I have been working with 21st Mortgage Corporation for over a month, and the experience has been extremely disappointing.
Customer service is inconsistent and unhelpful-you never get tot speak with your assigned loan originator, and every time you call, you're connected to someone new who lacks knowledge of your case. Communication is mostly through emails and texts, with little to no real guidance.
My husband and relocated from NV to FL and have been living in a hotel for an extended period due to ongoing delays. Despite having excellent credit and promptly providing every document requested, the process continues to drag on with new, unclear requirements constantly being added.
The most recent issue was being asked for a "home locator map", something no one could clearly explain-even when I called directly for clarification. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was told there was no one available to assist.
This has been a stressful, confusing, and exhausting experience. I strongly urge anyone considering this company to do thorough research before proceeding. If I could give negative stars, I would.

The mortgage company as far as the payment and approval for our home went smoothly the reason for 1 star is due to the 21st insurance they go through for mobile home insurance its a total scam! We had a 4 month old mobile home tornadoes and high winds came through arkansas tree fell on our roof and we lost our bricks shimmies and anchors that champion homes installed and included in our mortgage for the mover, but insurance by 21st denied all claims 😢 we had to come out of pocket several thousands we didn't have due to purchasing a new home, land ect! So if you go through 21st mortgage for home that's great but DO NOT PURCHASE THE MOBILE HOME INSURANCE THEY OFFER ITS A SCAM! THEY SENT US A $300 CHECK FOR $40,000 WORTH OF REPAIRS!! LOOKING NOW FOR BETTER INSURANCE IF NOT A OPTION I WILL BE REFINANCING THE HOME WITH DIFFERENT MORTGAGE COMPANY WERE INSURANCE IS BETTER AND 21ST WILL LOOSE OR 70K LOAN, ITS PRETTY SAD!!

I received a denial from 21st for a $121,000 loan. I have a 760 credit score and was putting $40,000 down on the principal. The person I spoke to, Avery, said I was denied because I just started a business 9 months ago, and my wife was denied because she didn't make enough. She makes close to $40,000 a year and has a credit score in the 700s. They said to even consider loaning to me, I would have to put down at least $70,000. I have that, but I refuse to work with them. I probably avoided a nightmare...

That's nuts, we were approved with me hardly any income and 650 credit and my husband had 600 and makes around 70k a yr but we got approved pretty quickly but insurance through them is terrible we had a tornado claim they only paid out 300 when it was 42k worth of damages we had to come out of pocket so may have saved u not being approved! Sorry this happened that's ridiculous

If I could give zero stars, I would. I have consistently paid this mortgage during the grace period; however, due to increasing food and electricity prices, I have started to struggle over the past couple of months. When Nia E. asked why I was late, I explained that my food and electricity bills have doubled. She essentially called me a liar in an email. I receive harassing phone calls several times per day even though I have told her that I work overnights and sleep during the day. If I'm one day past the due date, they start calling multiple times per day. I've never dealt with such a disrespectful and unprofessional company in my life. Stay away from this company!

This is by far the worst company I have ever had to deal with. The customer service is horrible, as are the workers, especially Matthew. He doesn't know me, yet he had the audacity to be rude to me. I work in customer service and I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone; their behavior is unacceptable. I wish I could go elsewhere. It's a shame how they treat their customers, so to anyone considering this company, please don't.

Horrible place. They make you pay for a home inspection but don't even consider it. We got approved and everything was fine. The inspection came back great, then they had their appraiser go in and appraise the house for $5,000 less than what the offer was, picking apart things that were fine in the home inspection. Then they turned us down because of it. It cost us over $1,000 for nothing. Don't waste your time on these people.

I was really hopeful about getting our new mobile home through them; however, it started off with the team mapping my husband's commute to work (we live with my mom, bought land with nothing on it, and needed a home on it before we switched jobs). They then said his commute would be too far and would not allow him a reasonable income to pay the loan (the commute was an average rush hour commute). We provided them with a letter stating my husband could transfer locations at his current job upon the delivery/build of the home. We were denied again unless we had a $53k down payment, which is not attainable at this moment in time, and we had made that very clear. Preston was rude and condescending, accusing me of being ignorant when I expressed that my husband's commute is really not anyone's business as long as he has a job. He repeatedly referred to Google Maps, and for some reason, they would only count $1350 of my husband's $6000 income and then deny us because our income is $1350 when in reality, we make much more.
The whole process has been dreadful, and though I'm sad we cannot purchase our home at the moment, I am relieved we avoided further issues.

