I have had a regular savings account with Wells Fargo for years, and wanted to add something to help me save a bit more money without thinking much of it. When I was at a branch location, one of the reps suggested the Way2Save savings account, and I have really enjoyed it. I have automatic transfers each month from my checking to my savings, so I avoid any monthly fee. Additionally, with each charge to my checking account, a dollar is transferred from my checking to my savings. You don’t really notice it, but this does start to add up! The interest rate isn’t really much to speak of, but that wasn’t my main concern with this account anyways. I have never had any problems with any of my accounts with Wells Fargo, and I really enjoy having this savings account with them!…read more
I have my Way 2 Save savings account with Wells Fargo and I have been very pleased with Wells Fargo. I enjoy the convenience of transferring money between my savings and checking account. It usually takes no more than a couple of minutes and I can transfer money online. Having had other savings accounts that required a minimum balance, I was attracted to the savings account with Wells Fargo because it was free of any minimum balance requirement. The only problem that I've ever had with this account was from not being familiar with the Way 2 Save Program. I wasn't quite aware that money would be transferred from my checking account to my savings account each time I used my card when I started with the Way 2 Save account and the automatic transfers actually led to my checking account over-drafting on one occasion. Wells Fargo was very helpful and waived the fee as a courtesy. After learning this, I haven't had this issue again. All in all, I've been extremely satisfied with my Wells Fargo savings account.…read more
I have one of my multiple savings accounts with Wells Fargo (as well as a checking account). I’ve had my account slightly more than a year. I’ve no problems and there really is nothing spectacular to share…. Except the fact that I have NEVER been provided with the exceptional level of customer service and professionalism that I have with Wells Fargo. The only down side, specifically related to my savings, is the minimum balance required to avoid the monthly fee. Now, I have a balance far exceeding the minimum requirement, but my first few months establishing my savings, I kept being charged the fee for not meeting the minimum. I think they should either lower the minimum requirement OR, IMO, the best option, get rid of it all together, for those with a checking, in attempts to promote people saving.…read more
I have been using Wells Fargo as my savings account provider for over three years now. My experience with them thus far has been nothing but positive. My savings account information is easily accessible and when I have had questions or issues in the past their customer service team is prompt and efficient at addressing my concerns. Wells Fargo also has a great mobile app so that my savings account balance is easily available if I need to check my balance. I also appreciate the fact that with the size of Wells Fargo, I am never far from a branch of an ATM that I can access my savings account if needed. While 'big banks' can definitely get a bad reputation, I feel Wells Fargo does a great job of earning my continued loyalty with the operations of their savings account program.…read more
I've had the Way2Save savings for aprox. 1 year now, I really like it. I know it's not that much of an interest rate but it works like a piggy bank. I've had some difficulty trying to stay above the 300 balance required to avoid the fee because of recurring emergencies, I don't make that much money and we are a low income family. Apart from that, I love how everytime I make a payment with my debit card it transfers money automatically to my savings since I linked my accounts. Very efficient, don't expect to make money from the interest rates but overall I trust this bank so that's why I have it.…read more
We've had our account for several years now. I've had generally no problems with it, however, try as we might, we can't keep the balance over the $300 due to emergency needs(car, doctors, vets, etc). I really do wish there was such a thing as a savings account that didn't charge or fault you for needing to go below the minimum for emergencies. We are a lower middle class family, and struggle to live month to month on what we have. Watching what little money is left in our account dwindle away month by month because we simply don't have the extra to put back in is discouraging to me.…read more
I have been using the Way2Save account for about 6 years now. I love how low the fees are and how well it integrates with my checking account. If my checking account overdraws then the Way2save will automatically try to transfer funds into my checking account so that i don't have to pay an overdraft fee. The customer service for Wells fargo is top notch and while the account doesn't have the highest of interest rates, its consistent and very safe.…read more
My favorite features of my Way2Save account are the low fees and ease of use. I have automatic monthly transfers from my Checking account in order to make sure I save for the future. I greatly appreciate the linked account overdraft protection I get with this account. It's the only savings account I've ever had and I plan on keeping it that way for the foreseeable future! Wells Fargo has always been very helpful in resolving any kinds of issues I run into with any of my three accounts. They have quickly cleared up any and all fraud issues I've had over the past 10 years.…read more
