I have several savings accounts with Citibank. One of the nice things about Citibank is that they have no problem with the fact that I have five distinct savings accounts - each of them with a specific purpose. It really helps be to keep track of my savings for specific goals. While I've never had any problems, I did once need to contact them for further information. I went through two customer service representatives before I finally got one that was fluent in English. While I understand that corporations use outsourcing to save money, I really prefer to discuss financial details with somebody that (a) I can understand easily and (b) that I feel confident understands me.…read more
My family switched over to citibank when my father's company got acquired; I have never been happier with a savings account. All the employees at my branch are always very friendly and very helpful. The ability to use online banking has saved such a large amount of my time that I can't imagine having a savings account that doesn't have online banking! I also have a few loans through citi, and my parents mortgage is through citi, so having all our accounts with one great provider is a huge benefit for us all. They have a great interest rate and it actually inspires me to save my money, which is a great practice to have!…read more
I currently use Citi's savings account because all of my other accounts are connected to Citi. What I can say is that I've never once had a problem in my decade long relationship with CITI. No withdrawal fees and no minimum. Interest rate is decent but I give 5 stars just because it't that easy to have and maintain. I'd rather have no problems as opposed to great interest rates with loads of issues.
The interest on the saving account is barely anything. However, the amount of money you have on your saving account can be consider as minimum balance that's required by the bank to maintain. There's a combined minimum balance, but that's a different story. I have this saving account just for the fact that the bank wants me to have it, so I just open one. There's really no advantage to it.
I have used my citibank savings for 3 years now and love it. The interest rate i receive each month is wonderful plus its so easy to use. I like that i can also have alerts sent to my phone to let me know the balance. If the balance ever drops below a certain amount they let me know. I couldn't ask for a better savings account. If you want a good savings account go with this one. You won't be unhappy about it.…read more
I don’t know about you, but saving money is not always easy for me. But I really wanted to surprise my husband with a huge vacation for his 50th birthday. I knew I was going to need help saving the money so I went into our bank, Citibank. The customer service person, help me setup a perfect way to save money. I was able to put my money into a savings account that actually got interest too. I am so excited to spring the vacation on my husband because I know he deserves it.…read more
I've had a Citibank savings account for just a little while now and have to say it's been pretty simple to get acquainted with. I would have to say my favorite part of this account is the fact I can set up my external sources of income, such as Amazon Payments, to do instant transfers direction into my savings account.
The whole push Citibank has done with making their business model revolve more around online banking has really gone far in my eyes. It's ease of use, functionality and security all work well with my lifestyle.
If I did have to change one thing it would be the limit to only being able to deposit a check over a mobile phone or tablet to just your checking account. I wish it could just go into the savings account like all of my other external wire transfers.
All in all, very happy with this account!…read more
The great thing about Citi Bank savings account is that it allows me to transfer funds internationally at a low cost. As someone who sends money frequently to my relatives overseas, City Bank allows me to transfer them with ease. If and when I do make a transfer, they send me a notification both through text and email, which is incredibly reassuring for someone who works hard just to send his family some money. I do not mind the transaction fees for international money transfers as long as it gets there and Citi Bank does just that. For every transfer in person, they always reassure me the time and date it would arrive and if any problems were to arise, that they would call me. There have not been any problems in the past two years so I am glad I made the right choice in picking Citi Bank.…read more
I started out with a CitiBank paycard from my work and had a really good experience with it, good customer service and a well designed website for checking my balances, transactions etc. So I decided to apply for a CitiBank saving account. This is the first time I have ever held an account with CitiBank so far I am loving it. I like the website and I loved the fact this particular account had no monthly fees etc. that many banks try to stick to their customers now days. CitiBank gets 5 stars from me.…read more
I got a 1 year CD with Citibank about 7 months ago. I have really only experienced one problem. Their online banking service could use some improvement. There have been multiple calls back and forth between us trying to get my account verified so I can check my accounts online. It took about a month and a half for them to verify my online credentials so my username and login would lead me to my personal account. Other than that it has been a pleasant experience overall.…read more
I wanted a way to save money that was essentially risk free and would give me a way to get my money out quick if push came to shove, this citibank CD did all that and more: it gave me a nice little return on my money. Add to it the level of service and professional that citibank provides and I have to say that I am totally won over. I would definitely consider getting another CD, possibly a more long term one in the future. Totally worth looking into for someone try to save a little more.…read more
I've had a CitiBank Savings account for about 2 years now. It is my primary account for my savings. It is easy to use and very simple. Interest could be better, but it is better than several others that I've researched about. I've had to ask a few questions and every answer was was professional and quick. Wouldn't choose anyone else.
