I have been banking with Barclays us for several years and have several CDS with them, as well as two savings accounts, and I had intended on just leaving the interest until the CDS matured..
My problems began when I wanted to check their last financial statement for the third quarter of 2017, I was shocked they told me they are not required to do that, and gave different numbers that were all disconnected of course. Then all my monthly statements disappeared as if these accounts were no existent. I worked with them for a week no resolution.
This prompted me to close all Savings accounts, and transfer all the accumulated interest from the CDS., and discontinue any more Deposits with this Bank. It also prompted me to do more research, to find out this Bank does not make loans to Consumers, so I asked them what are they doing with all this money they are inducing people to Deposit, no answer of course.
I have now had to file a complaint with the Consumer Financial protection Bureau. I was even more horrified when I googled about Barclays and found people saying their money had just disappeared from their accounts as if it never existed in Barclays Uk. Barclays has on their web site , they state Barclays is their parent Company, this is no longer seems to be the Case either in information I saw.
I am posting my experiences so people can be aware of the problems. In reading a lot of other reviews, Barclays US seems to be okay while they are getting money from you , but a lot of Consumers State they have a problem when they want their money.…read more
I opened two Dream accounts for my minor children two weeks ago. Interest rates are great and representatives are very helpful. The biggest issue I have is their website will not load up. I have called twice and they stated they were making some changes to their website. I have tried accessing the website through my phone, laptop and PC. I've only been able to open up the accounts online and then a few minutes later the website will not load up. If the issue is not resolved, I will close both accounts and accept a lower interest rate elsewhere.…read more
I have a few different savings accounts I use for different purposes. I really like my Barclays Dream Savings Account because they have a fairly good interest rate which is higher than what most other banks out there provide. The customer service is top notch as well and I have no complaints with them in that department. There are no fees to use the account either. No monthly maintenance fees or anything like that, which a lot of other banks have been adding as a way to squeeze every last dime out of you. Overall, Barclays is a great bank to have a savings account with.…read more
Barclays is one the few big banks that believes that people deserve more than a .001% interest rate on their savings account. I have never had any issues with Barclay when it comes to getting my money out when I need it. In addition to this their customer service is outstanding which of course helps if their are ever any problems. At a nice 1% yearly interest rate, this is a great place to keep cash that you might need in the future but dont want to risk on the stock market. The only suggestion that I would have for them is to beef up their online interface and make it more user friendly and easier to understand.…read more
I have had my Barclay's Online Savings account about 6 months now. I can say that is has been very easy to use, and that I've not had many issues. I did have one problem with my account somehow getting hacked, but I was able to resolve the issue fairly easily and within a timely manner. I like that there is no monthly fee. That is what originally attracted me to use this service. There's no withdrawal fee, and you can use checks. It had everything I needed. I would recommend this savings account to anyone that is interested in getting one.…read more
I have used the Barclay's Online Savings Account for about a year now and I love it. It's easy to set up, and easy to use. The annual percentage rate is one of the highest I have found for a savings account and that is what had attracted me to set up an account with them. I have always had a hard time saving money but with Barclay's and the waiting times in regards to transferring money into my checking account has helped me save a significant amount over the year. You can deposit as much or as little as you want immediately into the saving's account however it takes a few days to transfer back out. I like that feature because it helps me keep my money in my savings.…read more
I have a Barclays Dream Savings Account and I am really happy with the account. I trust the bank fully, especially since my money is FDIC insured so I feel great that my savings is in safe hands. I wish the interest rate was higher but it is a little above one which I am content with. Given the current economic situation with all interest rates being low this is to be expected. The account performs all of the necessary functions I need which is primarily keeping my money safe and accessible which Barclays offers and delivers quite well to me.…read more
I have a few different savings accounts for different purposes. One of my main accounts is with Barclays, as I have a Dream Savings Account with them. I have been very satisfied with their service. There are no crazy fees just to store money with them. There are also no withdrawal costs or minimum balance or anything like that. the account is very good, and I really have no complaints about them. The company itself has great customer service and they will definitely do their best to help you with whatever problem you may have. Overall, I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a good savings account.…read more
The Barclays Dream Savings account is aptly named because, at least for me, it has been a dream. I love the fact that with this account you get a solid interest rate to earn you some money and there are no monthly or withdrawal fees—that to me is the most attractive feature of this account. This account has been great for me because it has allowed me to save money for a car, while at the same time also allowing me to dip in to the account without penalty and take funds outs in a pinch. I recommend this account to anyone trying to find an easy way to put away a little cash.…read more
I've used my Barclays Dream Savings Account for a few years now for my savings and I love their high interest rates. It's some of the best you will find in a savings account. They have no fees or anything like that which is very nice, and especially since a bunch of popular savings account banks out there charge monthly maintenance fees. The customer service is great, and they really take care of you in other ways, like if you make monthly deposits, they will increase the interest rates to a pretty nice amount. Overall, this has got to be one of the best savings accounts on the market.…read more
Is the additional 2.5% for six consecutive months based on my account's balance or the interest earned? For Example, if my account has a balance of $1,000 after six monthly deposits what is the final amount.
$1,000 + 1.05% = $1,010.50 and the 2.5 bonus on my balance would be $1,035.76 or
$1,000 + 1.05% = $1,010.50 and the 2.5 bonus is applied to interest earned $1,010.76
The Dream savings account offers a slightly higher interest rate than the regular savings account. Also, the regular savings account has no maximum monthly deposit while with the dream account you can only deposit a maximum of $1,000 per month.