I have really enjoyed my way2save account. The fact that it is linked to my checking account is very efficient for saving money quite well. However, it sometimes makes me tight on money after several uses, since $1.00 comes out of your checking into you savings every time you use your debit card, no matter how small the purchase. There is a $5.00 monthly fee if you let your account drop below $300, which is good so long as you avoid withdrawing from your account. Even in an emergency, $5 isn’t too bad. My previous bank charged $10. The interest rate here is pretty low, as to be expected from a savings account. Overall, I am very pleased with my savings account. Wells Fargo has been a wonderful bank to me.…read more
I opened a Wells Fargo Money market account about 3 years ago. I think that it was very easy to open and I love the fact that there is no minimum amount to start with. So, I started with a small amount and just added more and more money each month. Which has a compound effect. The rate for the money market account is not the greatest but no money market account really is. They are all low. My favorite part is that there is no fees involved. I don't have to worry about getting nickeled and dimed every which way I look. So, over all I would recommend them to anyone that is trying to start saving money and doesn't have a lot of it.…read more
We have had Way2Save savings account with Wells Fargo for quite a while. It is set up to automatically transfer a single dollar per debit card transaction from our associated checking account to our savings account. This is a nice feature to build savings without really feeling the pinch. The interest rate is low, but that seems to be just be the nature of things with savings accounts like this. The online interface is nice and functional, and it's easy to set up recurring transfers and such. I would recommend Wells Fargo Way2Save savings accounts to WF account holders. It is a nice addition to an existing checking account.…read more
I've put down a reasonable amount of money down on a CD at Wells Fargo for my son whenever he's of age to be out on his own. I talked to the representative at my local Wells Fargo branch and they easily were able to hook me up with a 5 year CD. I plan to continually put this money back into another CD after these 5 years. The representative helped me in a fast and understanding fashion, it was almost effortless. I simply had to tell her what I wanted to do and she helped me set it up immediately. I have had nothing but a great experience with Wells Fargo. I had no problems whatsoever setting it up and I would definitely do it again.…read more
I had Way 2 Save for a long time. Every time I swiped my card,it would deduct 1.00 from my checking into my savings: great for a family that makes adequate money, but I have to pinch pennies to come up with enough for groceries a month. It was nice to link the account to my checking account, but that came with an automatic overdraft protection at a rate of 12.50/transaction. At least 3 times, had to dispute these transactions because the bank transferred money and charged me, even when I had the funds to cover the charge. Combine these drawbacks with the ridiculously low interest rate and I had to leave Wells Fargo. I'm with a credit union now and enjoying the benefits that comes along with it!…read more
I simply love my Wells Fargo Business Market Rate savings account. It was super easy to open my business savings account. My business banker was so helpful. She also was very patient because I had my children with me and they were being a handful. I really love the incredible ease of which I can access my account online. There are so many business money management tools to choose from online. Amazing! And, best of all the monthly fees are super low if you don't meet your account minimum balance each month - for small business owners, that's a HUGE plus!!!…read more
I opened up my Wells Fargo Way 2 Save savings account several years ago when I opened up my Essential Checking account. They recommended that I open up both accounts for two reasons. Firstly my savings account would serve as an overdraft fund on any occasion in which my checking account ran out of funds. The money would then come out of my Way 2 Save account without any fees or penalties. Secondly, I can set up a certain amount (say $10 a week) to automatically come out of my checking account so that it is easy to build my savings up a little at a time. As long as a minimum of five dollars is kept in the account there is no monthly fee. Overall I am happy with this Wells Fargo savings account.…read more
I have had many saving accounts in my life some good, some bad. But the wells Fargo Way2save savings account is by far one of the best accounts i have ever had. first of all this account allows you to link with your checking which is very convenient. It also helps you save! How do you ask? well this savings account links with your debit card and reward you with money every time you used your debit card. Having this account is a no-brainer, who would not want an account where u can actually save money as you make purchases. This account also has top notch security so it is very safe. Overall i give my experience with this account 5 stars.…read more
I was given a savings account when I opened a free student checking account, and rarely use it, but I leave money in this specific account because it has overdraft protection to my checking account. Instead of paying $35 overdraft fee, it is only $12.50 if I accidentally overdraft, which is nice! Although I don't really ever overdraft, I like being reassured that I have that option.