A few years back I realized that I wasn’t doing a very good job at saving money. So I wanted to get a CD where I knew that if I saved the money on the CD I would make a good investment. I shopped around for a while and saved money to put into the CD. I ran across Citi-bank because I have a credit card with them I decided to check into their savings account plans. I found that they had a really good interest rate and that there were no monthly or yearly fees, with that I was sold and opened my first CD. I now feel confident I can save money for the future with Citi-bank.…read more
I have always been a huge fan of Citibank. They have great customer service and I like their online banking system. However, I've been very disappointed by their savings account options. I got this CD before doing a lot of research on competitors. After, I realized that the interest rate was much lower than I could have found elsewhere.
This is a great savings account! I have had other savings accounts and this is by far the best! Their fees are low and their rates are amazing.Their interest rate is amazing. I have had this account for over a year, and anytime I have a question about something regarding the account, I just call customer service and they help me out! I would recommend this savings account to anyone!
I've been a customer of Citibank for 10 years. I've had a savings plus account for a few years now. It's a pretty basic savings account that gives you the opportunity to earn more interest, depending on how much money you have in your savings account. However, the interest rates are still pretty low, as they are with most banks these days. However, I have had a good experience with the account. The online and mobile banking are easy to use. It's fast and simple to transfer money between my accounts and to pay bills. I also get extra rewards by linking my savings account to my thank you rewards account. Overall, I'd recommend it.…read more
I have had the Citibank Savings Plus Account as my primary savings account for a few years now. Overall the savings account is great. I have not had any issues with it at all. The location is close to me which makes it very convenient for me. I use this account to accumulate savings each month for a safety net in the event of an emergency. Overall I do not earn very much on interest, but the account is great for me to just put money away and save. Overall the bank's staff has been very helpful and I have had no issues with them at all. This savings account is highly recommended by me.…read more
The Chase Savings Plus Account has been my primary use savings account for over four years now. They offer not only the convenience of having a location near my home, great bankers who i can work with when i need to stop in, a very smooth online bank program that makes it easy for someone who is not computer savvy to navigate. They also offer pretty good interest rates that are better than a lot of competitors. This is my favorite savings account. I would recommend it to anyone looking to bank and save their hard earned money with ease. 5 Stars…read more
I have had a savings account with Citibank for two years. I primarily use this account to put away money from my paycheck for future emergencies when I need the money. The interest rate is reasonable and an added bonus, although I do not see my money grow much because I do not have a lot of money. I have never had any issues with my account here at all. in fact, if I had to open another savings account I would consider Citibank as my first choice again. I have also recommended a few friends to join Citibank as well for their banking and credit needs. Overall I am very happy with my account here.…read more
It's not as if you'll ever see enormous gains by leaving your money in a savings account, but the Citibank savings account does offer an interest rate better than a lot of others I looked at. I've banked with Citi for a long time anyway, so there would have had to be some very amazingly better option out there anyway. There's not really anything special about it; it's pretty bare bones actually, but there is no fee or minimum balance requirement. Basically, it's just a safe place to store money for a rainy day, and if it does accrue interest at a slightly less glacial pace, all to the good.…read more
I have a Citibank Regular Day to Day Savings and I can say that I'm satisfied. I opened the account because I was looking for a safe place to put some of the extra money I was making as a freelance videographer and this service meets my needs. It's a basic savings account but that worked for me because it only requires a low opening deposit (my initial deposit was just $100). Like all big banks, it's FDIC insured and the thing I like best about the account is that I have access to my funds basically anytime, anywhere. I am able to transfer funds from a non-Citibank account via their "Inter Institution Transfers" which is very convenient and since I've kept at least $500 in my account, I've avoided having to pay the monthly fee. I'd definitely give the Citibank Regular Day to Day Savings a solid four stars.…read more
I have been using Citibank Savings Account for long time. I started with a free checking and saving account. No monthly or yearly fees. The customer service is always great. Whenever i have a problem they fix it in a heartbeat. Setting up an online account is very easy and quick. checking information using your smart phone is very fast even with a slow connection. You can check your account balance or even transfer money. ATM are widely available throughout the city. Using a 3rd party ATM can be a little pricey sometimes. All in all I'm very happy with Citibank Savings Account and recommend anyone giving them a chance.…read more
I have been extremely happy with my Citibank savings Plus Account. I have some of my monthly check deposited into this account and let it sit there until I need it for an emergency or major purchase. My deposits always go through in a timely manner and I have never had any negative encounter with my account at all. I am very please with Citibank and would easily recommend others to open accounts here if they were looking for a new bank. I will definitely continue to use my account and possibly open a new account in the future based on my very positive banking experience.…read more
