Friendly staff for sure, but not real user friendly. I have a savings account and IRA with this bank however I do not use them for checking because of the location for me is 30 miles from home. I like to be a part of this credit union because they have been in business for many years here on the Island and have a good reputation.
I would not recommend them for a loan, rates are high and it is not an easy process with them.
I have not considered them for anything other than the basics at this time due to the complications of trying to process a home loan with them and found it to take way to much time and effort only to end up disappointed. Other than that I am quite happy to belong to a credit union and feel it is a good choice for what I need.
I recently moved to Kona and wanted a local credit union. I found Hawaii Community Federal Credit Union was relatively close to both my work and home. They have very friendly tellers who have remembered me by name and account number only after about a month. Their rates aren't quite as competitive as some of the other larger credit unions on Oahu but their convenience more than makes up for it. They have online banking which makes bill pay and transfers much easier to do as well. All in all a good credit union and a great atmosphere to have at least a savings account with.
In the event that in a given week, for this product, there were multiple applicable rates in our database based on different criteria, the above graph reflects the lowest interest rate recorded. Before submitting an application, always verify with the issuing institution (i.e. bank, credit union, other lender) the rates, fees, and all terms and conditions accompanying the application.