Opened a savings account when I opened my checking account with wells fargo about a year ago. Unlike other banks there is no fee for withdrawing money from that account, which I like. Though I try to never touch the money in there. As long as I maintain a certain balance withing the savings account I avoid the monthly fee of $5. The best thing I like about this savings account is that every week when my paycheck is directly deposited into my checking account I was able to set an amount to automatically be deducted and put into the saving account. I have actually been able to save up more easily now with this feature. Interest rates are not to great since I dont have a whole lot of money in there. But that's not what I got it for. I just wanted a place to start saving a little here and there, and this way2save savings account has provided everything I need in a basic saving account. I am quite pleased with it.…read more
I have had my Wells Fargo Way 2 Save savings and checking account combo for several years now. The interest rate isn't great, especially since I don't have a lot of money in there, but it is a convenient and easy to use service. I like that it automatically takes a dollar from my checking account for every purchase. It makes it really easy to save money. I also like that it backs up my checking account for any possible over draft charges. I was, however, surprised that I was penalized for making too many withdrawls in a single month. I lost my job and was frustrated that I had to pay to use my own money in an emergency.…read more
I currently have a Wells Fargo way 2 save account and I think its great. It basically just every time you make a purchase with your Wells Fargo debit card it takes $1 extra out and puts it into you way 2 save account. I think its easier to save this way and if you need it for emergency situations you can transfer the money from your way 2 save account to one of your personal checking accounts to cover something.…read more
I have had my wellsfargo savings account for almost 6 years. I originally opened it to save money and not be charged for my checking account and do not regret it! I can easily transfer between my savings and checking account online and have never had a problem with the bank depositing in the proper account. Of course I wish the interest rate would be higher (who wouldn't) I usually use the money in that account as an emergency fund and not really as a way to gain money through interest. The savings account fits my basic needs and allows me to store my money somewhere safely without any fees.…read more
I love my Wells Fargo Way2Save Savings Account. I have had this account for many years and it has been a life saver for me at times. It automatically takes money from your checking account when you spend money. At times, I have had up to $10 transferred to my savings and this can add up. I leave it there and then I use it for special occasions, emergencies, unexpected bills, car maintenance and other things. The interest rate is super low but I am not using this fund to make alot of money. I use my checking account almost daily, with my debit card and this allows me to save money without even trying. I am not good at saving so this is a forced saving and it has been so helpful for me. I forget about the account and then when I look at it and see $50.00 I am so excited and grateful that i have it. I like to keep my accounts at one bank or as few as possible and my Wells Fargo Accounts are my most used and so it really helps when I need to keep track of things. I love this account!…read more

I really liked my Way2Save saving account before the new federal transfer limit of 6 transfers per month. Every time I use my Way2Save checking account (which is connected to the savings account), it puts $1 from my checking, into my savings account. This was no big deal before, because I could go online and transfer the money from my savings account back to my checking account, even if it was only for $1.00. Now I am more hesitant to do transfers, because the limit is imposed. I feel like I need to wait for a long time before I can transfer the money out of my savings account. This is annoying because I do not make a lot of money, and at times am strapped for cash, and therefore even a dollar would make a difference. The convenience of being able to do my transfers online or on the WellsFargo App on my phone is lost when limits are imposed. Also, there is this limit, because my account is free, which is why I gave it 3 stars. However, it's still a hassle. If the limit was not imposed, this savings account would receive 5 stars, but since there is a limit now, this savings account can be a little impractical. Maybe a different idea for a free savings account would be more beneficial to me as a loyal customer.…read more
I used this CD as a saving mechanism for some money I had saved up after college. I figured it was better to keep it out of my hands for a little while and hoped it would grow a bit. I've had a savings account here (attached to my checking) for a couple of years, and have never had a problem. For us, savings accounts are straightforward as we're pretty much just looking for somewhere to keep our "extra" money, and not really looking for any bells, lights or whistles. This account is great for that. You won't get rich off interest, but there's no unattainable minimum balance, it's easy to tie it to your checking for overdraft protection and if you need to transfer back and forth from checking to savings, it's easy to do that too. There is a limit to the number of times you can transfer from savings to checking, but that's a government limit and not a Wells Fargo limit.…read more
I have had this account for a little over a year. It is nice because of all of the online features Wells Fargo has to help you keep up with your account. The website and app are easy to use and the organize things clearly. I like Wells Fargo because that's the main ATM where I live. I also kinda hate it because I just got my first job, it was seasonal but since I'm 18 I can't just walk over to a casino to cash it, the $5 monthly fee is taken out of my savings account whether I've made the $25 transfer or not. The woman I spoke with told me that since the place I worked at was associated with their company also, I wouldn't have the monthly fee. I believe that's false advertisement, I was shocked when the monthly fee showed up since I was told I wouldn't have one, and also by the fact it was taken out of my savings account.…read more
I opened this savings account along with a checking account at Wells Fargo. The original reason for the account is that I was in school and all the ATMs on campus were Wells Fargo. There are positives and negatives associated with this account. First the account linked to the Checking Account is a definite bonus as each time I make a payment it will deposit $1.00 from my check to savings. A handy way of saving without knowing it. Another is there is unlimited withdrawals should you need dip into your savings in an emergency. There is no problem. However the negatives come with the low interest rate and the fees associated with the account. They charge a $5.00 fee if you do not meet certain requirements. (ie. A direct deposit schedule and maintaining a minimum balance. Overall a pretty standard account from a national bank with some added features.…read more
Wells Fargo is by far my favorite bank because they are so convenient for me. The savings is great and they do not require you to have a minimum or maximum amount in the savings account. I have a Way2Save account and am very disappointed in it. They charge me five dollars per month in "fees" for no reason. I get absolutely no benefit for paying this five dollars. The interest rate is absolute crap. I have an online savings with another bank that has a really great rate, .9%. I just have this savings because it is linked to my Wells Fargo checking, which is decent. If you maintain a 300 dollar balance, the five dollar fee is waived. I have a Way2Save savings account with Wells Fargo. I like it because with every transaction I make, it automatically takes $1 from my checking account and deposits it in my savings account. Over time, that can really add up without you even making a conscious effort. This savings account also accrues interest, although very little. When you have a checking account linked with this savings account, it offers overdraft protection and will automatically take money from your savings account to cover what you overdrew from your checking account.…read more