I never had much money to invest in a savings account until one event happened, I came across a large sum of money from a lotto win. So when I first was in the market to deposit my recent lottery winnings into a savings account I first looked at Citibank and I haven't looked back since then! Citibank offers a fantastic interest rate for a shy deposit amount of what competitors offer. There sign up process was also a breeze, I signed up online and talked over the phone with a rep to get my account activated. For a person who is new in the market for a savings account, Citibank was one of the best choices I could have possibly made!…read more
I’ve had a Citibank savings account since college. I am really surprised at how easy it is to make deposits even though there isn’t a branch very close to me. I haven’t seen any many other banks that allow remote deposits with a cell phone which is incredibly convenient. Who likes standing in lines at the bank just to make a deposit? I’ve never had to contact Citibank because of any problems, which is a good sign, but I also can’t comment much on their customer service. Opening an account was slightly more difficult than some other banks and credit unions that I’ve used, but it was manageable and definitely worth it for the benefits.…read more
I signed up for my savings account right when I turned eighteen. Every month since then, I've added $100 and it's been amazing watching my account grow! The interest rate isn't that great when you're starting off, but if you just keep adding money in there, the interest will pay off! This account is also good because they don't have a lock on it so you can access your money whenever you want. I would recommend setting one up for your children so that by the time they're eighteen, they will already have a lot of money in there.…read more
Citi is a fantastic bank for transactions. They have their services everywhere, good enough credit facilities, decent credit and cashback awards, but when it comes to savings, they are no where near the mark. Extremely low on interest rates, be it on Fixed or Recurring Deposits, Citi never stands a change against competitors. I do not know why, but they have never seemed to care about it. I guess they really care about rolling money and not much about money thats stagnating. That said, it drives away a good number of customers, but they take no steps to overcome it which is the most intriguing part. Not good enough for saving schemes!…read more
I have tremendously enjoyed using Citibank and I really like their service. I was talking to a few people on the phone and they were really helpful with my student loans. They made sure to tell me how much the interest of the bank is, and they also helped me sort out my loans. I was really appreciative for what they done. I would highly recommend it to anyone and I would always give them another shot. I have already recommended this service to my friends and family and they are thrilled to be using this service and this bank account.…read more
I absolutely love citibank! Before them, I was with TD. TD always gave me hoops to go through, on a constant basis. They would randomly shut my account off, have terrible glitches, and bad customer support. I decided on Citibank due to the convenience of locations, and I couldn't be happier. All of their branches are extremely clean and modern; their customer support has ALWAYS been extremely helpful whenever I needed them. They've even waived overdraft fees for me when I've run into issues. Their interest on Savings isn't that high (none of the banks have high interest, though), but I do feel safe and secure leaving my money with them. I would highly recommend this bank!…read more
I have been a Citi credit card user for many years. I have had good experiences working with them on the credit card side of things. However I have not had the best experience when it comes to the savings account which I opened with them a few years ago. Twice I have tried to close it -- since it is hard to get money out of and I don't like that there are no banks that I can walk into to get assistance. I am frustrated with their lack of help when it comes to closing an account, or looking into other options. They have been good about not charging fees, but I do not feel like there have been any other benefits.…read more
I have both a savings account as well as a credit card with Citibank. I like to have savings accounts in multiple banks because it gives me peace of mind. So far, I feel that Citibank’s customer service is exceptional. I am very pleased with their friendly service, and how fast and easy it was to set up a savings account with them. I applied for a savings account in person at my local branch and the employees were very friendly and explained the whole process and perks in great detail. I really love their credit card as well, especially their virtual credit card feature. Most other credit cards do not have this feature, and I really like how I can make a temporary credit card number with a monetary limit for online purchases. This way, my real credit card stays safe from online thieves. Overall, I give this bank 5 stars for wonderful quality.…read more
An established and long standing bank, this institution seems to have grown stagnant and not very welcoming of newer customers despite their importance to continued prosperity and growth. I was treated quite rudely when I inquired about starting a new account here, as they seem to value affluence and existing wealth rather highly in their potential customers and do not take kindly to the less fortunate trying to better themselves. Their starting balance requirements are designed to keep undesirables out, and their staff seems well trained to shoo them along. A bank to avoid unless you are looking to feel superior and part of an elitist club, but beware if they do not view you as a passable member.…read more
