Telhio Credit Union Checking Accounts

I hope you never plan on calling them if you have any issues. They are open on the phone for basically two hours. The customer service is horrible. I call for help and they never assist me, and all I hear is people laughing in the background. Within the first week, my card was being charged in Texas. Then I receive calls every day and have to go through every purchase and confirm them. It's ridiculous.

This is the only credit union or bank I've ever worked with that doesn't offer to take overdrafts from your savings. An automatic payment came out of my checking that I had forgotten about, which is why I dislike paperless billing in the first place, though I wasn't given a choice on that payment. The resultant fee was beyond exorbitant, reflecting nothing less than unbridled greed, especially considering a deposit was pending. I had a substantial amount of cash in my savings, but they proceeded with the charges anyway. When I called, they offered no reasonable solution. I certainly can't recommend Telhio to others after this experience. It was hearless, cruel, and extremely frustrating!

Telhio is thirsty. They charged me a $35 overdraft fee for being 28 cents overdrawn. The response was that even if it is 1 cent, it is still an overdraft. When it was Columbus Metro Federal Credit Union, it was not this bad. I did not choose Telhio; they were forced on me because of a merger. Telhio is the worst bank I have ever dealt with in over 40 years of banking. As soon as I have time, I am taking my business elsewhere. Good luck, Telhio, because with the way you treat your customers, you are going to need it.

This isn't a credit union - this is a greedy bank. In 2022 alone, they charged me over $3500.00 in fees. Refused to return any of those fees. The drive-up ATM machines, located at their branches take DAYS to allow cash deposits to reflect your balance. My direct deposit, which goes into several bank accounts, takes an entire day to show up in Telhio. It's not that way with other banks.

I’ve been with Telhio for 18 years and I will be leaving them. They don’t offer anything for anyone that doesn’t have a lot of money! There are many other banks and Credit unions that offer so much more!

Telhio is a reliable credit union that has lots of financial offerings and a competent staff available to answer your questions. I moved to the area and opened a checking and savings account to take advantage of high interest rates on my savings. Years later when I was going to go car shopping I stopped into my local branch and told them what I was looking for. They let me go grab some lunch and come back when they were done. I was able to walk into the dealership confident I was getting a great interest rate that fit my needs so I could focus on getting the price lowered.

I've been a Telhio Credit Union member for over 15 years now and I unless some banks start offering free cars, not toasters, I'm staying put. The fees are reasonable, and their rates are amazing. I've heard people complain about what you have to do to open an account, to that I say deal with it. They ran my credit..big deal! I'm glad they do! This is a credit union people, not a big box bank. Six locations in Columbus, and you get a superior level of service because of it! No “I have to call corporate” or 48 minute hold times! They are open until 2pm on Saturdays which is HUGE! Did I mention I've seen the same tellers for almost 10 years at one location? Where else do you see that? If you live in Franklin Co, I don't know why you would bank anywhere else.
