The customer service is disappointing at best. They depend on third-party companies that have access to your financial information, which raises serious privacy concerns. I strongly recommend avoiding this credit union. If you've had a similar experience, you can file a complaint with the NCUA at mycreditunion.gov.

He then states that Desert Financial takes security very seriously and that I am misunderstanding the situation. He adds that my voice does not match what he expects of a male voice. Firstly, that is something you should never say. The representative from my new bank tells Brandon that he is speaking to Mr. D and admonishes him for addressing me incorrectly. We then asked for a manager. Said manager left us on hold for 26 minutes. He introduces himself as Julian and supports Brandon's behavior. After 45 minutes of feeling insulted, we finally obtained the payoff information.
I will be closing my accounts with Desert Financial by the 23rd and will never do business with them again due to their bigotry. It is unacceptable for any business to behave in this manner. I was made to feel inferior. My tone of voice is due to a very traumatic incident from my early youth that caused multiple surgeries and scars. Brandon and Julian, you need to do better.
2) Twice now, I've been locked out of my online access. It's a holiday today. They are closed. I'm not able to access my information because apparently they have incorrectly input my security information. BAD BAD BAD! They are more trouble than they're worth.
I called again today, and after a long wait, I got through to a person who transferred me to another department. The person I talked to was Liz (she refused to give me her full name or agent ID). She was extremely rude, insulting, and was literally yelling at me, telling me, "I have decided to close your account." I asked for the reason, and she gave me a vague answer and abruptly ended the call by saying the money in the account will be sent to my address on file.
I have never experienced this kind of insult and treatment before. I have bank accounts with of institutes, and people respect me when I call for banking. This credit union is unbelievably unprofessional and mistreats people. Stay away from them. Maybe they have too much business and have no need for additional clients.
Shame on you, Liz, for insulting and yelling at me, and shame on Desert Financial Credit Union for hiring people like Liz.
