was being processed.
In mid-October I spoke to Thomas when the funds were not transferred. Thomas said there was a problem and the transfer did not go through. Thomas said he would investigate and get back to me, which he did not. In the meantime I received a notice that the certificate was renewed.
I called a fourth time and spoke to Merissa. Merissa said the department handling the transaction chose the wrong account. I know I gave Jordan the correct account number. The account WSFS chose was my sister’s which was closed months ago and had an account number totally different from mine. There is no way WSFS could have confused the two accounts. The department handling the transfer said they emailed Jordan about the problem, but Jordan never contacted me.
Merissa was able to straighten everything out and I was not charged a penalty for redeeming the certificate.
Both my sister and I closed our IRA accounts and also closed our remaining WSFS accounts.
I know the loss of two customers doesn’t mean much to a big bank. Perhaps it would make an impression if a hundred or a thousand customers with large balances started to leave WSFS.
Horrible service, rude call center! I consistently have fraud issues on my account and they do little to assist and almost refused to give me my money back. Switching banks as we speak! Don’t waste your time getting an account here.
Whoever see this message PLEASE DO NOT BANK WITH WSFS. THE MANAGER HUNG UP ON ME TODAY BECAUSE SHE WAS TIRED OF DEALING WITH MY ISSUSES ABOUT A DISPUTE THAT I WANTED HANDLE. PLEASE DO NOT BANK WITH THEM. I BEEN WITH THEM FOR THREE YAERS AND RECEIVE A SETTLEMENT AND ONE OF THE TELLERS ASK ME WHAT I WAS GOING TO DO WITH MY MONEY WAS I GOING TO BUY A CAR WITH MY SETTLEMENT I SHOULD HAVE RAN THEN THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TRASH. I CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND WENT TO ANOTHER BANK. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT GOOD AT ALL. THE THE MANGER HAD THE NERVE TO HAVE AN ATTITUDE WITH ME. BECAUSE I PUT A DISPUTE IN. RUN RUN RUN
