They used to be a great neighborhood bank. They handle all my father's business accounts. I have a checking and savings account with them. Since corporate greed took ower after the old ownership left it's nothing but fees, fees and more fees. Any place this bank can make an extra dollar off their customer, you get they're gonna add some kind of fee. Go to Capital Federal and get a free checking account, that way you don't have to worry about your account balance dropping below $800 and then having them charge you an $8 fee. That's a daily balance, if your account drops below $800 for one day, they are charging you that fee. Just more corporate greed, it's ruining this country.

They are sneaky and rip off customers every chance they get. DO NOT BANK HERE! Got charged 6 overdraft fees in one day, some banks give you 24 hours to fix your negative balance however this bank just seems to rack up as many fees as they can on you

We love this bank, specifically we love the Armstrong Branch. It was only a few blocks from where we lived, and given Armstrong isn't too big of a town, most people were within easy walking distance. We loved Phil, the primary insurance adviser as he was helpful and personable. If nothing else, use that service, it's great. They have a housing advisor, although we never needed to use him. The tellers are generally pretty nice and friendly, we never experienced any overtly negative transactions or issues. One thing, most people will like, is that even though it is a small town bank they always have 2 counters open inside. It's nice to go in and not have that line, and be stuck behind someone who just isn't in a hurry to get anyone else moving. A great experience for anyone who needs a solid local bank.

A few years ago we moved to Armstrong, IA and chose to try Bank Midwest on a recommendation. The nice thing about the branch we used was that there were a large number of professionals there to help with a variety of services. They have insurance agents, housing and realty specialists and notaries. On the whole the service is great, you have the occasional issue with a new teller or an older teller who just isn't in the right mood, but overall customer service is pretty good. We still use the insurance agent, through them as he is solid and skilled, but I believe if you are in that area, it is a good branch to use. We used it with no problems and continue to use one of their services.
