Does Avis Car Rental accept debit cards?

Yes, Avis Car Rental does accept debit cards at most U.S. locations, provided they have a Visa or MasterCard logo. However, you must be at least 25 years old (or 18 in New York) to use a debit card for pickup. Avis will place a hold on your account for the estimated rental cost, which may tie up funds until after the vehicle is returned.