If I could go back in time, I would never have bought my home with this lender. They have aggressive collection tactics, calling you the day after your due date and calling nonstop, despite the fact that they have your payment schedule right in front of them, which shows when your paychecks are received. If you have anything come up, such as a health crisis, they show zero empathy or concern for your situation. I have owned three homes (this is my fourth) in my lifetime. Not once was I ever treated as poorly as I have been with 21st Mortgage. If you are considering them as your lender, find another source. They are horrible.

My experience with 21st hasn't always been the best. Over the years, I've found that if you're in a tough spot and can't make a payment, the representatives aren't always friendly or understanding. But today, I spoke with Henry, and he completely changed my perspective. He was patient, respectful, and by far the kindest representative I've spoken to in the last five years. If more people at 21st approached customers the way Henry did, the overall experience would be so much better. Shoutout to him for treating me like a person, not just an account.

Very poor customer service. We obtained a construction loan to place a manufactured home on our property. They were one of the few options available to us, but we intended to refinance with the VA once everything was in place and construction was complete. However, 21st refuses to retire the DMV lien on the manufactured home until the loan is fully paid off. Other lenders won't grant a loan without the DMV title lien being released/retired. I attempted to get terms from 21st to refinance because we sold another property and significantly paid down the loan. We wanted to lower our monthly payment since I'm about to retire. 21st won't quote us their terms using a soft credit check, which is standard practice with other lenders. A soft credit check does not affect the credit score. So, there's a catch-22; if we apply and don't like the terms, our credit score is negatively impacted and could cause us to get less favorable terms from other lenders. Our advice: avoid 21st like the plague.

I called about an escrow check that I mailed back to see if they received it. I had the pleasure of talking with Drew Paskel. I was very happy with how well she knew her job, and she answered so many questions for me. I feel there should be more people like Drew working in companies who know their job well. When I got off the phone, I felt that I had learned more about escrow than I knew before. Thanks again, Drew Paskel, for all your help; I hope she goes far in the company.

If I had known ahead of time that this company's customer service was uncivilized and unprofessional, I might have thought twice. Whenever Johnny N. would call me, he used my first name as if we were friends. In November of last year, my husband and I were struggling to make payments. Meanwhile, my husband couldn't answer his phone due to the 12-hour shifts he worked. When I answered my phone to Johnny, he interrogated me about our payments and our struggles stemming from an unforeseen medical diagnosis and medication for my husband. It seemed as though some people might plan for such things, but we had not.
One Sunday evening over Thanksgiving weekend, Johnny called and my family van relayed the message that we were not at home. Despite this, he proceeded with an insulting and belittling lecture while my adult children and teenage grandchildren shouted to hang up. My grandson remarked that he sounded like something out of a horror game.
From that point on, I stopped answering my phone and began to email Johnny. Though I suspect he never read the emails, he started sending me messages and mail about foreclosure. Thankfully, by the grace of God, I managed to pay the three months' arrears. However, it was only after repeatedly asking if I could just make the payment and being transferred to another department.
Now, in April, my payment was in the account, but it was declined on the 11th, and I thought the payment would be processed on the upcoming Monday. Assuming everything was fine because I hadn't heard from them, I later checked my account only after Johnny inquired about the declined payment. I informed him that he had no right to know about my bank account details. I was firm in telling him that I would make the payment immediately or otherwise, I would hang up and seek legal counsel.
I did file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but it seems making a complaint to this company is pointless. So it's time to consider legal action. I am done with this company, and yes, I was unable to make my payment due to the circumstances. I am very displeased with this company. I have never dealt with a financial institution that demonstrated such a lack of manners, poor breeding, and ignorance in handling customer service in my entire career in customer service.
