Hands down, the worst bank I've ever banked with. They lock my money in my checking and savings accounts if I am ONE day late on any of my auto loans. I recently applied for a loan to help pay for a medical procedure. No one called me to give me an update. When I texted the customer service number to follow up, the response I got was "you'll be getting a letter," and my response was, "so it got denied?" The reply I received was yes, have a good day. This bank literally does nothing to help their customers, even though I've been with them since 2018. My husband took out a loan with them, and for some odd reason, they didn't connect it to our joint account. Which means we had no way of seeing when it was due, resulting in my husband forgetting to make the payment. We called them MULTIPLE times to have the loan account linked to our joint account, and no one ever did it; they just told us, oh, we can't do that. Will definitely be moving banks ASAP. I wouldn't recommend this "credit union" to any of you if you like having access to your money and getting help when you actually need it.

The worst bank ever. Face to face is not a common practice at this bank. They screw up all the time. They Charge you a ton of fees. I've been approached About paying someone else's credit card & Someone else's car loan. They've harassed me about both of these several times going through the drive through. I've given them money to pay overdraft fees and they have stuck it in a different account. I'm done with them. I'm going back to a bank where they want to interact with you and not hide behind a TV screen.

Ask yourself why this company is worth it to use. They use a slow banking system, have slow to answer and rude customer service, still charge overdraft while also not offering true overdraft protection. They have no HYSA and a website/app this is constantly down or broken. This bank has nothing that UW CU or even Online Banks don’t have. I would avoid, if you want to stay local, use UW

No one answers phone. They changed banking system without any customer coordination...caused me multiple issues that they are unable to address. They use to be good, now too big and they are unable to provide expected service.

This place is a train wreck. Here is a list of all the issues we've had with them.
1.) They didn't pay our real estate taxes even though we had an escrow account with them. We received a notice in the mail from the county with interest on top of it for their screw up.
2.) We signed mortgage papers in our car. Yes it was COVID, but there is absolutely no reason why anyone in the world should be signing mortgage papers in our car. There is so much paperwork you're signing you would expect them to sit you down (as most banks do) and explain what you're signing so you understand everything.
3.) They never gave us our signed mortgage paperwork. We had to request it.
4.) The pulled a credit report on us without telling us when we opened up a checking account. Usually a bank runs through chex systems. This was a hard pull. They should notify you if they do a hard pull, period.
5.) If you call, you will wait on the phone for 15 minutes or more.
6.) They allowed charges to go through on a debit card that resulted in overdrafts. That was an accident as we use the account with Summit as a spending account. Thankfully we kept our old credit union for our checking that we pay bills out of.
7.) Their overdraft fees are $28. Most credit unions have done away with them. When we asked why they haven't done that, they refused to answer.
8.) Try going through the drive-thru once, it will take you FOREVER!
9.) Try going to a location once, you might just find that even if you go into the building that you will be greeted by computer screen. This was also before COVID. They literally do not want face to face contact at some of their locations.

I worked at Lorillard for 35 yrs and was a member of the Lorillard credit union.. the credit union got bought out by summit credit union, and I retired from Lorillard but I stayed with summit credit union which was a big mistake. I have had to change debit cards 4 times in the last 4 months and needless to say that everyone knows what you have to do when you change cards if you have your bills automatically deducted. now you have to go back to everyone who is debiting your account each month and give the new card info. well I have done this 4 times in the last 4 months and I was just told that what they got in touch with me for fraud on my debit card is pending the transactions, and I told them to stop payment, and they told me they couldn't. they had to wait till it went thru and then I can file a dispute. that is crazy... why payout when I went and told them to stop payment. I can't speak for anyone else, but this the worst credit union I have ever used. I'm 65 and disabled and can't keep doing this mess every other month. if you write checks and use this credit union I guess it's ok, but if you have a debit card and use it to make purchases RUN, DON'T WALK AWAY FROM THIS CREDIT UNION!!!!..... I gave this credit union 1 star because I had to to leave this review, but in all honesty, it should be a minus 5.

Associated Bank sold the Monroe branch to Summit . Monday Mar. 1 is the transfer date. I still haven't received Debit Card or PIN. Also didn't receive info about how to access my account online. So I can't get my money. Will be changing banks as soon as I can get my money. I will also be filing complaints with the appropriate agencies.

0 stars review - horrible bank dont do it dont do it. I was a loyal customer for 30 years putting up with it and putting up with it -when I went to close accounts no one even cared - great customer service. They think they can go in and touch your money when it is not theirs to touch. Filed BBB and complaints. Do not bank with them in any service. and if you look they will respond to this review with a candid automated response....no I dont want you to reach out to me I already tried.

I love Summit! I have been to many different banks and some other credit unions and I have to say that none compare to Summit. The staff is always helpful and polite even if they are busy. They take the time to say hello to everyone that walks in the door, if they are with a customer they say "Excuse me...hello" and look straight in the eye. They take the time to explain everything and every detail, no hidden fees with them. I'm glad I moved my money to them. I look forward to dealing with them in the future. I also have my checking account in Summit. I adore them and it just gets better daily.
